Gerard arranges for Melody's new identity. Melody and Frank talk about the baby.

Gerard's POV
I know Melody was lying. I had seen that kiss Mikey had given her this morning. They just hadn't noticed me. There is no way I am going to let this happen. I will find a way to stop this. I am not quite sure how at this very moment but I will figure something out.
When we arrived back at the apartment I went up to discuss the change of plan with Mikey and Frank. I found them on the couch watching a movie.
"That was fast."
"Well Mikes, we've had a slight change of plan."
"Uh-oh. What happened?" Frank sighed.
"Melody pointed out one major flaw with our arrangement."
"What's that?" Mikey questioned.
"She can't exactly be Frank's twenty-one year old girlfriend if she's in high school."
"Damn. How did we manage to overlook something so obvious?" Mikey groaned.
"I don't know but I think I have come up with a sensible solution. She is supposed to be Chris' little sister which means they should have the same last name anyway so I am going to talk to a guy I know about making some fake documents under the name Melody Green. I'll have him change her date of birth so it states she is eighteen instead of seventeen."
"Won't that still draw attention to our situation?" Frank questioned.
"Yes but the shock factor will be slightly less harsh if she is at least of legal age. Plus, we can keep the baby detail out of the news until she is showing."
"I guess that could work." Mikey shrugged.
"It's the best we've got right now." I sighed.
"Where is Melody?" Frank asked.
"I don't know but I need some information from her."
"I'll find her. She's probably in my room." Frank offered then went to get her. He returned a minute later with Melody.
"Melody, I need your driver's license."
"Sure." She pulled them from her purse and handed them to me.
"Is everything on here correct?"
"Yes."
"Okay, thanks. Mikey, can I speak with you in private?"
"Yeah."
I followed him to his room where I shut the door behind us and sat on his bed.
"Mikey, I need to ask you something and I want the truth."
"Okay. What is it?"
"Is there anything going on between you and Melody?"
"No, of course not. Didn't we already discuss this?"
"Yeah. Okay, Mikey."
'Lying bastard. He must think I'm an idiot. I knew this girl would be trouble. Mikey never lies to me but she comes along and fucks everything up.' I thought to myself.
"I have to go take care of those documents. I'll call you later."
"Okay. Bye Gee."
As soon as I left I called an old friend from high school. I was fairly sure he would be able to produce the documents I needed. He had agreed to meet me at the coffee shop down the road. When I got there I ordered a coffee and found him seated at a table in the back.
"Hey Jared. Thanks for coming."
"No problem. It's been awhile. How are things?"
"Complicated to say the least. I was hoping you could help me out with something."
"What can I do for you?"
"Do you still know how to make fake documents?"\
"Yeah. Do you need some?"
"Not for myself. They are for a friend of Frank's."
"What do you need?"
"I'll need a birth certificate, a social security card, a new driver's license, school transcripts, and immunization cards."
"Do I even want to know why you need all of this?"
"No, probably not. So can you do it?"
"Yeah. I'll need the person's information."
"Here is her driver's license. The only change I need to her information is her date of birth. I need her to be eighteen instead of seventeen."
"Okay and what about the parent's names for the birth certificate?"
"Cynthia and Christopher Green."
"Place of birth?"
"Newark will be fine."
"Okay. I can have them ready by Friday but it's not going to be cheap."
"Price is no problem. Just call me when they are ready."
"Will do."
"Thanks Jared."
"Don't mention it."
After that I left the coffee shop and called Ray and Chris to let them know about the minor change in our plan then I went home. I needed a plan of my own. One that would ensure Mikey and Melody were no longer together. Even if it meant doing something Mikey would be pissed at me for. He would thank me later once he realized it had been for the best.
Melody's POV
Gerard had frightened me. I was now even more terrified for him to find out about me and Mikey. I felt like he had meant his words to be a threat. I wasn't afraid of him harming me or my baby. I don't think that is what he meant. I think it was more like he was telling me he would do anything and everything in his power to make sure Mikey and I were not together. I was also afraid to tell Mikey. I was not sure if he would believe me or not. After all, Gerard is his brother. I decided my safest bet was to talk to Frank. I found him in his room playing a video game.
"Hey Frank, can I talk to you?"
"Yeah. What's up?"
"I, uh.....What do you think Gerard would do if he found out about me and Mikey?"
"I don't know. He'd probably be mad. Why, did he say something to you?"
"I....I don't want Mikey to know. Please don't tell him."
"What did he say?"
"You won't say anything to Mikey?"
"No."
"Okay. On the way back to the apartment he asked if I was fucking you. Of course I told him no but then he asked if I was fucking Mikey."
"Are you serious?" I nodded. "What did you say?"
"I told him I wasn't fucking anyone but if I was it wouldn't be any of his business."
"And what did he say?"
"That's the part that freaked me out. He told me that is where I am wrong because you and Mikey are his family and he won't stand by and let me destroy you guys anymore than I already have. It frightened me. You don't think he would do anything do you?"
"Nah. He's just pissed with the whole situation. I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure he doesn't find out about you and Mikey."
"Okay. Thanks Frank."
"No problem. Hey Melody?"
"Hmm?"
"What do you think we are having?"
"Huh?"
"A boy or a girl?"
"Oh. I don't know. What would you like it to be?"
"It doesn't matter. I just want it to be healthy."
"Yeah, me too."
"Do you think I'll be a good dad?"
"Yeah Frank, I do."
"Thanks. I don't know if I've told you this but I'm glad you are with Mikey. At least I know he will love this kid just as much as I will."
"Do you really think so?"
"Yeah. I do."
"Good. I was kind of worried he would change his mind once the baby came."
"Mikey isn't that type of person. He likes you for you and I promise this baby won't change that."
"Thanks Frank. You don't know what a relief it is to hear you say that."
"You are welcome."
"So, you do want to be in this baby's life?"
"Yeah, I do. I mean I am afraid but I would never abandon my kid. I would never want them to think I didn't love them."
"I'm glad to hear you say that and I really am sorry this happened."
"It's okay. We've just got to move on and grow up. This baby is going to need the both of us and Melody it's not all your fault. I was there too, ya know?"
"Yeah but..."
"No buts. It happened. We can't change that but we can be friends and give this baby everything he or she needs and wants."
"Okay. I think I can deal with that."
"Now come on, let's go find Mikey. I am starving."
"Food? I'm in." I grinned. Frank laughed.
