Jimmy's P.O.V
Another day in the world of ultimate crappiness. I woke up to that familiar scent of bourbon and cigarettes. I managed to drag myseld out of my bed, with one quick glance at the clock, I began to slowly dress myself. In all black to match my mood, black t-shirt, black jeans, black hoodie and black Chuck Taylors. I smirked knowing that I was an hour late for college. Usually my alcoholic mother would have woken me up, but she gave up long ago after I had screamed at her to 'Fuck off'. Whilst brushing my teeth, I stared at my reflection in the mirror. A pale looking boy stared back at me with hazel eyes, his raven hair was sticking up out of place and his eyeliner from last night was smudged all around his eyes. I looked away quickly not wanting to see my sickening reflection anymore. I slowly crept downstairs, trying not to wake that bitch, she was probably passed out on the couch.
"Jimmy is that you?" She croaked from the living room. I rolled my eyes and walked in to see her, as I guessed she was sprawled out on the couch with a bottle of beer in one hand.
"Who else would it be?" I snatched the bottle out of her hand, "You said you would stop drinking, mom."
"I will, tomorrow." She groaned.
With full force I threw the bottle at the wall, watching it shatter to pieces.
"Fuck you." I spat hastily before storming out the door. I was sick of all her false promises, she could go to hell for all I cared.
I swung the door to the music class open. All eyes were on me, as usual. Mr.Williams' back was still turned facing the board, I cleared my throat to let him know that I was there.
"Take your seat Jimmy."
I could tell that he was fed up with him. Good, I wanted to get out of this class, out of this world infact.
"How about I take your seat?" I didn't bother to wait for him to reply, I sat on his chair and swung around stupidly.
"I don't have time for your pathetic little games, either you get out of my seat or you get out of class, head up to Mr.King's office!" Williams shouted. I shrugged and walked out of the classroom with a satisfied grin on my face. This was it, I was finally going to be expelled, hopefully. I would never have to step foot in this shithole again.
"Sit down Jimmy." Mr.King said impatiently. This was my sixth visit to his office this week.
"Am I expelled? Can I go now?"
"Expelled? God no." He rubbed his temple and peered up at me. What the fuck did he mean 'no'?
"Expel me!" I demanded. He shook his head and flicked through a folder.
"You're being transferred to another class." He said calmly.
I stared at him in shock, he was obviously not being serious. Was he?
"The only place I want to be transferred to is my home." I slammed my fist on the desk.
"Calm down Jimmy, this is happening whether you like it or not."
"Don't I have a say in any of this?!"
He sighed, "Look, if you're so desperate to drop out of college then I'll arrange a meeting with your mother."
There was no way I was going to inform my mom about any of this, she wouldn't give a shit anyways and she would probably show up drunk.
"You know what? Nevermind." I muttered. I guess I would have to suck it up and accept the transfer.
"Is something going on at home?"
I was sick of being asked the same question every fucking minute. Mr.King could ask all he wanted but I wouldn't dare tell him anything. My life is none of their business.
"No." I snapped. He nodded his head and opened the office door.
"Well I guess I better show you to your new class then."
I followed him down the hallway and out of the building, we entered another building that I had never been in before. It was smaller than the rest of the buildings on campus.
"What if this doesn't work out? Then can you expel me?" I blurted out.
"Trust me, it will." He laughed quietly. Fucking douche.
We approached a blue coloured door and King knocked lightly on the door. I could hear a male teacher screaming at the students. The door opened and the teacher glared at me, his green eyes bore into mine in an unfriendly manner.
"Mr.Armstrong, this is the student I told you about. The new addition to your class. Benjamin Taylors."
"It's Jimmy, get it right." I muttered.
Armstrong frowned at me before running a hand through his black hair. King ushered me into the classroom, instantly everyone looked up at me.
"Mr.King can I talk to you for a second." Armstrong shut the classroom door and followed Mr.King down the hallway.
Girls whispered and exchanged weird looks. While the boys muttered to eachother, I knew that they were talking about me.
"Aren't you that troublesome kid from building 101?" A girl asked curiously, I nodded my head in response.
"Fag." A boy said under his breath, but loud enough for me to hear. I was used to being judged by how I dressed, but I knew well that I wasn't a homosexual. I had hooked up with so many chicks that I had lost count, even though the sex sucked.
"Speak for yourself." I retorted.
He stood up and walked towards me, "What did you say?"
"Calling me a fag isn't going to change anything."
He was about to raise his fist when Mr.Armstrong stepped back into the room.
"Jack, sit the fuck down." He shouted, the boy raced back to his seat. Everyone instantly buried their heads into their books.
"Open up page 263 and do all the questions, from 1 to 45." He said, I stood there awkwardly, staring at the ground.
"But we haven't even done any of this." A girl whined.
"Then go fucking read the chapter. Thanks to Gloria, you can all also do the questions on page 274, making that a total of 90 questions for tomorrow. Get started now and have fun."
The whole class groaned and got to work. Mr.Armstrong sat at his desk and began to type something on his laptop. I wasn't sure if he knew I was still here, so I coughed loudly. He turned to me and eyed me.
"You." He beckoned me over to his desk.
"I have a name you know." I said quietly.
"Well I don't really give a shit about your name. I've a lot about you." He gave me an unfriendly glare.
Good, then he should know that I wouldn't be staying in his class for that long.
"You try any of the shit you pulled in building 101 and I swear that I'll make you regret it." He said through gritted teeth.
I was surprised at his words, had a teacher really just threatened me?
I glared back at him, "Whatever."
"Sit down over there, beside Kenneth." He pointed at a boy who was staring out the window and looking as if he couldn't wait for the bell to ring. I couldn't really see his face, as it was covered by his hair.
Kenneth looked up as I sat beside him. He didn't smile or anything but just simply blinked at me.
"Stay on your side and I'll stay on mine." He moved his books away from me, as if I would want to touch anything belonging to him.
"I'll pretend I care." I turned away from him.
I realised that I had nothing to do, Armstrong hadn't assigned me any work and it's not like I would do it anyways. I pulled out my phone and checked my recent messages.
One from some girl I had hooked up with the previous night, why didn't she understand that I didn't want a fucking serious relationship. Another one was from my mom, asking me to pick up beer on my way home. Ever since the divorce she had been acting like a huge mess.
"I'll take that."
My phone was pulled out of my hands. Mr. Armstrong placed it in his pocket and walked back to his desk. Great, there goes my phone. The boy who had called me a 'fag' earlier turned around to me.
"Dipshit." He mouthed, before flicking a ball of paper at my head. I looked around the classroom and saw that others were using their phones, even those sitting right at the front. He had taken my phone on purpose, that bastard.
The bell rang and I watched as students rushed out the door, obviously dying to get away from that jackass of a teacher.
I shoved my hands into my pocket and was about to walk out when Armstrong pulled me back.
"You try that phone shit again and there will be trouble." He whispered. I took my phone off him and hurried out the door. I couldn't believe that I would have to put up with him all year round. This would be a long and difficult year. As soon as I got out of the building, I lit myself a cigarette and rested my head against the wall. Screw him and screw everyone else in this damn place.
