Courtney sat awkwardly in her chair, watching her parents talk. How they could actually have a civilized conversation was far beyond her. Her father still wanted to kill her mother – at least that's what she thought.
"What about Elli?" her father asked.
Elli turned from Jay, looking at her father with wide, confused eyes. "What?" she asked.
"How have you been doing in school?" he asked.
After a while, Courtney just tuned her parents out. She didn't want to have to deal with whatever they were talking about.
"May I be excused?" she asked, placing her utensils beside her plate. "I'm not too hungry, and I'm getting pretty tired," she muttered.
"Sure," her mother shooed her away.
Courtney got out of the chair, squeaking as it pulled back, rushing up the stairs, going into her room, locking the door behind her and sitting on her bed. She doubted this would be the last she saw her father, and she hated it.
When her phone started ringing, her head whipped to the side. She saw Gerard's name on the caller ID, grabbing her phone instantly and answering. "Hey, Gee, what's up?" she said.
"I messed up. Big," he said, running his hand through his hair.
"Gerard, what happened?" she stressed.
"It slipped, Courtney. I'm so fuckin sorry, I didn't mean for it to happen," he said quickly, pacing back and forth.
"Gerard, please tell me you don't mean you told someone," her voice's pitch went higher than usual.
"My friend, Frank," he told her.
"Shit!" she screamed, covering her mouth, realizing her family might hear her. "When did you tell him? What did you tell him, Gerard?"
"Not too much. Just that I was dating a student, I didn't even specify which," he said. "Though, he might figure it out eventually," he added.
"Fuck. He wouldn't tell anyone, would he?" she asked desperately, biting her bottom lip, leaning against the wall.
"No, he wouldn't do that. At least, not if I told him not to."

"Well, what am I suppose to do?" Gerard asked. "Walk up to them and say 'Hi, we've met before, but let me properly introduce myself: I'm Gerard Way, and I'm in love with your daughter'? Don't you think your parents would kill me, either way?" he asked.
"Well, you're the one who wanted to tell them!" Courtney shouted, pointing at him.
"And now I'm regretting it," he mumbled.
"Well, maybe we shouldn't tell them, then. At least, not at least I've graduated," Courtney told him, reclining in the chair. "Either way, there's a chance my parents will get angry. Especially my mother."
"Well, we're gonna have to tell them at one point or another."
"Eloping doesn't seem too difficult," she whispered to herself. "Maybe after my father is imprisoned. Then we'll never have to tell them," she grumbled, crossing her arms.
"He's going to someday, you know that," Gerard said, sitting down next to her. "I promise you, it will happen eventually."
"Gee, you already should have called the cops. You know it's against the law to have that knowledge and not do anything about it, right? You were suppose to call the police long ago, Gerard," she shouted angrily, glaring at Gerard.
"I would, but don't you think they would suspect something?" he asked.
"No! Confiding in a teacher isn't unheard of, Gerard! Plenty of people do it, this is just your first year teaching. Wait until you've been teaching for about twenty years, then you'll see that it's not too much of a rarity."
"Well, it'd be a bit ridiculous –"
Courtney cut him off, "No, it wouldn't, Gee. It's completely normal."

Later that night, the doorbell was ringing at Courtney's house. "Courtney, would you mind getting that?" her mother asked, pointing at the door.
"Sure," she mumbled, "it's not like you're the one standing up," she mumbled, getting up from the couch, walking to the door, opening it to see her father standing on the welcome mat. "What are you doing here, Dad?" she asked bitterly.
"Just came to see my family. Is that a crime?" he asked.
"Considering what you call 'family bonding time,' yes. I'd definitely consider it a crime, as well as anyone else on the entire damned planet. You're getting in this house over my dead body."
"Is that so?" he asked. "Katherine," he called out. "Katherine, must our daughter be so adamant about letting me into the house?" he asked, shoving past Courtney.
Katherine sighed, glaring at Courtney, "Don't be so immature, Courtney. He's still your father, he just doesn't live with the family anymore," she said, dragging Courtney's father into the couch. "No matter what you say, he always will be your father."
"Technically," she responded, crossing her arms. "I'm going upstairs. Kelly is probably gonna kill me for not calling her for a while," she muttered, walking upstairs and into her bedroom.
She grabbed her phone, dialing Gerard's number. "Hey, what's up?" he asked.
"My dad came over," she said, letting herself fall onto her bed. "I don't trust him, Gee."
"You shouldn't," he told her. "Fuck, I really should have called the fucking police, huh?"
"You don't say?" Courtney said sarcastically, hearing footsteps rushing up the stairs. "Shit, I think he's coming in here," she told him. "I'm gonna lock the door, just a second," she told him, getting off of her bed, locking her bedroom door.
"If he so much as touches you, I'll come over there and fucking tear him apart."
"Now you're being ridiculous, Gee. He can't break a door down, he's too weak," she told him, sitting back down on her bed.
"Courtney, open the door," her father's gravelly, low voice was loudly consuming the room. "Courtney, please."
Courtney completely ignored him, pretending he didn't even exist, bothering to listen to nothing more than the soothing things Gerard was saying. "Courtney, are you even listening to me?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'm just trying to be as quiet as possible," she whispered, continuing to listening to Gerard as her father continually banged on the door.
"Let me in, you little cunt!" her father screamed, possibly attracting everyone in the house.
"Gerard," she said into the phone, moving higher in her bed, becoming fearful that her father would eventually find his way inside her bedroom. "Gee, please, I need help."
Suddenly, the door burst open, revealing Courtney's father, angry an exhausted. "You always seem to forget about the key on the top of the door," he said, closing the door behind him.
"Gee," she began, "h-he's in here. P-please, get help, do something, please!" her voice cracked.
Her father grabbed her phone, pressing the End Call button, not paying attention to what she just said or who she was talking to.

Tears streamed down Courtney's face, bruises adorning her body, and her entire body getting covered in a towel. She felt like a mess. Her father was acting like nothing happened, playing innocent, pretending to be some godly father figure. It killed Courtney, knowing that he was lying to almost everyone who ever cared about him.
She slowly began dressing again, pain surging through her body. "Jesus Christ," she muttered, putting on a t-shirt.
She walked downstairs, trying to avoid her father's gaze at all costs. She sat in the kitchen, away from the rest of her family, fumbling with her phone in her hand.
"Hey, Courtney," Alyson said, sitting next to her. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" Courtney asked, putting her phone in her pocket. "It's not like I'd rather be dead," she muttered sarcastically.
"Courtney, what's wrong? You know you can tell me anything, right?" she asked her sister, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm fine, Aly," Courtney replied, shoving her hand away. "I need to talk to somebody," she muttered, walking back up to her room, locking the door, keeping the key in her pocket.
"Courtney, what happened?" Gerard said worriedly.
"He... he's an a-asshole, G-Gee. I-I just wi-wish he would just st-stop," she stuttered, getting under the blankets on her bed, scrunching her body up.
"What did he do?" he asked.
"H-he touched me. He hurt me," she told him. "Gee, I'm in a lot of pain. I need help," she turned on her side, wincing.
"Shit," he muttered. "I'll be over in a few minutes. Your parents wouldn't mind, would they?"
"I doubt it. Their probably too busy in my mothers room. I swear, there was nothing intended, though," she added, smiling against the phone. "Please, just come over. I really need you here, Gee."
"Okay, I'll be there in a few minutes," he told her.
After a while, there was a knock on Courtney's bedroom door. "Who is it?" she asked.
"It's Gerard."
She got off of her bed, unlocking the door and opening it. "Hey, Gee," she smiled, pulling him inside her room.
"Are you okay?" Gerard asked immediately.
"Sort of," Courtney told him. "I'm in pain, but I think that's the worst part of everything. If the question is if I'm scarred or not, possibly."
"I want to see what he did to you," he muttered, running his fingers along a scar on her wrist. "Please."
"Gerard, I'd have to get naked," she said, crossing her arms. Ever since the entire situation with her father, she felt uncomfortable when she even took her clothes off in the bathroom, much less in front of Gerard.
"It's not like I haven't seen you naked before. And I'd never do anything like your father did to you," he said, resting his hands on her shoulders, kissing her quickly. "You're going to have to trust me, okay?" he said.
Courtney nodded. "But... don't freak out too much. And please, for the love of God, don't go after him. He is downstairs, after all."
"Fine," he said.
Courtney stripped herself of her clothes, feeling uncomfortable all the while.
Gerard was livid, his face contorting with anger. "Who does this to a teenager?" he asked to no one in particular. "That man is a bastard, Courtney. Someone has to do something to keep him away from you," he told her, running his hands along the bruises on her body.
"Gerard, I've been trying to tell you that! You just never bothered listening until you see bruises."

With the entirety of her family out, Gerard still waiting on the phone, and her father on top of her, Courtney screamed. Gerard's stomach clenched, and he winced every time she screamed. He wanted nothing more than to call the police at that moment.
"Dad!" Courtney shouted. "Stop! Please!" she squirmed, attempting to avoid her father as he had another hard thrust inside her. She screamed again, trying to push her dad off of her.
Gerard had heard too much. He grabbed one of the stray house-line phones, making sure not to hang up on Courtney, dialing 911.
"Hello, 911, what's your emergency?" the female operator on the other end said.
He mentioned everything, except the fact that the one being raped was not only his student, but his girlfriend.
On the other end, Courtney's father collapsed, laying down next to her. "Get the fuck out of my bed, out of my room, and out of my house."
"Is that any way to treat the man who –"
The door burst open, policemen standing at the door. "Get away from the girl."
Courtney moved away from the bed, taking the sheets with her. She stood, watching them take her father away, one single smile adorning her face. She bit her bottom lip as they asked her questions, especially how Gerard knew about the entire situation. "I told him, not knowing that he would do anything," she told them.

Courtney knocked on Gerard's door the next day, tapping her foot on the ground, trying to calm herself down.
Gerard opened the door, smiling at her, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Courtney shouted, hugging him. "I honestly don't know any way I could forgive you!"
"Hello to you, too," he muttered, wrapping his arms around her. "Seriously, Courtney, you don't have to do anything."
"I'm sorry you had to hear everything," she muttered, letting go of him. "I really am."
"It's what had to be done. The only thing I regret is not being there to knock him out before he got taken away," Gerard grumbled, pulling her inside. "I love you, you know that, right?" he asked.
She nodded, "Of course I do, Gee," she said, smiling.
Gerard pressed her against the door, "And, God, I've never wanted you more," he said, kissing her. "Not sure why, though. Shouldn't the given situation be a complete turn-off?"
"Gerard, I... I don't think I'm ready to do something like that aga –"
"Just once, Courtney. I promise, if you're still uncomfortable afterward, I'll never push you to do it again," he said, kissing her again. "Sound like a plan?" he asked.
She nodded, "I'm only agreeing to this because I miss it being you inside of me," she muttered, wrapping her arms around Gerard's neck, pressing her lips hard against his.
Gerard pulled her with him to his bedroom, laying her down on the bed and pulling his shirt over his head. "Tell me if this is too much, okay?"
Courtney nodded as Gerard lay on top of her, pulling her shirt up as well. "I miss being close to you," he muttered breathlessly, kissing Courtney passionately and moving his hands to her neck.
Courtney smiled against Gerard's lips. "I love being this close to you," she muttered in reply, slowly feeling herself grow comfortable with the idea of making love to Gerard again – it was someone she trusted and loved with all her heart, she couldn't possibly deny him.
Gerard undid his jeans, pulling them down his legs. "You sure you're ready for this again?" he asked, concern and worry in his eyes.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
Gerard nodded, pulling Courtney's shorts down her legs, dragging her underwear with them. "I don't want you to feel like you're obligated to do this just because we're together," he whispered, kissing her again. "This means more to me than getting off. This is a show of just how much we love and adore each other, but if the thought is too scarring for you, don't do it, I don't want you to feel like I'm forcing you into anything."
Courtney grabbed Gerard by both sides of his head, "Gerard, listen to me, and listen carefully: you mean the world to me – more than that – so this isn't scarring for me. I love you, and I want to do this with you. Don't even doubt that," she pulled his boxers down, then her bra. "You have nothing to fear. I miss being this close to you, and it was never about getting off, and all I feel right now is pure, unadulterated love. This is right."
"Well, if that's really how you feel, then fine. But if this becomes too much, tell me and I'll stop immediately," he muttered, grabbing a condom from the drawer of his nightstand and pulled it on, slowly going into Courtney.
She let out a breath of relief, her head falling back on its own accord. "I miss it being you," she muttered. "Now I won't have to say my father was the last one inside of me. It'll always be you, and you only."
Gerard couldn't help but let a smile break out onto his lips, "From now on, it's you only. It's just you. You mean too much to me – I'll never let you leave me," he muttered, slowly going in and out of Courtney, a soft rhythm building up as he kissed her once more. "You're too perfect," he remarked.
Courtney could already feel herself reaching her peak. "Gee, I... I'm gonna... Gerard, I don't want it to end," she moaned, her nails scraping his back. "I don't want it to be over. I just want to stay here with you and be close to you."
Gerard's movements came to a complete halt. Courtney could still feel him inside her, amplified. It only drove her closer. "Gerard, you're not helping me," she whimpered.
Gerard rolled them over so she was on top him. "Ride me, baby," he whispered, his hands gripping her hips. "I don't want it to be over, either."
Courtney smiled, her lips connecting with Gerard's for only seconds. "I love you, Gee. Thank you," she muttered, rocking her hips with the help of Gerard.
The two were instantly in bliss; Courtney could feel her peak slowing, Gerard could feel the love that practically radiated off of Courtney. He would groan whenever their hips had contact with the others'. What he felt was strong, and it was slowly driving him mad.
"Fuck, Gee, I love you," Courtney said, kissing Gerard. "You're the best."
Gerard grinned like a fool against his girlfriend's lips. He couldn't respond, the overwhelming sensation of love pulsing through his veins.
"Gee, I can feel it coming," that took Gerard out of his thoughts. The feeling in his stomach entailed that he was just as close as Courtney was when she clenched around him.
"I... I kn-know, m-me t-to-oo," he sputtered, his head falling back.
The two came simultaneously, going down with each other. Courtney collapsed atop Gerard, her hands caressing his cheek. "That was the best I've ever had," Gerard muttered.
"You're amazing," Courtney whispered, kissing Gerard again.
