-Prologue-
Jamie threw his hands up in frustration.
"Are you kidding me?" He shouted over his radio. The raindrops on his windshield glowed red as the car in front of him slammed on their brakes. Jamie had to swerve to keep from rear-ending the car. Jamie always seemed to become impatient when he had to be somewhere. Relaxed driving seemed impossible.
As he pulled into the school parking lot, Jamie glanced at the clock and realized that he was way too early. He breathed a heavy sigh and leaned back in his seat. He ran his hands through his hair, letting it fall back in his face again.
Jamie glanced out his side window, catching glimpse of what looked like a sophomore smoking a cigarette. Smoking was illegal on campus, but that didn't seem to make a difference. Jamie's emerald eyes fixated on the younger looking boy.
The smoker had afroish brown hair and seemed to blend in with most of the student population. Grey tattered hoodie, skinny ripped jeans, and classic All Star Converses. Suddenly, the kid's piercing blue eyes lifted and connected with Jamie's. A smirk tugged at his lips as he let out a puff of smoke. To Jamie's surprise, the lanky boy made his way over.
Out of respect for Jamie, or the fact that he was tired of smoking, the sophomore dropped the cigarette and stepped on it. It hissed and popped in protest. Jamie rolled his window down.
"Hey." The kid said, simply enough. The scent of the cigarette lingered around him breifly, before disappearing in the scent of the rain.
"What's up?" Jamie asked, confused.
"My name's Joe and you're a vampire, aren't you?" He asked bluntly.
"...Excuse me?" Jamie asked, starting to roll up his window. Joe simply grinned, showing off two fangs of his own.
"It's okay. I can read minds." Jamie opened his mouth to speak, but before he could Joe grabbed his chin. He forced Jamie to tilt his head back. "Single fangs?" Joe stated excitedly. "You ever heard of Andy Fulton? He goes by Grim." Jamie furrowed his brows.
"No, I can't say I have..." He trailed off, uneasily.
"I'll take you to meet him after school." Joe said, turning on his heels. The bell rang suddenly, causing Jamie to jump.
"Did you predict that?" Jamie shouted after the mysterious vampire. Joe turned, glared, and rolled his eyes.
