NEW FLAME.

(It was a cloudy day, not raining but the sun couldn't quite shine through. Yusuke was sitting on the rooftop of his school when Boton came flying down to pay him a visit.)
Yusuke: "No. I already told Koenma that i'm not doing shit for the next three months. I need a vacation."

Boton: "Actualy I come to ask you something. (Yusuke looked at her curiously.) Have you heard anything from Kurama or Hiei lately?"

Yusuke: "No, why?"

Boton: "I noticed a strange surge of demonic power and then the next thing i noticed was that Hiei had left the human world. None of our people have found him yet."

Yusuke: "I had a feeling the little punk would end up jumping as soon as he got the chance."

Boton: "See if you can get any information from Kurama. I have to keep searching for him otherwise it's my head that's going on the chopping block."

Yusuke: "Yeah, whatever." (Meanwhile Hiei stood facing a young demon girl who was laying comfortably under a large tree in the demon world.)

Hiei: "So what exactly did you bring me all the way back here for? Those fools in spirit world are watching me like vultures to a fresh kill."

CC: "Like you enjoy biding your time on parole in the human world? You used to love the thrill of adventure... (she sighed) six weeks. (Hiei's eyes widened.) What do you want me to do?" (Hiei walked to her and kneeled down. He instantly remembered being tossed into the water when he was just an infant and became tense. Hiei suddenly hugged CC.)

Hiei: "Keep it. (CC smiled.) I will protect this family."

CC: "You don't have to. I can manage on my own."

Hiei: "I won't toss aside my child and I won't toss you aside either." (CC hugged him back.)

CC: "You're welcome to stay with me."

Hiei: "If I don't go back to the human world for now, then things won't end very well."

CC: "I see. What do you have in mind?"

Hiei: "Kurama has room at his house. I'll explain this to him.-" (A snapping twig drew their attention to the opposite side of the clearing where a duo of demons emerged from the dark woods. Hiei stood and faced them. CC sat calmly.)

Tall Demon: "Too small for a meal but that girl there looks tasty enough for a few bites." (The two demons snickered.)

Fat Demon: "Be a good little runt and just hand her and your sword over and we'll make it quick on you two."

Hiei: "You picked quite a day to make that demand. (In a quick flash, Hiei had sliced both of the demons throats and stood between their two fallen corpses.) Evidently you weren't quick enough. (CC smiled. Hiei put his sword away.) Let's go." (CC got up and they both vanished from the world. When they reappeared in the human world they were only a few miles from Kurama's house.)

CC: "I haven't been to human world in a while."

Hiei: "Consider yourself lucky." (They began to walk towards Kurama's house.)

CC: "So what's Youko doing in human world?"

Hiei: "He's chosen to live here under the disguise as a regular human."

CC: "That doesn't sound like him at all."

Hiei: "He's let himself be enslaved by his emotions."

CC: "Maybe he just found a good reason to stay." (Hiei smiled. CC touched his hand and he held hers.)

Hiei: "Maybe."
