Gabe's POV
I led Cassadee, Maja, Joe, and Andy to a secluded area where we could discuss the new weaponry and spells they had created.
"Okay, Cass, what do you have for me?"
"I have something I think you will find very useful."
"I see. Tell me more"
"Okay. As we all know, the only way to ensure a vampire's death is by either severing the head from the body or poisoning them with wood. So, I have designed a new bullet." She paused to remove something from her pocket. "See this?" I nodded. "It appears to be just your average, every day bullet but it is, in fact, much more than that. I have replaced your usual gunpowder filling with a unique liquid mixture. Upon impact the liquid mixture will solidify into splinters of wood, piercing the skin and effectively poisoning the bloodstream. Any vampire hit with one of these will perish within one minute."
"Damn, Cass, that's impressive. Just remind me to never piss you off." I laughed. "Okay, Maja, what do you have for me?"
"I have been working on something nearly identical to Cass except my target is shapeshifters. Just like Cass, I have taken hollow bullets and replaced the gunpowder with a unique powder mixture of my own. This specific mixture contains a mix of moon silver and mercury. Upon penetration the bullet will explode, releasing a deadly dose of moon silver. The mercury serves to paralyze the victim while the silver poisons the bloodstream and effectively terminates the shapeshifter."
Joe snorted. "Remind me to never forget our anniversary again." Maja nudged him playfully.
"Great job, guys. Now I want to see these weapons in action. Do we have any live targets?"
Andy nodded. "Yes. Joe and I borrowed some DNA from Frank and Gerard to make clones for demonstration. They are set up in the garden."
"Nice. How did you talk them into that?"
Joe snorted. "Frank was more than willing to help out. You know he loves when we let him be part of the experiments. As for Gerard? We all know he can't say no to Frank no matter what the situation is."
I laughed. "Sadly, this is true. Alright, let's see it then."
Cassadee led everyone into the garden where there were four targets set up. The first two targets held identical replicas of Frank while the other two held identical clones of Gerard.
"I know they are clones but they look identical to Frank and Gerard. That's insane. I wouldn't be able to tell them apart."
Maja snorted. "Yes you would. Frank is like a ball of bouncing energy. We can clone their looks not their personalities."
"You would think there would be some difference between the clones and their originals but I don't see it."
"It takes lots of patience and practice, Saporta. Two things you know nothing about." Cassadee smirked.
I snorted. "Whatever. Let's just see what you've got."
I watched closely has Cassadee carefully loaded her gun and expertly aimed at the first Frank clone. She fired, hitting the clone directly in the heart. The clone let out a shrill growl before making a choked gasp. I could see the poison snaking its way through is body. Trails of black wormed just under his pale skin, infecting his blood. He gurgled and growled, pulling at his restraints for approximately thirty seconds before letting out a shrill scream. His body went limp against the restraints as the last bit of life left his body.
"I am most definitely impressed, Cass. I think I am going to refrain from angering you ever again."
"Me too, dude, me too." Andy muttered.
"Maja?"
"I am going to enjoy this." Maja smirked as she stepped toward her target.
Maja picked up her gun which was identical to the one Cassadee had used and loaded one single bullet into the chamber. She took aim at the first Gerard clone and fired. The bullet penetrated his chest, hitting him in the heart. The clone let out a vicious growl as the bullet entered him. He snarled and growled, twisting and pulling against the restraints before going completely stiff and unmoving. Vicious growls tumbled from his throat as he stood paralyzed while the poison worked its way through his body. He let out a long howl as the last breath left his body.
"Impressive. I think Pete is going to be quite pleased with these advancements. You guys wait here while I get Pete."
"Sure thing, Saporta." Maja smiled.
I wandered around to the backyard where I found Pete with The Mysticals.
"Yo, Pete!"
"What do you need, Gabe?"
"Cass and Maja have come up with something I think you will like."
"Hmm...okay. Blaise, River, and Lyric, you guys come with me."
"Ooh! Have Cass and Maja showed you the new weapons yet?" Frank questioned as he came bouncing up out of seemingly nowhere.
"Hey Frankie. Yeah and I must say they are exceptionally brilliant. They are just going to show Pete now."
"I'm not missing this. I'm coming, too. Gee!"
Gerard popped out from behind the side of the house and joined us. "Yeah, babe?"
"Cass and Maja are showing Pete the new weapons."
Gerard nodded. "This I have got to see though I think it's going to be kind of weird watching myself die."
"Wait, what?" Pete questioned, shooting Gerard a look of confusion.
Gerard chuckled. "You'll see what I mean."
Pete only continued to stare at Gerard as if he had two heads.
"Everyone come to the garden. I think this is something everyone should see. Plus, I think you'll all enjoy this." Frank shouted.
Everyone stopped their training to follow us into the garden where we gathered around Cassadee and Maja.
"Holy fuck! What the hell is this fuckery?!" Brendon exclaimed. "Why are Frank and Gee tied up?"
"We're not." Frank grinned, popping out from behind me and into Brendon's line of vision.
"Wh-what....you...I....what?!" Brendon stuttered.
"Relax, Bren, they're just clones." Gerard pat him on the shoulder reassuringly.
"Okay, Cass. show me what you've got." Pete ordered.
Cassadee explained how the bullets worked before firing one single shot into the second Frank clone. I noticed Gerard flinch and pull Frank closer to his side but Frank only bounced on his toes, buzzing with excitement. Much like the first, this clone growled and spluttered as the poison infected its bloodstream until it, too, died.
"Oh my god! That was so fucking cool!" Frank beamed.
Gerard snorted. "I beg to differ."
"Nice shot, Cass." Ryan applauded.
"Thanks, Ry. What do you think, Pete?"
"I think this is brilliant. These will definitely come in handy. Very nice work, Cass."
"Thanks Pete."
"Okay, Maja, your turn."
Once again, Maja explained the inner workings of the bullet and what they could do before firing a bullet into the chest of the second Gerard clone. Gerard himself paled slightly as his clone met the same fate as the first.
"I strongly suggest no one here angers these two lovely ladies." Patrick stated.
"No shit! Man, that's a little scary." Zacky muttered, ducking slightly behind Emily who only chuckled and shoved him playfully.
"Impressive work, girls. We are going to need a lot of these made." Pete stated.
Maja nodded. "No problem, Pete. We'll get right on it."
"Okay, everyone back to your training." Pete barked.
Everyone dispersed back into their groups as I followed Cassadee and Maja down into the lab where we went to work on producing more bullets.
