Being on stage again with Pete and the boys is amazing. I missed it terribly. My solo stuff was fun, but texting Pete, and hanging out with him on occasion was no comparison to being with him 24/7. And now we’ll be going on tour again. A cramped tour bus, fast food, and video games, playing shows and then returning to the bus exhausted. It may not sound that great, but it is. I missed this. We all did. But we really did need a bit of a break.

Pete grins over at me, making me flush slightly and smile back shyly. He walks over and hugs me tight, something he’s done quite often since we discussed getting FOB going again. Not that I mind. His hugs are warm and comforting. I hug him back and rest my head on his shoulder.

“Are you two going to spend the whole time cuddling?” Andy laughs softly.

“Maybe.” Pete grins, “I missed my best friend.”

Joe rolls his eyes, “I bet you two talked to each other every day.”

You two joined another band together.” Pete smirks, “So of course you don’t miss each other. And talking isn’t the same, huh ‘Trick?”

I blush lightly and shake my head, “N-No it isn’t.”

Andy and Joe look at each other and roll their eyes playfully before smiling over at us.

Pete lets go and smiles at me, “I really did miss you.”

“I missed you too.” I smile shyly, “Even if we did go to taco bell in the middle of the night several times.”

He chuckles and smiles at me.

Pete and I share a room, as usual, and sit on one of the beds talking for hours, like we normally do. I definitely missed this. Pete and I could talk for days and never get tired of it, which comes in handy on a cramped tour bus. We talk about everything from our solo projects, to our excitement about FOB, to taco bell.

“I see you’ve brought the hat addiction back.” Pete chuckles softly.

I shrug a shoulder, “It never left. But Fall Out Boy would be weird without a hat.”

Pete nods, “You look just fine without one though, no need to hide underneath it.”

I blush lightly, “Who’s hiding?”

He smiles, “We all hide.”

I shrug a shoulder and nod, “I guess that’s true...you hide that nice sensitivity with your asshole persona...”

He scrunches his nose, “That nice sensitivity is a secret, so shh.”

“But why?” I tilt my head curiously, “The real you is so much more appealing than the cocky you.”

“Patrick the real me is a vulnerable whimp.”

I frown, “Pete I’m a much more vulnerable whimp than you could ever be...and that didn’t stop you from being my friend.”

“Of course not, because the real you is brilliant and sweet.” he smiles.

I roll my eyes playfully, “Pete?”

“Hmm?” he lies back on the bed.

“We did talk almost every day.. is it weird that we missed each other anyways?” I lie back beside him, looking up at the aged ceiling.

“I supposed it could be weird, but isn’t that better than normal?” he flashes me a smile before turning serious, “We missed each other because at one point we were joined at the hip, and then we hardly saw each other for three years.” his smile returns, “But how could you not miss this?” he runs his hands down his chest, causing us both to explode into laughter.

Once we’ve recovered he grins over at me, “How was touring with Panic?”

“Without you?” I look over to him, “Admittedly, pretty fun. Except you weren’t there. Although Brendon and I talked about you pretty much the whole time.”

He chuckles, “Brendon texted me a few times telling me you seemed so lonely without me... were you?”

I blush lightly and nod, “Y-Yeah..”

He smiles softly, “I was lonely without you too, ‘Trick. And I know I’ve said it before, but here it is again: You look really good. You’ve been adorable your whole life, but I’m glad you got yourself healthy.” he hugs me, “Because you feel better about yourself and it shows. You’re a little more confident now, but you didn’t let it get to your head. You’re still the sweet boy you were when this band started.”

I blush and look away shyly, “Th-Thanks...”

He chuckles, “And still so shy.”

“I think I’ll always be shy.” I shrug.

“There’s nothing wrong with that.” Pete smiles at me, adjusting the pillow, “Shyness is endearing.”

I blush and roll my eyes, “Shyness is annoying.”

“Nuh uh.” he pouts.

“Uh uh.” I poke his lip sticking out.

He bites my finger, grinning widely.

“Ouch! Let go!” I wince as he shakes his head, still taking my finger captive, “Pete!” I thump his cheek, causing him to let go and pout as I pull my hand away quickly.

“Meanie.” he pouts.

“You bit me. And I’m the mean one here?” I run my finger over the teeth marks.

“You thumped me.” he bats his eyelashes and gives me puppy dog eyes in an attempt to be cute.

An attempt, that just as always, works in his favor.

I roll my eyes, “I’m sorry I thumped you while you attempted to amputate my finger with your teeth.”

He grins, “I guess it’s okay, this time.”

I yawn softly and close my eyes, allowing myself to forget there’s another bed in the room, not that Pete minds. We generally end up sharing a bed, or bunk. Pete begins snoring long before I can fall asleep, but I don’t mind listening to him. It’s not loud obnoxious snoring, it’s soft and quiet. The only thing quiet about Pete, I believe. I smile and lean into him, closing my eyes. Nothing strange about two best friends cuddling, even if one of them does have feelings for the other...right?
