THE "I" IN LIE
Chapter 1: And It's Just Lust
The coffee I'm drinking is getting cold, as I look through the window of the coffee shop I'm currently sitting in. The sign across the street reads: TONIGHT PATRICK STUMP! with Special Guests The Cab and Cobra Starship. My absolute dream concert! My stomach starts to tingle. I think back to how I came to be here…
---------------------------------------------
The sun was shining ruthlessly in my face as it woke me up. Dammit, I'd forgotten to close the blinds the previous night… Beside me the bed was empty, he'd already gone to work, as he always started really early.
Well, I was awake so might as well get out of bed. I sat up, stretched and got dressed in my usual sweats.
I was rubbing the sleep out of my eyes as I walked in to the kitchen to make some coffee. Thank God for coffee!
I sat down at the table to wait for the coffee to be done and as usual I logged into Twitter on my phone to see what had happened since last night. First off, Patrick Stump, that genius man!
"Good news! I'm going on tour next month! Check out the dates on my site. I need help putting up posters, let me know if you can help me out"
I felt my face light up in a grin from ear to ear. YES! I got really excited! I didn't dare to get my hopes up too high, but maybe I'd finally be able to see him live…
I needed to get my heart rate down a little… I poured myself a cup of coffee before I wrote "Nervous Breakdance" in the search bar.
I closed my eyes for a second and crossed my fingers. I opened my eyes and looked at the list of dates. The tour did indeed start in about a month, and I slowly went down the list. My frown got bigger the further down the list I went… then… there, third from the bottom… Oh my God!!! Patrick was coming here! My heart was beating like a jack hammer. Finally! The date was more than two months away, but HE WAS COMING! I couldn't believe it…
So now I needed to figure out when the tickets got released. I clicked my way around the internet and found out that the release date was still a couple of weeks away. Shit! Well, guess I had no option but to wait…
I could still tell Patrick I would love to help with the posters though. I wrote a reply on Twitter:
"@PatrickStump I'm so happy that you're coming to my city! I'd love to help put up posters. How do I get a hold of them?"
I pushed send and started to get on with my day as usual with the slight difference that I had been playing "Soul Punk" unusually loud.
Later that night I got a couple of DM's from Patrick and my belly had started to fill with butterflies as it always did when he wrote to me:
"Really looking forward to this tour. Thanks for wanting to help out! Send your address in an e-mail to my management (c)"
"and they will send you the posters. As thanks you'll get early entry to the concert. And maybe, a surprise, haha"
What? A surprise? AND early entry? Too good to be true! I immediately started on an e-mail to Patrick's management.
Two weeks later the ticket was bought. I hadn't managed to find anyone to go to the concert with me, but I hadn't really cared. I was going, even if it meant I was going alone. I was unbelievably happy!
I had been wanting to see Patrick live again ever since my last Fall Out Boy concert. Especially since the release of "Soul Punk". That album was pure eargasm!
My guy didn't really get me, but still he was kind of happy for me since he knew that Patrick was an important part of my life. He wasn't even that jealous, even though he knew I thought Patrick was sexy as fuck. I guess he realized that Patrick was too unattainable to be a real threat anyway… Just a little bit of a celebrity crush. He had a point.
I received the posters the day after I'd bought my ticket and the instructions to put them up about two weeks before the concert.
The day before Patrick's concert, I'd been giddy all day. I Tweeted Patrick:
"@PatrickStump I'm soooo excited about tomorrow! FINALLY! And I got early entry too, YAY! See you tomorrow Patrick!"
I went to my closet, opened it and frowned… I was finally going to see my inspiration live, but what the hell was I going to wear? After about half an hour I had decided on an outfit that accentuated my good parts and down played my not-as-good parts. I looked kinda good actually. Snap, I looked damn good to be quite honest! I changed into my sweats again and put the outfit on a hanger on the closet door.
I thought I needed a distraction from Patrick for awhile. I had been breathing and talking about him non-stop ever since he announced the tour. My man and friends were getting sick of me... So I went to the kitchen and made myself a cup of tea. Then went in to the couch and snuggled up to my guy. Our favorite show was on TV that night.
I grabbed my phone during the first commercial break, just to check. I mean maybe Patrick had answered my Tweet… Yeah, I'm delusional! He was busy obviously.
"Haha! Glad to see you're excited! Me too, haven't been to your city in forever. I'm also looking forward to your surprise, haha"
I inhaled sharply!
"What is it?" my guy asked and turned to look at me slightly.
"Oh, nothing… Umm, one of the girls on Twitter's got a new car from her husband," I said.
The lie had come easily out of my mouth, ready made. I didn't even know why I lied… Maybe I thought that the "surprise-part" would knock my not-so-jealous guy into full-on-rabbit-boiling-mode.
"Huh, hope you're not expecting the same," he said with a smirk, looking back at the TV.
"And why not, if I may ask?" I punched him playfully on the arm.
"Ha Ha!" he said sarcastically and flipped me off.
Puh! Dodged that bullet! He didn't seem to suspect anything.
"Um, I'm just gonna write her congrats," I told him.
"Yeah, whatever… It's starting now," he said, gesturing at the TV.
What was I going to write? Couldn't believe that Patrick was excited to come here. And the surprise… What was it? My stomach had been all in chaos. But I just had to write something back to that DM, hadn't I?
"@PatrickStump Oh, come on Patrick! You big tease! Tell me? Please? smiles sweetly at you"
It didn't even take three minutes for me to get another DM:
"Even though I appreciate a sweet smile, the whole point of a surprise is that it IS a surprise! Don't worry, I think you'll like it. (c)"
A couple seconds later:
"When you get to the door, tell them your name, you'll get early entry and ask for Paul. Hope you sleep well"
Gaahh! How the hell was I gonna be able to sleep after that!?! Fucking tease! I loved it!
This morning I woke up way before the sun was up. I had been sleeping restlessly, tossing and turning.
I stayed in bed and started to think of a very vivid dream of myself and Patrick. We'd been at a beach, like we were a couple. Bathing, drinking umbrella drinks and of course having wild passionate sex.
Oh my God! I'd gotten all hot and bothered just thinking about it. Patrick was so fucking sexy and that dream was no exception. We were on a sun bed on the beach and all of a sudden there were no other people around. He'd started to undress me with hunger burning in his eyes. Then he'd went on fucking me like I'd never been fucked before. He'd been way more rough than I'd ever dreamed of before. The way he had taken me with no mercy, slamming into me over and over and over again. I'd been screaming loudly in pleasure. The orgasms had raged though my body in spasms. I remembered he had watched me with the most devilish sexy smirk one could ever imagine. And right after that he had come with an animalistic growl… And then I woke up!
Oh, damn! I'd got so horny just remembering that dream. I knew I was home alone… My hand had slowly worked its way down my body of its own accord. I'd placed it on my wetness, that really was yearning for something other than a hand. Before long I'd been reaching climax, moaning loudly and picturing Patrick's face as I came hard.
Laying on the bed panting and grinning I'd thought: oops... guess I needed that. Actually, it had been the perfect way to start concert-day. It was finally here!
I got up, walked to the bathroom and jumped in the shower. I showered a long time. Took extra care to shave my legs, didn't even know why. Guess I just wanted to feel I looked nice through and through.
Dried off and put on matching panties and bra in a perfect color for my skin. I got in my robe and went to make coffee.
I got to the place of the concert kind of early. There were like ten people outside already. I went up to the door and told the tall bouncer-looking guy standing there my name. He looked down at the list he had on a clip board.
"Yeah, okay… early entry… tha's 'bout in an hour. Tha's two hours earlier than the rest," he said with a smile.
"Also, I was supposed to ask for Paul…" I said, lowering my voice so the others in the line wouldn't hear and do the same.
"Yeah, says 'ere tha' you're VIP. Donn worry, sweetheart…" he'd said smiling at me with a little bit of understanding. Sort of the way you smile at someone else's two year old having a tantrum.
VIP? Shut the fuck up! That was amazing! I wondered what that meant exactly…
"Oh... Okay, thanks…" I said sheepishly.
"Why dontcha go ge'r a coffee or som'tin'? Ge' back 'ere in an hour an' I'll let ya straight in. Okay, hun?" he said in a mumbling voice. He didn't annunciate very well, but I got the gist.
I had decided to ignore the fact that I hated being called 'sweetheart' and 'hun' like that, like I was an air head. I had taken him up on his advice though and went to the coffee shop across the street. I might as well have stayed out in the line because I didn't exactly relax. I sat on the edge of my seat and kept looking over at the clock. I took out a mirror from my overly sized handbag and checked my make-up and hair. Still looked as it did when I walked out the door at home. Tick, tock, tick, tock.. The longest hour of my life!
-------------------------------------------
I blink rapidly and get back to the present. Well, that was an efficient waste of time. Suddenly it's time to go. I get up, put on my jacket, pick up my bag, walk out the door and cross the street.
That same guy is still standing there.
"Hiya, sweetheart!" he says with a grin as I approach.
"Hi!"
"Well, come right in why dontcha," he says as he opens the door behind him, grinning even bigger, if that was possible. "Have fun, darlin'!"
"Um, thanks!" I say with a small smile.
The room is kind of dim lit and I can only see one person in it. He is on the stage that is set up in the back of the room. I take off my jacket as I walk up to him. He's kneeling on the stage floor fiddling with some cables. He doesn't seem to notice me. I clear my throat. The guy looks up with surprise in his eyes and raised eyebrows.
"Hi" I say, "I'm looking for Paul."
"Oh," he says,"just a sec, I'll go get him."
He connects a few more cables before he gets up, smiles at me and walks backstage.
I wait a minute and a guy that looks about forty walks up to me. He's in a black suit and has dark hair. He sticks out his hand to me, I shake it and tell him my name.
"Hello, nice to meet you! I'm Paul. I'm Patrick's tour manager. Welcome!" he says with a very friendly smile. "So weird thing is, you're the only VIP in this place. So I guess it's extra special this time…"
Whoa! Suddenly I get real nervous… I smile weakly at Paul. He grins at me.
"Don't be nervous. The guys are all really nice, just treat them like you would anybody else and you'll be fine."
"Wh-what?" I'm totally confused.
Paul laughs:
"Hahaha, so by the look on your face Patrick didn't tell you?"
"Ehm, no…" I'm feeling stupider by the second.
"Yes, Patrick does like his little surprises… So VIP on this tour means early entry, obviously you got that already, and you also get to go backstage before the show and meet the guys," he says. "Oh, if you'd like to, that is?" he adds, raising his eyebrows.
"Holy crap!" my mouth moves before my brain.
Paul laughs a little.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I meant to say, yes please!" I blurt out, with a slight red tinge on my cheeks.
"You need a second to calm down maybe?" he looks at me with the same look I'm sure he gives hysterical fangirls.
In this exact moment I feel my knees wobble a little.
"Yeah, give me a minute," I say.
"No problem," he smiles patiently.
I look around, see the sign for the ladies room and walk to it quickly. As soon as I close the door behind me I do the cliché sliding down the wall and hug my knees to my chest. My heart is going a mile a minute and I just stare into space without actually looking at anything. I stay like that for a couple of minutes, I think.
I get up and walk to the sink. Wash my hands, re-freshen my lipgloss, fix my hair with a couple of strokes of my hands and I also pop a mint Tic-Tac in my mouth. I take a deep breath in through my nose and out though my mouth. I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be. With one last semi-confident smile at the mirror I walk out the door.
