~His name is...~
I'm not sure how or when this started, but I know how it will end. My life will be taken by his hand. I know that my feelings lead to nothing but problems, but I can't control them. He is the man I love, the man that loves me, but this is a deadly love. I am Hanabi Hyuga and this is my story.
The first time I saw him I was only five, I saw him practicing and couldn't stop watching. I heard a story a few days later about a clan that had been killed; he never showed up after that day, not until I saw him crying. Of course he doesn't know this, he never saw me, or at least never said he did.
My training started when I turned six and I wasn't allowed out of the house by myself. I never got to see him again after that, I didn't get the chance to make friends. The image of his hard work when he trained never left my mind. I never want to see him cry again, I want to protect him. That thought has always been in my mind, always pushing me to train harder and get stronger. All my hard work is to keep him from crying, to keep him from hurting...
From the time I was five till I was fifteen I only knew his face, I never knew his name. He wasn't in school, and he never hung around my cousin so I didn't get the chance to truly meet him until he showed up at our party. Naruto introduced him, though I was the only one that didn't know the famous Sasuke Uchiha. The only survivor of the Uchiha Clan massacre ten years ago.
The only things about him that were the same as back then were his deep onyx eyes, and pointy raven hair. His pale skin was scared and marked, more tattoos than I could count, not that I would mind trying. Piercings adorned his soft pink lips, 'I wonder if that affects his kissing', as well as his ears; no matter how you looked at him he was hot. He apparently didn't know it was meant to be a costume party, or just didn't care, since he was wearing a pair of blue swim trunks and a partially zipped jacket that gave a glimpse of the tattoo on his chest and stomach. Those eyes, so dark they could stop you with just a glance seemed to scan over everyone lazily as Naruto and Sakura chattered away right in front of him.
Sakura had a crush on him, at least I think she did; I could tell by the way Naruto was acting. Naruto seemed the closest to him and the most excited, Nii-san didn't seem happy at all. While everyone watched him I watched them, Kiba seemed to instantly become more protective, his arm snaking around Hinata's waist, similar to how TenTen grabbed Neji-nii's arm and Kankuro stepped in between Temari and Sasuke even though they were no where near each other. I couldn't help but laugh to myself at their behavior, why were they acting like he was such a bad guy, he seemed cool to me.
I think I may have pushed it a little more than I had intended when Sakura got a phone call and I walked over to him, "Hello, are you enjoying the party?" I tried to make my voice cheerful, though I'm not sure that's how it came out. He just stared at me for a minute before glancing at Hinata and pointing, "I'm Hanabi, her sister." Assuming that he was asking who I was and why I looked like her that was all I could think to say, he seemed to know everyone there after all.
Nodding simply, his blueish-black hair moving ever so slightly, "I'm Sasuke, in case you missed the dobe screaming it earlier. He said, looking back down at me, his dark eyes met mine and I could feel my cheeks heat up, "The party's okay I guess." He said, smirking slightly and causing me to glance down, "You're a lot like your sister, she use to blush every time Naruto got close to her. She liked him though, are you falling for me Hanabi-chan?" He asked, brushing his hand through a strand of my hair and causing my head to shoot up.
"N-no!" I yelped, quickly clamping a hand over my mouth and causing him to laugh. I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks as my blush darkened. Forcing myself to look at him I could see my face reflected in his eyes.
"Calm down, I'm just picking on you kitten." His words made me freeze, staring at him in disbelief; this couldn't be the same little boy I saw back then, there's no way. I was wrong, his eyes were different, darker... almost evil. Something had changed him, his hopes and dreams.... they were gone.
