Frank's POV

"Frank, I'm scared. What if your mom hates me?"

I rolled my eyes for the millionth time this morning. "She is not going to hate you. She's not even mad at you. She's not even mad about the baby. She is only upset at me because I didn't tell her when I first found out."

"I'm still scared, Frankie."

"Lay down. I know something that will help."

She lay back on my bed and I turned my ipod on shuffle. The Bouncing Souls drifted through the speakers. I lay on my side beside her and lifted her shirt up, exposing her stomach. I began to slowly trace random patterns with my fingertips across the small baby bump. She hummed contentedly as her eyes fluttered shut and her body relaxed beneath my feathery touches.

"Better?"

"Mmhmm."

I smiled to myself. I don't think she realizes just how much I enjoy this. It's the only way I really feel connected with the baby. Both Melody and I jumped when a bright flash interrupted our peacefulness. I glanced up to see my mother grinning from ear to ear with a camera in her hand. Mikey stood just behind her glaring at us.

"Awe. That is adorable." My mother gushed.

Melody quickly sat up and pulled her shirt down as she offered my mother a small smile.

"Hello Melody, I am Linda."

"Hello." Melody replied softly and offered my mother her hand.

"Nonsense. You are family now, honey." My mother smiled as she pulled Melody into a hug. Melody tensed momentarily before relaxing and returning the hug.

Mikey huffed loudly before stomping away. A moment later a loud slam echoed down the hallway, confirming he had retreated to his room once again.

"What is wrong with Mikey?"

"Nothing mom. We just had a small disagreement."

"You and Mikey never fight. What happened?"

I snorted. "Mom, we fight like brothers all the time. It's nothing."

She pursed her lips at me then frowned. "Okay. If you say so. What do you two say we get some lunch?"

"Sounds good, mom. Give us just a minute, okay?"

"Okay, honey." She smiled and left us, shutting the door behind her.

Melody let out a shaky breath.

"See Mel, nothing to worry about."

"Your mom does seem nice. Let's just hope she doesn't find out the truth or she will hate me."

"Come here." I pulled her into a hug and rubbed her back soothingly. "She wouldn't hate you even then. She would be upset but she would not hate you."

"I'm just scared that she will find out, Frank."

"If she does then we will get through it. I promise, okay?"

I pulled out of our embrace and looked her in the eyes. A few stray tears streaked her cheeks and I wiped them away with my thumbs.

"Thank you, Frank. I don't think I could do this without you."

"You don't have to because I am not going anywhere. Now get ready."

She nodded and began getting ready. I grabbed a pair of jeans, a clean pair of boxers, and a shirt then went into the bathroom to change. Once changed I fixed my hair and brushed my teeth before returning to my room. Melody had changed into a pair of jeans and a tight tee which showed off her slightly protruding stomach. It was adorable to see that little bump where our baby lay safely cocooned.

"Frank?"

"Hmm?"

"Is everything okay? Does this shirt make me look fat?"

"No. Of course not. You look fine."

"Then why do you keep staring at my stomach?"

"It just amazes me that there is a baby in there."

"Yeah. Me too."

"You ready?"

"Yeah."

"Let's go then."

The drive to the restaurant was filled with my mother's chatter about my family. Once there we found a booth, ordered our food, and waited.

"So Melody, how old are you?"

"Eighteen."

"How did you two meet?"

"Chris is her brother." I answered for her.

"The new drummer?"

"Yes."

"Hmm. I didn't even know he had a sister. Is he okay with the two of you?"

"Yes ma'am. He likes Frank a lot."

"That's good. Have you told your parents yet?"

"I, uh.......n-no ma'am."

"That's our next step, mom."

My mom sighed and I knew something was bothering her.

"Frank, I taught you better than to lie to me."

"W-What? Mom, I-"

"Frank Anthony Thomas Iero Jr., tell me the truth."

I glanced over at Melody. She had pure fear written all over her face. Her eyes glistened with unshed tears and she was nervously chewing her bottom lip. I sighed in defeat as I met my mother's eyes.

"Fine. Mom, don't be mad at Melody. This is mostly my fault. She isn't Chris' sister. Her name is Melody but she isn't my girlfriend. We are only friends but the baby is mine."

"Are you sure?"

"We had a paternity test done and the results concluded that yes, I am in fact the father."

"Melody honey, how old are you really?"

"I-I-I.....s-seven-t-teen."

"Do your parents know?"

"Y-Yes ma'am."

Melody was now in full blown tear mode. The salty tears streaked her pale face and I put an arm around her and pulled her close to my side.

"Come on, Mel. It's okay. Please calm down. Remember what the doctor said about stress." She nodded and began to wipe her eyes on a napkin.

"It's okay, honey. Calm down. I am not mad at you just a little disappointed."

"I-I'm s-sor-ry. I-I didn't m-mean for any of th-this to h-happen."

"Please calm down, Mel."

I rubbed soothing circles into her abdomen which seemed to help somewhat though she still had tears leaking from her eyes.

"Mom, no one can know she is only seventeen or I will go to jail and as far as anyone is concerned she is Melody Green, Chris' little sister, and she's eighteen."

"Frank, what possessed you to sleep with a teenager?"

At that question a new wave of tears fell from Melody's eyes and she sobbed harder.

"I-I'm s-sor-ry. S-So s-sor-ry."

"I didn't know, mom."

"Oh. I see. Melody, listen to me. We all make mistakes. Sometimes they're small and sometimes they are big but it's okay. I will be here for you and this baby, my grandchild. I am not mad at you, sweetie."

"T-Thank y-you."

"Of course. Now dry those tears and get some food into your stomach."

After lunch my mother dropped us off at the apartment and left.

"See, I told you she wouldn't hate you, Mel."

"I like your mom. Do you think she would adopt me?"

I chuckled. "She probably would but I think it might be a little strange for us, considering the circumstances."

She shrugged. "It was worth a shot."

We walked into the apartment to once again find Gerard lounging on the couch watching tv. This time though it was the television that caught my attention. There was a picture of the band on the screen and the headline read 'Frank Iero, rhythm guitarist of My Chemical Romance, expecting first child?'

"Shit!" I growled.

Gerard paused the screen and sighed. "I guess the cat is out of the bag now, huh?"

"I guess so." I mumbled.

"You have a million messages from reporters and I am sure a million more have called since I unplugged the damn phone. Should we call Brian now?"

"I'd rather not. At least not yet." I muttered.

"I'm sorry, Frank."

"Hey, no, it's not your fault. Come here."

She plopped down beside me and rested her head on my shoulder.

"It will be okay. Just don't go anywhere alone because the paparazzi can be vicious." She nodded her agreement.

I sat there thinking about the current predicament until realization came crashing full force around me.

"Wait, how do they know about the baby? We didn't tell anyone."

"I called them."

I am sooo sorry this wasn't up sooner. My laptop crashed AGAIN but this time I couldn't fix it myself so I had to have it repaired but it's back and working perfectly (for now) once again.

Thanks to everyone that reviewed. A big thanks to everyone that suggested names. That was a huge help to me.
