The first few minutes of the wedding are just a blur to me. I know I walked, but I don’t know the details. Suddenly my mind focuses in and I notice that Joe and I are standing in front of Bob, who’s marrying us. (He did this thing a few years ago and now he’s certified to do that. And no one else really agreed with the whole Joe and I both have cocks thing…) Bob starts saying the bible passage. After he finishes its vow time. I shake nervously. Joe already agreed to go first. Before he begins I try to remember mine. My mind goes blank. Joe gives me a nervous grin. He takes in a deep breath.

“Patrick…” he smiles “Ever since the day I met you, I’ve always known we would be really close. Although I didn’t think it would be this kind of close. But I’m so glad it turned out this way. I can’t imagine waking up beside some one else. Holding a different pair of hands. I really don’t think I could stand it. You are the most important person in my life. I promise to be your shoulder to cry on and if needed I’ll cry on you too. I promise to figure out the things you try to hide. I promise to stand beside you, at what ever costs. Thanks for being my best friend, and soon my husband.” He grins.

I think hard, desperate to remember my vows. I frown, realizing my only chance was to wing it. I clear my throat and begin.

“Joe I err… to be totally honest. My mind went completely blank. SO I guess I just have to speak from the heart.” I bite my lip. “Joe the way I feel about you is beyond any words in any of the languages. My heart soars at the mention of your name. If we were Romeo, and some male name to replace Juliet, I would make sure I did everything possible to help you, instead of killing myself like an idiot. My favorite day of the year is every day I spend with you. I promise to cuddle with you at every chance. I promise to help you with any problems you come across. I promise that I will do anything I can to make you smile. Every day with out you is a day well wasted!”

Then Bob grants us the permission to have our first kiss of our marriage. Our lips move together in a perfect rhythm. We pull apart, both of us glowing with tears of happiness. My mother buries her face into her handkerchief. I look over at Andy and Mark and see the same expressions on their face that Joe and I had on their wedding.
