As the day closed in, Kelly found herself sitting in her room, music blasting, opening a few boxes she'd conveniently forgotten about, Most of the items were small things that were in her room back home in Saskatoon. Photos, which she couldn't bare to look at right now, CD's, A few stupid posters,a couple of pairs of shoes and a few littler things, Jewelery and ornaments. She didn't pack alot...she didn't really get the time too. She noticed it was dark outside. She probably should of gone and gotten something for her supper, like..4 hours ago. But it wasn't exactly a concern to her, at this moment in time.
Standing up she decided on fucking the system, and going to grab something to eat
from...hopefully...a take-out shop or A McDonalds or something. Jesus, Even fucking Sub-Way would be
good at this moment.
Standing up, she threw on a hoody, it was her favorite one ever, Sugarcult splashed over it in
bright Pink's and Yellow's. One band that could always make her smile. Always. Her cap slid
comfortably over her dark brown hair and her old school black, faded converse slipped perfectly
onto her feet. She knew at some stage, she'd have to get a new pair of jeans, the ones she'd been
wearing had rips in the knees and were frayed at the bottom's from being far too long for Kelly.
Grabbing a twenty dollar bill she slipped it into her pocket, grabbed the one key that she was given
for the apartment. She was nervous about leaving...extremely nervous. Opening the door, she peeked
her head out and swallowed hard, It's not as hard as it seems; she whispered to herself. Taking a
step out of the apartment, she turned to lock her door and then began walking briskly to the
elevator , she found out she was on the 4th floor, Of a 15 floor building. "Holy fuck...a lot of
people must live here" she muttered as she waited for the elevator to stop at her floor. Luckily it
was empty, to her that meant no uncomfortable talking, no-one that might potentially know her, and
be here to kill her. Ha. Thinking about that, scared her witless. The elevator took about thirty
seconds to reach ground level, to which she peeked her head out again, only seeing an older lady
with a little miniature Pomeranian.
Ahh, people, okay, so seeing people that were actually in front of her, made her happy. She walked
quickly to the main doors, and pushed them open, fresh-air hitting her like water running from a
shower. It felt amazing. She could finally breath in fresh air, finally walk outside, OUTSIDE. Yeah
she wasn't actually allowed too, but fuck...They honestly couldn't expect her to be locked
away.....all day...everyday for 4 months?
She looked around. It was warm out, warm out for the month of Christmas...December. December had
been the one time when all her family would be home, spending time together...being happy...singing
carols and drinking hot chocolate with those tiny little marshmallows floating on the top. This
year? She would be...completely alone for Christmas. Completely. Her eyes grew large at the
McDonalds sign. "Hell yes," she muttered, walking a little faster to it. Her senses tingled in her
nose, her mouth watered slightly and she smiled as she pushed the door open and stepped inside an
even warmer McDonalds Restaurant. Few people were in there, surprisingly, which made the whole
waiting for ages thing, vanish. She was second in line and reading what she could order, and
potentially, she'd grab a couple of extra things to place in her fridge, so she wouldn't have to go
out again.
After a short list of things to get, she bit her lip. A Quarter Pounder, A Chicken Burger, And A Big
Mac Meal. Yeah she was kind of hungry, she also got an apple pie and some cookies. Just for kicks
and giggles.
Her total was $13.78, she was glad she had some change, she needed to pick milk and bread and
potentially some bits and bobs from the corner store that she'd seen.
Waiting for around about 5-7 minutes she hummed quietly and looked down, at her shoes, noticing the
lyrics she'd written on the tips of her converse, she looked up, and smiled as the server handed
her a bag and a drink of coke. Thanking her, she pulled the hood back up over her cap and proceeded
to the door.
It opened before she got to it, she smiled, as the other person waited for her to walk through,
"Thanks" she said quietly, looking up quickly to smile again and proceeded out the door. Suddenly
something screamed in her brain and she turned around to see the same guy she'd seen on the
television, that Brendon guy. Smiling a little more, as he was A LOT more attractive in person,
than on TV, she bit her lip and turned, making her way slowly to the corner store.
She got a small milk, a loaf of bread, a bag of cookies and a bottle of Pepsi. She was a Pepsi
drinker, through and through.
Paying for the items, she shoved the rest of her change into her pocket, took hold of the bag and
the McDonalds bag in one hand, and her coke in the other, which didn't help when she was trying to
get out of the door, yet again, it was opened and she smiled again, Saying a quick "Thanks" her eyes
shot up, and that same fucking guy was there! Jesus fuck! Was he following her?! She furrowed her
brows slightly and looked down, walking away from the building and basically right into her own
apartment block. Now, If she turned around in the next few minutes, and he was behind her, she would
fucking freak out. Yeah, he was cute, but seriously? It was slightly freaking her out.
Luckily he didn't. and she was happy once she'd gotten into the elevator, and saw that it was empty
again. Then it made this horrible sound, and she was left frozen, as the doors opened and there he
was. Her eyes automatically darted downward and she swallowed hard, Not the 4th floor...please not
the 4th floor. He pressed 7th and she breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't talk to her, only smiled
as the doors opened for her to walk out of the damn elevator. But she walked quickly and in the
midst of attempting to get her keys out of her hoody pocket, she dropped the McDonalds bag. "Fuck"
she mumbled, "Fuck Fuck Fuck,"
"Need some help?" A voice from behind her asked, she froze and shook her head, "No...no thanks" she
mumbled, not wanting to turn around. "Sure? You look like your in a pickle there" Now, Kelly knew
that this guy, was just being nice, but something snapped and she turned around, "I'm fine, okay?"
Her eyes looked into his and he seemed taken back by the female. "Sorry for asking, Jeeze" he
shrugged and turned to walk away, then she felt guilty. Rolling her eyes, she sighed.
Looking down at her food, she looked up "Look..." She said rather loudly. She saw hesitation in his
stance, and he turned slowly on his heels, "I'm sorry..." she muttered, looking down as he came
closer again, "It's...alright...I probably shouldn't of been so...Nosey" he shrugged as she looked
up and Kelly smiled, "A little help...would be kind of good" she whispered, he smiled and nodded,
leaning down to pick up the McDonalds bag, he grinned, "Smells good, Nice way to lure in
unsuspecting guys, eh?" Kelly laughed softly, unlocking her door and pushing it open. Motioning her
head she invited him in. "Ignore the hardly anything mess in here...I haven't been here very long"
placing the grocery bag down, she grabbed the milk and placed in her, pretty empty fridge. Then
turned to see the guy smiling at her.
"So...what's your name?" She asked, thinking that, some guy that she'd let into her kitchen, should
really have a name. "Ryan Ross, you?" She smiled and shrugged,
"Emily Harver..." Then her brain exploded again. "Wait...Ryan Ross?" she looked at him and pointed,
"You're the dude! I saw you on MTV today....didn't I?" He laughed softly and shrugged, "I guess...No
big deal..." She shook her head a lightly, slightly flushed, "I saw...Your Friend? Brendon, at
McDonalds....and at the store...and in the elevator....kinda freaked me out a little" Smiling she
opened the McDonalds bag and bit her lip, "Want some?" She asked, "There's a quarter pounder and a
mc chicken in there" she grinned and held out the bag to him. "Luck of the draw then" he said,
sticking his hand in and pulling out the Quarter Pounder, "Nice choice" she muttered.
