Frank's POV

I was still sprawled out across our bed lost in thought when Melody wandered back into the room with the vase of roses. She placed them on the nightstand beside the bed before joining me back on the bed. I rolled onto my right side, facing her and draped an arm across her middle, pulling her close to me. I nuzzled my face into her shoulder and a soft giggle fell from her lips. I smiled into her shoulder and let my fingers wander beneath the hem of her shirt and stroke her abdomen gently. She hummed softly, obviously enjoying the soothing gesture.

"Mel?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you want to get some breakfast with me?"

"Sure Frankie. I am hungry."

"Then get ready while I go shower."

"Not yet." She whined. "Just rub my tummy a little longer."

I chuckled softly and continued to run my fingertips along her stomach.

"Mel?"

"Yeah?"

"You said you had a rough night last night, was it because of me?"

"No Frankie, it wasn't anything you did."

"What was it then?"

"It's...complicated."

"Please tell me."

She sighed heavily and ran a hand through her hair.

"I will tell you about it over breakfast, okay?"

"Yeah, okay. I am going to go shower while you get dressed."

"Okay Frankie."

I gathered a change of clothing and made my way into our bathroom where I adjusted the spray to my liking then stripped myself of my current clothing before stepping under the pulsating warmth. I let the hot stream cascade over my tired and aching muscles, relaxing them while washing away last nights' toxins. I scrubbed at the sticky film of alcohol, sweat, and sex that seemed to coat my skin and hair.

It wasn't until the water began to run cold did I finally shut the spray off and step out of the shower. I toweled off and dressed in a pair of boxers, blue jeans that had rips in the knees, and a plain black tee. I brushed my teeth and fixed my hair before finally emerging from the bathroom, feeling somewhat refreshed.

Melody was standing in front of the full length mirror finishing up with her hair. She looked adorable in a pair of tight, black jeans, a fitted red Nirvana tee that accentuated her protruding abdomen, and Mikey's black Metallica hoodie. Her hair hung in loose waves around her shoulders and she wore just a hint of eyeliner and lip gloss. I slipped on a pair of socks and shoes then grabbed a hoodie.

"You look beautiful, Mel."

"Thanks Frankie. You don't look so bad yourself." She winked.

"I know, I know." I sighed playfully and she rolled her eyes. "Are you ready?"

"Yep, let's go. The baby demands food now."

I chuckled as I grabbed my keys and wallet and then let Melody out of the apartment and to my car. I drove to a small diner located just a few miles from the apartment where we settled into a booth and ordered our breakfast. We didn't have to wait long before our food was placed before us and we began to eat. We sat in a comfortable silence, eating our meals for several minutes before the questions began to flood my mind.

"Mel?"

"Hmm?"

"What happened last night?"

She bit nervously at her bottom lip, averting her eyes from my own before sighing and finally meeting my eyes.

"You have to promise you won't be mad."

"Mad about what?"

"You have to promise first, Frankie."

I sighed and nodded, agreeing to her demands.

"Well, um...you see, Gerard was really drunk last night and he kind of um....kissed me."

"He did what?! I am going to kill him."

"Frankie, no. It was a mistake and he was drunk. He didn't mean it and you promised."

"What the fuck was he thinking? I can't believe he did that. I definitely have a few choice words for him when we get home."

"Frank, please don't. He probably doesn't even remember. Just let it go."

"But Melody-"

"Please, Frank? For me?"

I sighed in defeat. "Okay Mel, for you but if he tries it again you better tell me."

"Okay."

"Is that all that happened last night?"

"Well, I uh...no."

Melody slumped down in the booth and her face clouded with guilt.

"What's wrong, Mel?"

"I told Alicia the truth. I told her about everything that has happened since July."

"Who is.. wait, is that the girl from this morning?"

"Yeah."

"Why, Mel? What if she tells someone? She could leak this whole thing and we've already had one close call, we don't need another."

"She won't, Frank. I trust her and I had to. I need someone I can talk to, someone I can confide in."

"But you have me. Don't I count?"

"Of course you, Frankie. Your opinion always matters, it always comes first but I need a friend. A girl friend, ya know?"

"Yeah Mel, I think I know exactly what you mean. Let's just hope she keep her mouth shut."

"She will and if something does happen you can blame me, okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, just finish your breakfast."

We settled into another silence as we finished our breakfast. Once we were done I paid the bill, left a tip, and we headed back toward home. I could only hope Melody's little confession would not blow up in our faces.

I know, I know. I am so sorry. Please don't hate me?

I am sorry for any mistakes. I promise to fix them later.
