Bob had never felt more like crap than he did in that moment. Waking up from a flat line was a lot harder than all those “I had an out of body experience” and “I have seen the light!” stories made it out to be. His eyes ached and strained to close, his sight going hazy every few seconds which gradually turned into minutes before ever so slowly he could focus properly. His entire body ached, like he had pulled all of his muscles somehow. He tried to sit up and decided it was the worst idea he’d ever had... well, other than killing himself of course... and promptly settled for just lying back until Frank tenderly helped him to move up.

“Bob? Oh God, Bob I’m so glad you’re okay!” He cried, wrapping his arms gently around the blonde and hugging tight to him.

Bob closed his eyes and sighed softly, a tiny smile pulling at his dry and cracked lips as he raised one hand and struggled to raise it high enough to hug Frank back. His fingers finally curled around Frank’s waist but he didn’t try to go any higher, even that small action alone draining him of energy. But God it felt good to hold his friend again, to have Frank care and not yell at him for being so stupid. He truly loved him, needed him... he would do anything for him.

“Frankie...” He croaked, his voice feeling like sandpaper scraping over the back of his throat and Frank hushed him softly, kissing his forehead after he had brushed his hair back off his face. Bob smiled weakly and closed his eyes for a moment, sighing softly.

“I’m so glad you’re awake... Bob, I’ve been so worried. I thought I was gonna lose you.” Frank mewled, forgetting all about the strange old man who had just gone, the way he had been so desperately kissing Gerard only minutes before. In that second the only thing that mattered was Bob and the chance for Frank to say everything he needed to him.

“M’okay...” Bob whispered hoarsely, his eyes closing again, unable to summon the energy to hold them open but he didn’t go back to sleep. He could smell Frank’s cologne faintly along with that delicious cherry fragrance his hair always had. It smelt like comfort and home and love. “Frankie... M’so sorry...” He breathed, Frank shaking his head and hushing him.

“Hey, stop it. Don’t you dare apologise. I’m sorry, I was such an idiot. I don’t know what I would’ve done if I’d lost you Bob. God, you’re my best friend.” He mewled, hugging him as tight as he dared before gently letting him go when Bob huffed in pain. His eyes fluttered a little and he smiled painfully at Frank, his hands slipping back down to rest limply at his sides.

“You’re my... b – est friend... too...” He sighed, tipping his head back and just taking a moment to relax. Frank smiled weakly and swallowed down the lump in his throat as he brushed Bob’s hair off his forehead, Gerard watching him with a small frown as the two teenagers shared a tender moment.

Gerard sighed and turned his face away, scowling to himself. He was not the jealous type, in fact he was never jealous. He didn’t even get jealous whenever Darius would leave the manor to sleep with someone else for a change. Gerard just didn’t get jealous. And he wasn’t jealous now. But he... he did feel quite irritated by the way Frank was fussing over Bob like that. He knew they were best friends but... well, Gerard couldn’t explain it. He just didn’t like it. He supposed it could just be him sulking from the episode with the old man, but either way, he wanted to leave.

Gerard looked back at Frank who had by now touched his forehead to Bob’s, his thumb stroking over his cheek as they just stayed silent together, a soft smile on Bob’s lips.

Enjoy it while you can. Gerard thought to himself. He’ll be all mine soon enough.

“Oh my God – Bob!” Gerard jumped in surprise when Christine suddenly appeared beside him, precariously carrying three polystyrene cups full of coffee. Gerard stared at her with a dropped jaw, his spine tingling uncomfortably. How had he not heard her? He... He could hear everyone’s footsteps hundreds of yards away, how had she managed to walk right up to him without him noticing? Was Frank really taking up his mind that much?

Bob slowly opened his eyes and groaned, smiling and weakly holding his arms out as Christine dropped the coffee cups onto the over bed table. Some of the hot liquid slopped over the sides of the cups and stained the wood but no one cared. Frank moved aside so Christine could throw her arms around her son and cry into his hair, Bob crying a little himself as he clung to Christine. Now he was awake and... alive, he could understand how frightened his mum must have been to find him as he was with apparently no reason why. He vowed he would never put her through anything like it again and he mewled an apology into her ear.

“What? Oh darling, it isn’t your fault. God only know how this happened, but you’re okay now. Oh Bob, I’m so relieved.” She whimpered back, clinging to him and Frank sighed, glancing over his shoulder at Gerard. His smile soon faded when he saw the scowl on his boyfriends face and he bit his lip ring, tiptoeing over and taking his hand.

“Hey...?” He whispered, not meaning to make it sound like a question but it just happened and he blushed. “Are you okay?”

“Of course.” Gerard replied flatly, carefully masking his frown with an emotionless look, Frank scowling instead.

“No you’re not.” He snapped, sighing and gently kissing his knuckles. “Is it that old guy? Don’t worry about him Gee, he was just crazy.” He shrugged, Gerard nodding stiffly.

“I know.” Of course he knew. He could smell it the second they had entered the room. The whole God damn ward was full of mental patients, Bob was the only one in there that didn’t reek of rotting brain, but Gerard wasn’t convinced he was fully sane anyway.

“So what’s wrong?” Frank asked, touching Gerard’s pale cheek and turning his head to look at him, gazing at him with concerned, hazel eyes. “Mm?”

“I just want to leave.” Gerard shrugged, sighing as Frank tenderly caressed his cheek and he couldn’t help but melt a little into his touch. He felt better now Frank was giving him attention instead of Bob. He leaned into his hand and wrapped an arm possessively around his waist, biting his lip. “Can we go?” He sighed, Frank biting his lip.

“Erm...” He turned to look at Bob and Christine still embracing and sighed, nodding. “Sure. Let me just say goodbye.” He whispered, kissing Gerard’s cheek before he made his way back to Bob.

The Bryar’s were sad to hear Frank was leaving but he promised to return the next day and only once he had sworn on his own life three times did Bob relax. He shared another gentle hug with the shorter man before whispering a quiet goodbye and Frank told him to get well soon, embracing Christine quickly before he took Gerard’s hand.

The vampire gave a polite wave but it was all he would offer before he tugged Frank away from them, drawing the curtains back closed to give them some privacy. Frank sighed and cuddled into Gerard’s side, walking with him out of the ward and back through the hospital to go home. He looked up at Gerard as they walked, the vampire gazing dead ahead with that same stony expression.

“You gonna tell me what’s wrong?” Frank asked gently, smiling when Gerard looked at him. “You don’t have to.” He added quietly, sensing that the taller man wasn’t in the best of moods that day and Frank had gone through too much in the last 24 hours to handle an argument right now.

“I’m fine.” Gerard sighed, turning his face away again and Frank chuckled hollowly.

“Sure.” He scoffed but he didn’t push it, the two of them walking back to the woods in a strangely comfortable silence despite how tense Gerard was. Frank guessed it would have bothered him at any other time but at that moment he was just feeling high from relief. Bob was okay, he was going to survive. Frank had got to apologise and everything was fine between them now, it was the best outcome he could have prayed for.

He looked at Gerard again and snuggled closer to him when he saw he was frowning a little now. He didn’t know what was wrong with him but he knew Gerard would tell him if he wanted to. Frank wasn’t sure he wanted to know anyway, he didn’t want anything to pop his little bubble of happiness just yet. He needed at least a good night’s sleep before that happened. He knew things weren’t going to stay this good for very long, he could sense something brewing but he refused to think on it. He told himself it was his imagination and that was enough for now.

Gerard sighed and tightened his arm around Frank, glancing quickly at the human before facing forward again. Frank was feeling happy, he could tell. As glad as he was that he was relaxed and content now he still couldn’t help but feel desperate to get him back to the manor. He was being irrational, maybe he had eaten something bad... sure he had never eaten something bad in his entire life but maybe he had now? Could vampires even do that...?

Gerard shook his head to try and clear it of his rambling thoughts, hating how strange he felt. It was like nothing he had felt before, and yet oddly similar. It just felt like anger and irritation and sulking all rolled into one. The thing with the old man was playing on his mind but he was sure it wasn’t that. It had come on when he had seen Frank touching his foreheads to Bob... stroking his cheek oh so tenderly.

“Gee?” Frank looked up at Gerard as they entered the woods and began following the usual trail, Gerard’s grip on his waist suddenly tightening to the point of bruising. “You’re hurting me.” Frank whimpered, Gerard looking at him in shock before he realised what he was doing and promptly let go.

“Sorry.” He quickly mumbled, scowling to himself when Frank took his hand and laced their fingers, still gazing up at him.

“You’re stressing.” Frank stated, speeding up to get back to the manor quicker, guessing Gerard would feel better once he was at home. “Why won’t you tell me what’s wrong?” He asked, Gerard huffing moodily.

“Because I don’t know what’s wrong myself.”

“What? Are you sick?” Frank asked quickly, concern washing over him and Gerard shook his head, pulling the human through the wall of branches that led to the clearing and he strode to the door of the manor, fumbling with the key in his pocket before he managed to locate it and thrust it into the old, rusty lock.

“Of course not.” He snarled as if the very idea of it irritated him. Frank sighed and bit his lip, exhaustion making his eyelids heavy and he rubbed a hand over them, groaning.

“Then what is it? Honestly Gee, I don’t think I can take your shit right now. What is up with you?” He sighed moodily. Gerard looked at him and tugged him into the manor, slamming the door shut behind him before wrapping his arms tight around his waist. When Frank opened his eyes to look at him he found himself stood in the bedroom, but this had happened so many times now he didn’t feel the usual surprise or eagerness to know how it happened.

“Gee wha –” Frank was cut off by Gerard quickly crushing their lips together, Frank gasping a little into his mouth and sighing. Gerard moved one hand off Frank’s waist to rest on the back of his neck, tugging him closer and kissing him with a clear heat and intent, Frank groaning a little but not in his usual pleasure.

“Gee... mmph... not now baby.” He sighed, Gerard kissing him a second longer before breaking with a quirked eyebrow. Frank blushed at his surprised look and gently untangled himself from the taller mans arms, hoping he didn’t offend him. He just really was too tired.

Gerard watched Frank turn his back on him and walk softly to the bed, pulling off his shirt before he looked back at him and sighed.

“Gee –”

“What?” Gerard breathed, shaking his head, just stunned. Frank was saying no? “W – What do you mean, not now?” He demanded softly, his hands slowly clenching into fists and Frank sighed, turning to face him properly. His heart was beginning to race a little in fear but as crazy as he knew it was he really did trust Gerard.

“I mean I don’t want to have sex with you right now. If I was getting the wrong impression I apologise, but I really just want to sleep.” He said bluntly, so bluntly Gerard flinched. It was such a human reaction that Frank’s eyes widened a little, his heart rate picking up more. Gerard was acting strangely and he didn’t like it. He had always thought Gerard was this strong, calm person. He thought that seductive, powerful aura of his was all there was to him. To see him looking hurt, surprised... offended. It was too alien on his beautiful features. “Gee, maybe in the morning just –”

“Forget it.” Gerard interrupted him, his voice delicately calm but Frank knew it was forced. His heart lurched and he sighed, walking towards the vampire but Gerard took a step back to match every step Frank made forward until he finally stopped.

“Gee?”

“Just go to sleep. I’m going out.” Gerard said stiffly, finding it almost ironic how much they sounded like a human couple who had been married far too long. No one ever said no to him, not even when he had been human. He felt sick inside, his already blackened heart seemed to burn and crumble into ash, fluttering over his ribs like softly falling snow. Frank had said no.

Of course Gerard knew that he could just force Frank down onto the bed and take him anyway. He wouldn’t even need to tie him up, he could use his vampire strength to pin him down and fuck him whether he liked it or not. But Gerard was many things, but a rapist he was not. He knew there had been plenty of times when Frank had acted like he was saying no, but never had he bluntly said it. Gerard knew some people thought there was a grey area in that kind of thing, but to Gerard it had always been crystal clear. If someone said no, it meant no. And that meant you didn’t touch them. He was nothing if honourable.

“Going out?” Frank whispered, his heart felt like it had suddenly been dowsed in ice cold water and he stumbled towards Gerard, reaching out to him. “What? Out where?”

“Just out.” Gerard shrugged, turning away and grabbing a jacket from the wardrobe, Frank shaking his head and lunging to grab his wrist.

“Don’t be stupid. I want you to stay here, I want to go to sleep with you.” He whimpered, clinging on tighter when Gerard moved to tug away. “Gee please! I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it. We’ll... I’ll... I wanna have sex Gee, right now. I’m so hot for you.” He purred, pressing up against him and Gerard snarled, flinging him away with more force than he intended, Frank sailing across the room and crashing against the floor. He stared at Gerard with horrified eyes and tears began to streak down his cheeks, guilt twisting like a knife in the vampire’s chest.

“I’m sorry.” He breathed hoarsely, sickened by his own actions as much as he was by the disgusting words that had come out of Franks mouth. If there was one thing worse than him saying no it was him pretending to want it. It made Gerard feel like throwing up. “Go to sleep, please Frankie. I’m not mad. I’ll... I’ll come back.” He sighed, turning and striding from the room as quickly as he could, unable to look at Frank’s saddened face any longer.

Frank watched Gerard go through his tears, his heart racing so fact in his chest it felt like it was humming. The fall hadn’t hurt him but inside he was dying. He had just wanted to come home and sleep, why was that such a bad thing? Why was Gerard acting like that?

“Gee... I... I’m sorry.” Frank croaked, picking himself off the floor and considering going after him, but no doubt he would have ran far away from here by now and Frank’s pitiful human speed would never allow him to find him. Instead he did the only thing his body would let him do, he slipped out of his jeans and crawled into the bed, hoping Gerard would return soon.

Frank felt like curling up and crying for hours on end, but he was exhausted he only slumped against the pillows and closed his eyes. The bed felt far too big for him without Gerard’s cool body beside him and his heart ached painfully as he slowly slipped into slumber.

Gerard ran and ran as fast as he could, running so fast he covered miles in minutes, the wind whipping through his hair and drying his eyes before any tears could form. His heart felt disgusting and empty, needing to beat and race in his chest but instead lying dead in the dried cavity. He needed to feed and gorge on blood to make it pound despite how full he still felt from the last feed.

He came to a stop at an unfamiliar town. God only knew where he was but that was irrelevant anyway. He jogged through it, still too fast for any human to keep up before he came to a club with neon lights and loud, pulsing music. He slink behind it into an alley full of trashcans and waited. Soon enough a couple appeared, slipping out of a fire exit and giggling drunkenly. The man looked young, maybe mid twenties, his arm slung around a girl’s waist who looked far too young for him. She was blatantly underage but had probably got in with a fake idea, and guys like that didn’t give a shit as long as they got what they wanted.

Gerard hung back in the shadows, waiting until the guy had slipped his hand under the girl’s tiny mini skirt – and it didn’t take him long – before he moved into sight. The girl spotted him first but didn’t make a sound, clearly unperturbed by the random stranger watching them, but she soon made a sound when Gerard seized the man by the hair and dragged him away.

“Hey! What are you doing!? Get off him!” She screeched and Gerard grabbed her by the top of her head, snapping her head sharply to the left to break her neck before he let her fall lifelessly to the floor. The man gawped at her in shock and opened his mouth to scream but it was swallowed by Gerard’s mouth attacking his. He gasped and gave a small strangled cry of shock, Gerard seeming to kiss him passionately but the crimson blood slowly trickling from the corner of the man’s mouth and making a trail down his chin said otherwise.

Gerard groaned deep in his throat and closed his eyes, holding the man tight in a death grip as he sucked the blood straight from his mouth, biting his tongue and his lips, sucking hard enough to draw it up from the man’s throat and swallowing it all down, destroying his lungs to kill him whilst he was at it. It was probably the most painful way to feed for the victim but if the sick fuck was gonna mess around with drunk underage girls then Gerard guessed he pretty much deserved it.

After he had drawn up as much as he could Gerard lunged to the man’s neck, biting just past his jugular but not bothering to move as hot blood gushed into his hungry mouth. He drank and drank until he felt positively bloated with it, finally letting the man go and stumbling away once the body had crumpled to the floor. He didn’t bother to clean up after himself, he would be long gone back to Salem before anyone found the dead couple.

Gerard had killed people when feeding before but not in a long time, only when he had been young and out of control, drunk from the power. He guessed he had fancied himself to be like God back then but he had grown out of that. Now though he just ached to transfer the pain he was feeling into someone else, but now the blood lust had disappeared he only felt even more empty; though his now beating heart was some small comfort.

The moon was high and bright that night and Gerard sighed, gazing up at it feeling a little drunken from all the alcohol that had tainted the stranger’s blood. He was finally a lost soul, just drifting through the unfamiliar streets as people walked by, ignoring him. His charm had disappeared, left in the manor when he had ran away. For the first time since he had ‘died’ he felt dead.

After an hour of walking Gerard came to a large park, a rose garden and lake bathed in the moons glow and he sighed, stumbling down to the water’s edge where he collapsed down onto his backside and hunched his knees up to his chest. He laid his torso against the front of his thighs and rested his head on his knees, closing his eyes and sighing deeply. His heart hurt... actually hurt. It had been left beaten and bruised when Darius had killed himself and though Gerard had never realised it before, he could tell it now. He tried to remember if he had ever really grieved for his maker but he simply couldn’t remember, it had been too long ago and he had worked to forget it.

He supposed it was only natural to be hurt by things like that, but that so human. Of course though Gerard had loved him, truly adored him and for the first time in centuries he had lost the strength to hold the pain back and it washed over him now like a great plague. He groaned and pressed tighter into his knees, clenching his teeth in pain as his nails dug into the ground. It hurt like nothing had ever hurt before and he sobbed dryly, his head pounding from the effort of struggling with all the thoughts screaming to be heard.

Darius had killed himself and Gerard had loved him. He missed him deeply and was just stumbling along like a child in the dark, desperate for a hand to guide him. Darius had left him too soon, leaving him to figure out how to survive alone and Gerard hated him for it. He had come so far, had learnt so much, he was everything he had wanted to be and had convinced himself that everything was perfect. But of course it wasn’t. It wasn’t perfect because he was lonely. He had been lonely for hundreds of fucking years because that son of bitch had left him.

Gerard couldn’t stop the tears anymore and he began to sob into his knees, gripping at his hair as his body rocked with the force of his tears. Was he grieving? Was he just weak? He felt it, he felt like all his strength had gone and everything seemed to be turning black inside him. This was why he couldn’t stand to be around Frank that night, because he had unintentionally allowed the human into his life and suddenly he had realised how good it felt to have a companion. Frank was perfect, he had been everything he needed and just hadn’t known it. But he had been too afraid to get close to him, to... love him. Gerard couldn’t love Frank because sooner or later he would die and then he’d leave him, just like Darius left him, and his body had already repressed too much pain to hold back anymore.

But it was too late now anyway, even without getting close to Frank the dams and walls Gerard had unknowingly build had given up and collapsed and now every ounce of pain he had ignored came flooding out. He didn’t know what had really caused it, Frank’s saying no? Frank’s intimate moment with Bob?

Gerard gasped and shuddered, falling onto his side and shaking violently as he cried. He couldn’t lie to himself, he had been jealous. Of course he had. Seeing Frank and Bob like that had made him sick because he didn’t want them so close, he wanted Frank all to himself because he needed him, needed his companionship and his care and his love. No one had ever loved Gerard since Darius, and Gerard had thought he could never love anyone either. But how could he tell himself that? How could he think he wasn’t in love when every moment he wasn’t with Frank felt like a waste. When every time Frank’s eyes wandered to someone else Gerard’s heart twisted just a little.

He wanted to go to him now, wanted to curl up into his arms and have him comfort him but he knew it would only kill them both. Frank was tired and confused and there was too much history for Gerard to explain so that he would truly understand. Besides, Gerard couldn’t tell Frank he loved him until his body had worked out every drop of grief he still held for Darius. That night he had to bleed it out, pick himself up, wring himself out and dry his aching body of the flood before he could return home.

Gerard hadn’t felt pain in a long time, but that night he knew he was going to suffer more pain than he had in all of his existence so far.

>X<

Frank sighed and mewled softly into the pillow he had snuggled up to, his arms wrapped around it as if it were a person and he purred softly. Despite everything he had slept soundly throughout the night and he felt so much better for it when he slowly began to wake up.

He yawned and smiled softly, slowly raising his hands to rub at his eyes and blinked against his palms. He moved his hands away carefully, blinking in the harsh sunlight flooding into the room and he huffed gently, his heart suddenly aching when he saw the bed was still empty beside him. He sighed and shoved the pillow back into its place, bowing his head. He had thought Gerard would be back by now... he could still remember everything that had happened the night before clearly but he didn’t feel angry about it. In fact he only felt sad that Gerard still wasn’t back.

Gerard watched Frank with tired eyes from the window seat, his body still aching and exhausted from his rough night but he had showered when he had returned and was no longer covered in dirt and grass stains. He had never gone through anything quite like it before and his head still hurt, but he also felt great relief. Lighter almost. It was something he had needed to do for a long time and as he gazed at his boyfriend in the bed he realised properly how much he cared for him. He didn’t want Frank as simple pet anymore, just a naive human to feed from. He wanted to stay with him forever.

Frank sighed and slowly turned in the bed, considering getting up and making some breakfast in the hopes of taking his mind off Gerard for a while. Maybe he’d be back soon and – Frank’s eyes grew wide when he suddenly saw said vampire sat on the window seat, gazing softly at him with bloodshot eyes. For a long moment there was a tense silence, both men just staring until Gerard offered a weak smile and Frank shot from the bed.

Gerard wasn’t sure what Frank was planning to do as he raced over to him but he braced himself for a hit just in case, it was what he’d deserve anyway. But to his great relief Frank didn’t hit him but instead flung himself into his arms and held him tight, burying his face into his neck.

“Gerard.” He breathed softly, his eyelashes tickling the vampire’s neck. “You’re back...” He sighed, Gerard nodding and wrapping his arms snug around his waist, gently stroking his lower back as the two of them smiled softly.

“Sorry I took off so suddenly. I... I had to work some stuff out. I’m better now though.” He whispered, Frank nodding and just accepting it without question. Gerard was glad no more needed to be said, he didn’t want to let Frank know the details of his night anymore than Frank wanted to hear them, both men just content to hold each other for a long moment.

Frank sighed and breathed in the sweet toffee scent off Gerard’s skin. He had known buying him that “indulgent sundae” shower gel had been a good idea. Since vampires didn’t appear to have their own individual scents like humans did Frank never tired of buying every delicious shower gel and cologne he could find just so he could inhale the smell off his boyfriends milky skin. Gerard had been irritated by it at first but he must be warming to it if he had used it.

“I missed you.” Frank whispered, surprised when Gerard held him closer and kissed his cheek, his lips lingering there for a moment.

“I missed you too.” He purred, seeming to actually mean it and Frank pulled back to look at him. He could see a change in the vampire’s eyes but he couldn’t tell what it was exactly. It made him feel safer than he ever had though, almost trance like and he smiled gently, cupping Gerard’s cheek as he leaned forward to tenderly connect their lips.

Gerard smiled weakly and stroked a hand to Frank’s neck as their lips worked slowly together, pouting and parting in time as they shared one of the sweetest kisses either had ever experienced with anyone, let alone together. Gerard could hear Frank’s heart begin to hammer in his chest and he knew if his was still beating it would be doing the same. Electricity seemed to dance across their skin and Frank pressed closer, lapping his tongue shyly against Gerard’s lower lip until the older man readily granted him access.

Gerard purred huskily as his tongue touched against Franks and moved in a gentle rhythm. Neither of them fought for dominance, both too tired and relaxed to try. Gerard sighed and gently slid an arm beneath Frank’s ass, lifting him with ease and carrying him back to the bed. Frank smiled and wrapped his legs around Gerard’s waist as soon as his back hit the sheets. He could tell Gerard was exhausted but if he wanted to do this Frank wasn’t complaining, the night suddenly seemed a very long time ago and all he could think of now was Gerard and how perfect he made him feel.

“Mm... Mmm... I love you.” Frank whispered, just needing to say it, but this time it didn’t hang in the air like something toxic and solid, a ton of bricks waiting to fall and kill them both. No... this time it was like a whisper of air, a soft breeze that Gerard inhaled into his lungs. Frank relaxed until he was practically melted into the sheets, not needing to hear it back. The fact that Gerard didn’t tense when he heard it was more than enough for now.

Gerard smiled and stroked his hands down Frank’s body, his warm skin exactly what he needed to feel. His gentle words didn’t worry him anymore and he liked that. He kept on kissing the human as tenderly as he could, stripping them both down until they were naked and their bodies slotted together.

Frank was already painfully hard and he moaned deeply when Gerard wrapped a hand around his erection, pumping slowly and squeezing repeatedly until pre cum began to leak from the tip. Frank groaned huskily and bit his lip ring, his whole body blushing so beautifully Gerard just had to kiss everywhere. He trailed his lips over Frank’s jaw, sucking and nipping gently at his neck before licking across his collar bones to the dip between them. Frank tipped his head back and arched his hips up, mewling his delight as Gerard kissed down to one of his pink nipples and took it between his teeth. He rolled the nub and lapped at it with his tongue, his hand easily spreading Frank’s legs.

“Ooh... mm..” Frank smiled dreamily and savoured every sensation Gerard made him feel, their bodies feeling as if they were charged with static, crackling and sparking with every touch, and he knew Gerard could feel it too. That was what made it so perfect.

Gerard trailed his kisses further once he was satisfied he had teased Frank’s nipples enough. He took his time kissing down his flat stomach and hip bones, making his way down his thighs and calves all the way to his ankles before he moved back up. He took one of his hands and kissed his palm, kissing tenderly to his wrist and up his arm before he did the same on the other side. Frank’s erection was throbbing painfully but he didn’t ask Gerard to go any faster, the slow pace too good to interrupt.

Gerard smiled softly once he had kissed mostly everywhere and made his way back to Frank’s lips, kissing him gently again. It only took a second or two before their tongues were once more entwined, purring and mewling into each other’s mouths until it was difficult to tell who was making what noise.

Gerard found the usual vial of oil and quickly rubbed it over his hard length, the veins pulsing and the head leaking with pre cum as his body shivered in anticipation. He couldn’t stand holding back any longer and he nudged against Frank’s ass, lining against the tight ring of muscle and sliding into him in one fluid movement. By now Frank’s body was already adjusted to him and there was no need to wait, Frank mewling his pleasure as his legs came up to rest around Gerard’s waist, his ankles hooking above his ass.

“Mm... k – kiss me again...” Frank pleaded softly and Gerard gladly complied, their lips locking together but not moving as the vampire began to move slowly inside the human.

Gerard kept the pace slow and gentle, rocking his hips against Frank’s soft ass and finding his prostate without even really meaning to. Frank exhaled shakily and tangled his hands into Gerard’s hair, his koala grip keeping him close and allowing the vampire to find that perfect angle.

Frank’s head was spinning in a blissful, drunken haze as Gerard rocked tenderly into him. Their lips parted after a while and they shared their oxygen, moaning quietly together and resting their foreheads against one another’s.

Gerard felt perfect, fully seated in his boyfriend and feeling whole because of it. He had that cliché human feeling of being complete, as if their bodies were made to fit together, like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, but of course Gerard knew that was only a lovesick fantasy. No one was made for just one other person, how else would he be able to feel like this with Frank and Darius? Though he had never topped with Darius. It didn’t matter anyway, he felt perfect and complete and whether that was just fantasy or reality it didn’t concern him, he was happy to let the clichés reign if only for a moment.

Frank mewled softly as he gently massaged his fingers through Gerard’s hair, the pleasure building in him rapidly thanks to Gerard’s perfect position against his sweet spot, rubbing and bumping against it without giving him time to come down from the incredible bursts of pleasure. He whimpered how close he was into Gerard’s mouth but the vampire only smiled, purring for him to let go and Frank was only too happy to do so.

“Oh... mmm.... unnn.... Oh God, Gerard... I – I love you...” He gasped, the sweet, gentle pace driving him crazy and he arched his back up, pressing his ass down on Gerard’s engorged length so that Gerard felt the full force of his clenching muscles when he climaxed.

When Frank came he released a delicate gasp, tinged with just a tiny bit of sound and it made Gerard’s body ripple with delight. There really was nothing more painfully beautiful than Frank when he came and Gerard soon followed him with his own orgasm, pressing their bodies tight together and groaning quietly himself as he spilled deep inside the human.

Frank shuddered and mewled, wrapping his arms tighter around Gerard as his cold cum filled him, running out onto the sheets as his own hot cum spattered over his stomach and chest. His sensitive erection got trapped between their bodies and the extra stimulation caused him to shake once roughly, his muscles straining as they forced out every drop of cum he had to give before both he and Gerard collapsed together on the sheets, panting heavily.

Gerard’s body was tingling all over and his softening length was too sensitive to pull out of Frank just yet, but the human didn’t seem to mind, his anguished mewl causing Gerard to wait when he tried to move.

“D – Don’t... not yet... k – keep it... keep it in...” Frank whispered almost shamefully, his cheeks blazing with embarrassment. He couldn’t help it, he just felt so full and complete with Gerard seated inside him that he couldn’t bear to lose the feeling yet. Gerard chuckled softly and gently kissed Frank, understanding completely, feeling relieved that he didn’t have to move yet.

For a long, blissful moment the two men lay together like that, sharing tender, breathless kisses as Frank purred his love over and over. Gerard didn’t say it back but Frank knew, deep inside he knew... Gerard felt the same. His stomach filled with butterflies as they kissed and he stroked his leg up and down the back of Gerard’s thigh. He didn’t know nor care whether the vampire would ever admit it himself but Frank knew that they hadn’t had sex just then, but for the first time they had made love.

Bob shuffled back to his bed slowly, his body weak and aching but a soft smile was playing about his lips. He felt much better and he knew that Frank would be coming to see him soon having received a text from him promising to come over as soon as he and Gerard had had breakfast. Bob didn’t even mind that Gerard would be coming too, just so happy to be feeling a little like his old self again.

Bob had spent most of the previous day sleeping once Frank had left, and he had slept straight through the whole night too. His body still needed much more rest but he could tell he was healing and he hoped he would be allowed to go home within a day or two. He still didn’t know who or what had saved him that day he slit his throat but he didn’t really mind, he supposed in his mind he would always be convinced it had been his guardian angel.

“Hey, psst.” Bob paused, looking around blankly and gripping tightly to the metal frame that held the different liquids dripping into his body. The thing was a pain in the ass to lug around every time he needed to walk to the toilet but he had told the doctor he’d rather do that then get hooked up to one of those pee bag things... A tube going down there really was not Bob’s idea of fun. Though the frame was coming in handy now to support his weight as he looked around to see who had spoken.

“Over here.” The voice whispered and Bob turned around, staring at the old man who he had seen briefly the day before. He was leaning out of a curtain surrounding a bed a couple beds down from Bob’s. His grey hair was like a mane around his head and for a man so old he had a lot of it.

“Erm... yeah?”

“Come here boy, quickly.” He demanded, shuffling back behind the curtains and Bob hesitated a moment before shrugging. It wasn’t like the guy could hurt him. He sighed and forced his lethargic body to move down to the bed, slowly reaching it and slipping through the curtains.

The old man had sat down on his bed, his legs stretched out in front of him on top of the sheets. He was surrounded by paper and wax crayons in only the three primary colours along with a black. Each piece of paper had been scribbled on with drawings that only a three year old could be proud of. It seemed, though Bob couldn’t be sure, that they were drawings of vampires and bats.

“Sit, boy.” The old man grunted, waving at a chair beside his bed where visitors would sit. Bob did as he asked, grateful for a chance to rest and he looked at the man suspiciously.

“Who are you?” He asked curiously, the man’s shaking hands carefully gathering up all the paper and making it into a neat stack which he then placed on his nightstand, the four crayons being placed in a little cardboard box. Bob wondered if they’d been taken from the children’s ward for him.

“Mr. Brown.” The man replied, looking to Bob. “And what is your name?” He demanded, his voice surprisingly strong for a man his age. Bob hesitated a second before giving his first name, the old man nodding as if he had already known and approved of Bob’s choice to tell him anyway.

“The man here yesterday. You know him.” He stated, his words rapid and running into each other as he stared at Bob intently with bloodshot, watery blue eyes.

“I... yes. Which one?” Bob asked blankly, feeling more and more confused as the old man described Gerard. “Yes, I know him. He’s my friends boyfriend, I don’t particularly like him but –”

“Good! Then you sense it.” The old man gasped, Bob blinking stupidly for a moment before shaking his head.

“Sense what?”

“That man is no good for your friend. For anyone. You must warn your friend, you must get him away from that man.” The old man’s voice was so full of conviction that despite how absurd he was being Bob couldn’t stop a cold shiver running down his spine.

“What makes you say that?” He breathed. Did this man know Gerard? Did he know something about him? Something Bob could use to break him and Frank up.

“He is... one of them...”

“One of what?”

“The damned.” The old man’s voice suddenly suited him, growing weak and husky. It was suddenly as frail as a leaves skeleton and Bob shuddered, his eyes wide.

“The damned?”

“Yes...” The old man croaked, licking his dry lips and giving Bob a pleading look. “He is... a vampire.” He breathed, Bob staring at him for a long moment before he slumped in the chair and sighed. He could remember the old man shouting that yesterday but of course it was all ridiculous, vampires didn’t exist.

“You like vampires huh?” Bob sighed, looking again to the stack of crude drawings but the old man snapped his attention back to him with an angry wail.

“Like them? Like them!? Are you crazy boy!? They are the damned, the devil! I do not LIKE them! And neither should your friend! You must save him!” He cried loudly, Bob hushing him quickly and waving his hands, not wanting him to draw attention to them.

“Hey shh shh, shut up already!” He hissed, the old man falling quiet but he pursed his lips angrily. “Vampires don’t exist.” Bob scoffed and the old man’s scowl deepened.

“Really? You’re sure about that?” He asked, lifting his hospital gown just high enough to reach his knees, revealing bite marks all over his legs. Bob gasped and got to his feet, staring in horror at the marks, some of them old but some of them clearly new.

“I... Are you trying to tell me that a vampire did that to you?” He breathed, staring in surprise as Mr Brown laughed wheezily, dropping his gown back down and shaking his head.

“Of course not! A vampire’s bite would heal in minutes. No... those are done by myself.” He whispered bluntly, Bob shaking his head in a daze and staring at the man.

“What!?”

“Look, I’ll show you.” Mr Brown sat forward and slowly raised his leg, the limb shaking from the effort but somehow, making it look ridiculously easy, he managed to lift it to his face, bowing his head and bearing yellowed teeth before cried at him to stop.

“Are you insane!?” He gasped, grimacing from the sight. Men that age should never pull positions like that, no matter how flexible they were. Bob was pretty sure he had never been able to get his leg up like that but the urge to try had well and truly disappeared forever now. “You bite yourself!?”

“I must.” The old man nodded solemnly. “The more I bite myself the more my body must change to save me. My blood doesn’t flow as readily from bites anymore, it’s like a form of personal evolution. That way it would be too much effort for a vampire to feed from me. I recommend you and your friend start to do the same, you can bite your arms if you can’t reach your leg.” He shrugged, smiling like a wise old owl as Bob just gawped at him. The man was nuts. Completely and utterly bonkers. He hadn’t just lost his marbles, he had locked them in a box and thrown it out to sea. If his blood really did run less freely then that was probably just because he was old, all that personal evolution shit was just... shit. No wonder he lived in a hospital.

“You’re mad.” Bob breathed, shaking his head and grabbing his metal frame, going to leave but the old man spoke up quickly.

“Maybe, but I knows a vampire when I see one. I’m telling you young man, that friend of yours is in deep trouble. That vampire won’t last until he sees the end of him, and probably you too.”

“As if, you’re fucking mental.” Bob spat, shaking his head and shuffling away as quickly as his aching body would allow him and this time Mr Brown didn’t try to stop him.

Bob hurried back to his bed and hauled himself into it, Christine fast asleep in the little camp bed the nurses had set up for her the previous night. Bob sighed and fidgeted for a while, pulling his frame close to the bed and moving all the wires until he could lay back comfortably. He sighed and closed his eyes, shaking his head slowly. That man was bonkers, no question about it. All that stuff he had said was just.. insane. Bob knew that... he knew it... and yet, he couldn’t stop the sense of dread that fell over him like a black shroud.
