Mikey's POV
"Frank?"
"Hmm?"
"Do you really think we can do this?"
"What?"
"Have Melody live with us."
"Yeah, I do. It might not be easy but we'll make it work."
"I hope so."
"Uh, hey guys. Can I talk to you for a minute?"
We looked up to see Alyson standing in the doorway.
"Sure."
"I don't know if you are aware but Melody is going to need somewhere to go when our parents find out."
"She told us and we offered to let her stay with Frank and I. When your parents come home she's going to tell them then come home with us."
"Oh, okay. That's good. I'm really glad she's got you guys to look out for her."
"Of course. We don't mind." I smiled.
"I'm going to miss her though." She sniffled.
"Don't worry. You can visit whenever you want to." Frank offered.
"Thank you."
"Mikey! Frank!" I heard Gerard call from upstairs.
"In the basement!" I called back.
A minute later Gerard, Ray, and Chris came bounding down the stairs.
"Here Mikes, I brought you coffee."
"Thanks Gee."
"And for you Frank." Gerard grinned as he tossed a pack of skittles at Frank.
"Have I ever told you how awesome you are?" Frank grinned back.
"I know. I know."
"Big headed much?" I snorted as I threw a pillow at his head.
I heard the door open and then close upstairs which meant Melody must be home. A minute later there were footsteps on the stairs and I expected to see Melody but instead Benji appeared. He looked upset and my first thought was something had happened to Melody.
"Mikey? Frank? Can I borrow you for a few minutes?"
Frank and I shared a look of confusion then nodded and followed Benji to Melody's room.
"Benji, what's going on?" I questioned.
"Greyson, Melody's ex-boyfriend, attacked her at school."
"What?!" I screeched.
"Why?!" Frank growled.
"He's fucking crazy and he has an anger problem."
Melody was lying on her bed sobbing into Zac's chest. I immediately went to her side.
"Mel, are you okay? Did he hurt you?"
"M-Mikey." She sobbed.
I pulled her onto my lap and brushed her hair from her face. I gasped. Her nose was swollen and purple and caked in dry blood. Her lip was swollen with a split running down the middle.
"Mel, what did he do to you?"
"He.....h-he....."
"He tried to rape her." Zac growled.
I felt the wind whoosh from my lungs. My stomach lurched and my blood boiled.
"That son of a bitch!" Frank shouted. "The baby, did he hurt the baby?!"
"N-No but I'm scared. He t-threatened me. He s-said he was going t-to hurt the b-baby."
"I'll fucking kill him!"
"Calm down Frank. We'll get him."
"You're damn straight we will! Mikey, I'm going to kick this little fucker's ass!"
Apparently, Frank's shouting was loud enough to travel through the house because Gerard, Ray, Chris, and Alyson suddenly burst through the door. They each wore worried looks.
"What's going on?" Gerard questioned.
"Melody's ex attacked her." I growled.
"Greyson?" Alyson gasped.
"Yeah."
"Dammit! Let me see, Mel." Alyson demanded.
"I'm going to fucking kill that bastard! Come on Mel, let's get you cleaned up."
Alyson helped Melody to the bathroom.
Gerard sighed. "I think we need to leave. We need to get her away from here plus, I am ready to go home."
"I think you're right." Frank agreed.
"What about school? She can't just drop out." Ray pointed out.
"You're right. We'll have to enroll her in school." Gerard agreed.
"Wait guys. Don't you think we should ask Melody what she wants?" I interrupted.
"Oh, yeah. I guess so." Gerard shrugged.
Melody and Alyson emerged from the bathroom. Melody lay back down on the bed with her head resting in my lap. Gerard gave me a look but I just shook my head at him.
"Melody, how would you feel about leaving here tomorrow?" Gerard questioned.
"I think that's probably for the best." She sniffled.
"It's settled then. We'll help you pack what you'll need in the morning and then we'll leave."
She only nodded. While everyone else left the room I stayed behind to comfort Melody.
"I'm sorry Mel. I wish I knew what to do to make this better."
"Just hold me."
I pulled her into my arms and held her close. I stroked her hair and rocked her gently until she fell asleep. I lay there with her until my stomach began to growl and I could no longer ignore it. I slid from the bed and silently left the room. I started down the stairs but halfway down I ran into Frank.
"Oh hey. I was just coming to see if you wanted dinner."
"Yeah. I'm starving."
"How is she?"
"She's okay now. She's sleeping."
"I can't believe someone would attack her. She's a sweet girl."
"I know Frankie. Come on, let's get some food. I don't want to leave her for too long."
We went down to the kitchen and took out places at the table. Someone had ordered in pizza and it smelt delicious. I ate as quickly as I could without drawing suspicion to myself. Just as I finished and stood from the table there was a bone chilling scream from upstairs.
I bolted straight for Melody's room with Frank on my heels. We burst through the door to see a guy sitting on top of Melody as she struggled to shove him off. Frank shot passed me and ripped the guy off of her. I went to her side.
"Are you okay?" She nodded.
I saw Frank straddling the guy as he lay punch after punch to his jaw. I pulled Frank off of him.
"So which on of these assholes is the father?" He spat at Melody.
"Don't fucking talk to her you piece of shit!" I growled.
"Fuck you!"
"Fuck me? No, fuck you!"
Anger consumed me and I jumped on him. I punched him over and over until I couldn't tell where his blood ended and mine began. I could feel someone pulling me off of him and see Ray dragging him from the room. I returned to Melody's side.
"Did he hurt you?" She shook her head.
"Yep. We are definitely leaving first thing tomorrow morning." Gerard frowned. "And I think someone should watch over her tonight."
"Me and Mikey can do it." Frank offered.
"Hmm." He eyed me suspiciously. "I guess so, just let me know if anything else happens."
"Will do Gee."
Everyone except Frank and I left the room. I crawled onto the bed beside Melody and pulled her to my chest.
"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have left you."
"Mikey, it's not your fault. Pleas do not start blaming yourself."
I sighed. "Okay. I think you need to get some sleep."
"Mel, where can I get some blankets? I'm gonna make a bed on the floor." Frank questioned.
"Just lay with us." She murmured.
"I don't know if that's such a good idea." He mumbled.
"Please? I'll feel safer."
"Mikey?" He looked at me questioningly. I nodded.
Melody snuggled into my chest and I wrapped my arms around her tightly. Frank lay on her other side with his back to us. We all fell asleep quickly.
A/N: I know this one sucks but I really wanted to get to moving day plus I wanted Frank and Mikey to beat the hell out of Greyson.
