The New Student

Konoha High School. One of the most prestigious schools in all of Japan. Producing prodigies in all areas of economics, society and sports since it’s founding. Most of the students that attend this school are from rich and noble families that have connections in the world and while a small percentage of the students got in because of their unique talents and expertise on certain subjects. And unknown to the outside world, a school for monster hunters where only the best of the best attend.

One of these unique student was walking through the school right now, on his way to the office for his timetable. He was a teen of average height with an athletic build that was hidden beneath his school uniform that consisted for a button up long sleeved white shirt the had the top button undone and his blue striped tie loosely done up around his neck. He wore a blue jersey over top and had his sleeves slightly rolled up giving him a delinquent look. He wore grey pants with brown dress shoes.

He had blond hair that was spiky and wild and his sky-blue eyes that were hidden behind a pair of black-framed glasses, but his most surprising feature was whisker like markings on his cheeks.

He walked slowly down the hallway that was clear of the students as class had already started and he had arrived late because he had slept in. He made it to the office and walked in to see a young dark haired woman typing away quicker than he could follow.

“Ano, excuse me…” the blond spoke up and got the woman’s attention.

“Oh, hello there. You must be the new student starting here.” Shizune stated as the teen nodded. “My name’s Shizune, I’m the receptionist here and assistant to Headmaster Sarutobi.”

“My name’s Naruto Uzumaki, I’m just here to pick up my schedule for class.” Naruto said as Shizune nodded and printed off a copy for him,

“Hmm, it seems you have English language first with Kakashi. He’s just down the hall to the left.”

“Thank you.” Naruto bowed slightly as he left for his first class.

Naruto walked down the corridor of the main school building and wondered what his life at school would be like. Would he make new friends? Would he meet his old ones that came her a couple of years ago? What will the teachers be like? He was lost in thought for a while before he notice that he was standing right in front of his class, 1A.

He knocked on the door politely for a second before it opened up and Naruto saw his teacher. He had silver hair that was stretched up in large spikes that all inclined to the left side of his head. His mouth and part of his nose was covered by what looked like a surgical mask and he had a lazy look in his eyes.

“Yes.” Kakashi said as Naruto handed over a piece of paper as Kakashi read it. After a moment Kakashi looked back at him and nodded his head and let him in gaining the attention of the whole class as the girls blushed as he looked hot and the boys thought he was a pretty boy with his looks.

“Students this is our school’s new student and your classmate. Please treat him with respect.” Kakashi said as Naruto bowed and introduced himself.

“My name is Naruto Uzumaki, it’s nice to meet you all.” Kakashi nodded his head in the short but simple introduction and pointed him towards a desk at the back of the room.

As Naruto sat next to his new classmate he noticed that it was a girl with very long black hair, almost reaching down to the ground, tied by a violet ribbon right near the end, and black eyes. She wore the same uniform as him but wore a grey skirt with black stockings and brown shoes and she had a pair of headphone around her neck.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Naruto.”

“Kin Tsuchi, pleasure.” the girl said as she held out her hand as Naruto shook it. She blushed slightly as she felt his surprisingly smooth skin on her’s and shook it off before anyone could notice. She didn’t know why she did that, she was a well known lesbian at the school and all of the boys there failed to get her to even look at them if they flirted with her. She had a reputation to uphold...but still.

“Now that that’s out of the way, let start class. This term we are going to be studying William Shakespeare's MacBeth, so pair off with the people next to you and grab a book from the front of the class and start reading.” Kakashi said as some of the students whined in disappointment at not picking their own partners but went along with it as they all grabbed a book and started reading while Kakashi pulled out an orange covered book and began giggling. Naruto sighed, it was going to be a long year.

Lunch time came around pretty quick for Naruto as he spent the first part of the day with Kin being in his classes and showing him around in between them.

“So, what do you think of the school so far?” Kin asked the blond as he pushed his glasses up as he walked next to her.

“It’s okay so far, nothing exciting has happened though.” Naruto said as he shrugged his shoulders.

“They year has only just started so nothing exciting will happen, not that it ever does.” Kin whispered the last part to herself but Naruto caught it. “Anyway, have you heard the rumors about the killings going around?”

“I've heard about the killings around here lately, surprising that it’s happening here of all places.”

“I know but that’s not what i was talking about. the rumor is that someone witnessed one of the killings up close.” Kin said as she made gestures with her hands.

“Really?” Naruto questioned as he looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “What did the witness say?”

“It’s all on the down low at the moment, but the reports say that the woman man who witnessed it said that a small gang cornered him and his wife and was about to cut them when a flash of yellow appeared behind the gang and cut their heads clean off! The cops couldn’t find anything at the scene.” she explained as the blond looked at her questioningly.

“You know an awful lot about the case. Why is that?” Naruto asked as the girl looked sheepish.

“I kind of have this habit of tuning into different radio frequencies in my spare time. I came across the police’s one by accident.”

Naruto just looked at he rubbing the back of her head and let out a chuckle that caught her attention.

“What’s so funny?”

“It nothing.”

“Nothing my ass, what is it?”

“Well, it just that, you look kind of cute being caught like that. I used to do the same thing when I got caught doing something I wasn’t supposed to do.” Naruto said with a smile as Kin blushed slightly at the compliment and turned away so he couldn’t see it.

“O-Oh, r-really? I d-didn’t know you were a trouble child?” she tried to tease him back but failed as his smile got bigger.

“Oh I was, my parents couldn’t keep me down in one spot for too so I spent a lot of time running around and doing stuff to get their attention, including my favorite pass time, pranking.” Naruto said.

“A prankster huh? Kind of guessed you to be the type.” Kin said as Naruto glared at her playfully.

“And what is that supposed to mean?” he said with a pout as Kin laughed quietly.

They stopped momentarily when they saw a crowd forming around one of the basketball courts and Naruto raised an eyebrow. “What’s going on over there?” he asked.

“Uchiha” Kin sneered his name as Naruto looked surprised at her. “He’s the supposed miracle boy here at the school and all around jackass. He thinks that everyone here is beneath him and will do anything to prove a point or win a game.”

“Soooo, he’s an arrogant snob?” Naruto said as Kin nodded and started walking over towards the crowd.

“Come on, let’s go see what he’s bitching about now.” she said as Naruto nodded and followed her.

Over at the basketball court a game of one-on-one was going one between two students that was ending badly for one. One of the teens had a wild appearance with messy brown hair, sharp black eyes and red fang markings on his cheeks that currently has a smirk on his face as he bounced the ball on the ground.

The other teen had fair skin and short, spiky, auburn hair with pale blue-green eyes and black rings around his eyes and the kanji for "love" on the left side of his forehead. He was wearing a sleeveless version of the school jersey and was panting slightly as he gaze towards his opponent.

“Just give it up Gaara, there’s no way you could win against me.” the brown haired teen said as Gaara glared at him.

“Not going to happen Kiba. You and the Uchiha insulted my sister and I will get beat you.” Gaara said as Kiba sneared at him.

“Say what you want but Temari is nothing but a bitch.” Gaara growled at that. “Enough talk, let’s end this!” he said as he ran past the red head and towards the basket. This was the scene Naruto and Kin walked into.

“Great, it’s Kiba. The biggest pervert in school, I can guess what he said to make Gaara made like that.” Kin said as Naruto widened his eyes.

“That’s Gaara? He’s gotten taller.” Naruto said as Kin looked at him.

“You know Gaara?”

“And his siblings. Me and Gaara were friends since we were kids and I meet his brother and sister when we used to meet up. We haven’t seen each other since I moved to America during my second year of middle school.” Naruto said as he watched Kiba slip past Gaara and dunk the ball into the hoop.

“And that’s game!” Kiba yelled as he threw his hands in the air and the crowd laughed at Gaara who seemed to be out of breath. The ball rolled up to Naruto’s feet as he picked it up and looked at Kiba with narrowed eyes.

“Hahaha, that’s what you get when you mess with me and Sasuke. We are the rulers of this school and as such we can say whatever we want about whoever we want, right Sasuke?”

“Hn” Sasuke grunted from his spot by the hoop. Sasuke had onyx-black eyes and hair with a blue tint to it. His hair is spiky in the back, and he has chin-length bangs that parted down to frame both sides of his face and had an air of arrogance and superiority around him.

“Well then, now that that’s all cleared up.” Kiba said as he turned around so his back was facing Gaara.

“We should go Naruto, we don’t want to get in the middle of what's going to happen...Naruto?” Kin said as Naruto had disappeared from beside her.

“I think we should visit your sister and tell her what we think, huh Gaara?” Kiba said as he turned around to face Gaara but found a spinning basketball in his face before it was moved forward and touched his nose. Kiba jumped back in both shock and the slight pain from the spinning ball touching his nose and looked at Naruto who held the ball still in his hand.

“Teme, who the hell are yo-oof!” he didn’t get finished his sentence as the basketball was thrown hard at his stomach.

“I don’t remember you being this tired even after a proper basketball game when we were younger, yet alone a kids game like this.” Naruto said as he faced Gaara. The redhead widened his eyes as Naruto smiled at him. “Hisashiburi, Gaara.”

“Naruto?” Gaara asked as Naruto nodded his head and stretched out his hand to help Gaara up.

“Nice to see you again.” Naruto said. Kiba managed to get his bearings back and pointed angrily at the blond.

“What the hell? You must be that new kid everyone is talking about! Well you just made a big mistake pal.” Kiba growled out as Naruto looked at him with narrowed eyes.

“Like I care mister high and mighty. No ones messes with my friends.” Naruto said calmly as his eyes seemed to glow behind his glasses.

“Friend? You mean Gaara over there? Ha! Who would want a freak like him as a friend?” Kiba began to laugh as most of the crowd did as well. “Tell you what, if you beat me in a one-on-one game I will leave Gaara alone and forget about you interfering in other peoples business.”

“And if by some chance you win, what do you get?” Naruto asked as Kiba smirked.

“When I win you will have to bow at my feet and apologize to me in front of everyone here.” He said as Gaara and Kin looked worried for the blond.

“I accept.” Naruto said as the crowed cheered. Kiba smirked as he pick up the ball and threw it at Naruto.

“I’ll let you start so that you can have a chance to score once against me. Half court, first to 5 wins.” Kiba said as he walked towards the hoop.

“Naruto.” Gaara said gaining the teen’s attention. “It’s good to see you again, but you don’t have to do this.”

“What do you mean? You’re my friend Gaara, and I can’t stand people making fun of my friends.” Naruto said.

“Heh, you haven’t changed have you?” Gaara said with a small smirk that only Naruto could see.

“Oh no, I have changed.” Naruto said as he turned towards the dog like boy who was waiting for him. “And I’ll show you how much right now.” he said in determination as he walked towards kiba while dribbling the ball. Gaara just looked at his friend’s retreating form and wondered what he meant by that and walked towards the sidelines to watch.

“I was wondering what was taking you so long. Thinking about running away?” Kiba said in an attempt to mock the blond but failed as Naruto gave him a blank look.

“Let just get this over with, lunch ends soon and I would like to eat before that.” Naruto said as he slowly ran at Kiba. The teen smirked as he saw Naruto running at him like a slug and moved to knock the ball out of his hand.

‘To easy.’ Kiba thought as his hand neared the ball, only for it and Naruto to disappear. ‘WHAT!?’

The sound of the net under the hoop caught Kiba’s attention as he looked back to see Naruto standing there with the ball landing next to him.

“That’s one.” Naruto said pushing his glasses up slightly. Kiba growled as one of the spectators passed the ball to him and ran to the halfway line.

“Lucky shot! Enjoy it ‘cuz those don’t come around often!” Kiba shouted as he ruched at the hoop. Naruto appeared in front of him and stopped him from getting any closer and played defence.

‘He fast. That first shot was proof of that and just now, wasn’t he just under the hoop?’ Kiba thought as he moved back slightly and jumped up for a three pointer. When he retched his maximum height he threw the ball only for Naruto to catch it in midair. He was so shocked by the height the blond had jumped to block him that he didn’t react when Naruto landed and ran past him to the midline.

When Kiba got his senses back he turned around and ran towards the blond as Naruto stopped where he was and Kiba blocked him. “Let’s just see you get past me now!” Kiba proclaimed as Naruto made no reaction.

“I don’t have to.” Naruto said as he did something that surprised everyone excluding Gaara, he went into a shooting form.

‘What the! What is he doing?’ Kiba thought as he saw Naruto bend his legs and reacted quickly to block the shoot.

“No way, he can shoot from all the way over there?” Kin said in shock.

“He can’t.” Kin jumped as Gaara stood next to her.

“What do you mean he can’t?” She said after getting over the shock.

“I’ve known Naruto for years, and I know he can’t shoot a 3 pointer from anywhere. In other words…” Gaara trailed off as he saw Kiba jump in the air and Naruto started to lift his arms. “He’s faking.”

As soon as Gaara finished Naruto gripped the ball and ran past Kiba as he was still in the air. Kiba looked at Naruto from over his shoulder with wide eyes as the blond ran up to the hoop and rolled the ball off his fingers as it made it in and scored another point.

“You!” Kiba growled as he looked at Naruto. The blond smirked in return and pissed him off further. ‘How dare he mock me! I’ll show him!’

Kiba caught the ball that Naruto threw to him and rushed at the hoop again. This time Naruto appeared inside the 2 point area and spread his arms out. “Take this!” Kiba yelled as he jumped up for a dunk.

Naruto jumped up and stopped the ball as Kiba pushed against him and with all his strength. Naruto was surprised by the strength the teen possessed but kept pushing. It ended when the ball was sent high in the air and landed a few feet away from them and they both looked at each other with kiba panting slightly.

‘What is with this guy? Not only is he fast but he’s strong too. Who is he?’ Kiba thought.

‘Hmm, he’s better than I thought, but he’s still no match. How did Gaara manage to lose to him?’ Naruto thought as he walked towards the ball and bounced it.

“I hope you're not done yet. It would be disappointing to not finish this game properly.” Naruto commented with a straight face as Kiba looked at him with anger.

“Why you-”

“Kiba.” Sasuke spoke up as everyone looked at the dark haired teen. “let’s continue like he said.”

“Sasuke, you..?”

“I’m going to join you. We can’t have someone like you making a mockery of us, now can we?” Sasuke said as he glared at Kiba making the teen flinch in response.

“H-Hai.”

“Hold up.” Naruto said. “The game was one-on-one, not two-on-one. What do you think you’re doing?” he said as he glared at them.

“Hn. It’s just a game, what are you getting so serious about? If you think that’s unfair then anyone here can join you if they please.” Sasuke said as he waved his arms over the now nervous crowd. “No one? Well then-”

“I’ll help.” The three of them looked over to Gaara who was walking up to them.

“You again?” Sasuke said as Naruto had a grin on his face.

“You gonna play seriously Gaara?” Naruto asked as the redhead nodded in response. “That’s all I need. He’s with me.”

“Seriously? He just got his ass handed to him not 5 minutes ago!” Kiba yelled.

“That doesn’t matter Inuzuka. I will still help him.” Gaara said in his normal monotone voice. Naruto smirked and faced Sasuke.

“Is that all?” He asked as he grunted and walked towards Kiba to defend the hoop.

“You ready Gaara?” Naruto questioned.

“It’s just like the old days.” Gaara said as the blond nodded and walked forward. Kiba came up to block Naruto as he kept bouncing the ball. Kiba went to steal it but Naruto moved backwards and passed it behind his back towards Gaara who caught it and ran towards Sasuke who was waiting for him. Kiba ran towards the redhead as well in an attempt to block him in but stopped when the ball flew past his head and made it back towards Naruto as he ran at the hoop.

He went to to another finger roll when the Uchiha appeared in front of him and blocked as line of sight as Kiba came up from behind to stop the ball from leaving his hand. Thinking quickly Naruto held the ball in a vice grip and passed to his left to Gaara as he took the shot and made the hoop.

“Wow!”

“That’s three points already!”

The players just ignored the spectators words and continued playing as Sasuke had the ball and was blocked by Gaara. Sasuke dribbled the between his legs and moved from side to side in an effort to distract the teen and it worked as he slipped past him and made a beeline for the hoop. Before he could make it though he felt the ball being knocked out of his hands and looked down to see Gaara’s hand slapping the ball out and pass it towards Naruto as the blond ran up to them.

Seeing this Sasuke ran towards the hoop and blocked the shoot with Kiba as Naruto ran around them and jumped to take the shot. The two teen smirked as the blond didn’t shoot it and was about to got out of bounds when he chucked the ball over the backboard.

They both looked backwards as the ball slowly came down and pass through the hoop cleanly without touching the rim.

“That’s four.” Naruto said as he landed and adjusted his glasses again. Maybe he should take them off when playing? All they did was hide his looks.

“What the hell? How did he do that?” Kiba asked.

“I don’t know, but he’s still going down.” Sasuke said as Naruto had the ball and was waiting for them to get ready.

This time Sasuke went to guard Naruto as the blond attempted to move around him but found that the Uchiha move in his path every time. Naruto looked at the Uchiha as he slowly started to sway from side to side as Sasuke looked at him questioningly.

‘What is he up to?’ The emo thought as Naruto leaned towards the right side (Sasuke’s left) as the ball was in the air in the other direction. Sasuke smirked as he thought the dope messed up and went to grab it but was caught off guard when Naruto’s hand quickly snatched it and ran past him.

‘An irregular change of pace!?’ Sasuke thought as Naruto ran up to the hoop with Kiba blocking him and Gaara behind him. Naruto jumped in the air for a dunk when Kiba jumped as well.

“Not this time!” Kiba yelled as he blocked Naruto’s path. The blond just looked with a blank face as he brought one of arms down with the ball and passed it to Gaara behind the teen. The redhead jumped with his left hand high up in the air and the ball resting on his palm before suddenly flicking his wrist forward shooting the ball high up in the air creating an arc before it slowly fell towards the rim and easily going inside.

‘That was…’ Kiba thought in shock

‘A Teardrop?’ Sasuke finished what Kiba was thinking as they saw the redhead do a move they had never seen him do before and pull it off with ease.

“That’s game I believe.” Naruto said as he walked up next to Gaara.

“No way.”

“Sasuke and Kiba lost?”

“What’s with that new kid and Gaara. They played like pros out there?”

These were the sounds that made their way around the crowd as the students couldn't believe what just happened. Naruto and Gaara walked towards Kin as the girl started congratulating them on a job well done when…

“THEY CHEATED! THERE’S NO WAY MY SASUKE-KUN COULD LOSE!” a loud shrieking sound called out as Naruto’s glasses crack from the vibrations.

“What the hell was that? Is there a Banshee here at school?” Naruto asked.

“No, but you are close.” Kin groaned as she pointed behind him and he saw a pink haired girl with a crowd behind her looking at him and Gaara with angry eyes.

“And just who the hell are you?” Naruto asked automatically despite not wanting to know.

“That’s none of your business, what I want to know is how you cheated?” the banshee said as she glared at him.

“Cheated?”

“YES, CHEATED! There’s absolutely no way Sasuke-kun could lose to a dope like you!”

“Well sorry to burst your bubble but I didn’t cheat one time during that match, even when the dog boy played against me.” Naruto said as he quickly changed his glasses before any of the girls could notice.

“Don’t lie! I know you cheated somehow and I will find out how!” she said as she pointed a finger at him.

“Good luck with that.” Naruto said without a care in the world as the girl and her crowd walked away. “What a bitch.”

“She always is.” Gaara said. “Sakura Haruno, the resident banshee and whore here at school.”

“Whore?” Naruto asked, cocking his head to the side.

“Well people call her a whore but in reality she’s still a virgin. She’s been trying to get Sasuke to notice her for years but has failed every time.” Kin explained. “Since she couldn’t get Sasuke to notice her she has been hanging around the more well known boys and bleeding them for everything they’re worth, from money to power.”

“She’s a bitch, plain and simple.” Gaara summed it up.

“Okay, will file that away for later. but until then, how about-”

BEEP-BEEP-BEEP

A loud alarm sounded that cut Naruto off mid sentence. He looked towards the source to see a screen in the middle of the courtyard flashing ‘danger’ every two seconds. “What is that?”

“Trouble.” Gaara said as he started walking towards the courtyard.

“Oi, Gaara! Wait up!” Naruto shouted at his retreating friend as he and Kin caught up with him. “What’s up Gaara, what is with the alarm here?”

“Monsters.” Kin said with a serious face. “Even though we are students, it’s our job to protect this city from any monsters who show up and cause trouble.”

“Seriously!?” Naruto asked with his eyes closed in thought.

“It’s good training for us when we go out. Though only three to four people can go out at one time, mostly in their own teams.” Gaara explained as they stopped behind a large crowd around the screen.

‘This school is crazy! Why did I have to go here Kaa-chan?’ Naruto thought as his redheaded mother came into his head holding a frying pan threateningly at him.

“When the teams are sent out the fight is monitored by the staff and can be seen by the student on the screen here. It shows how strong and skilled the students are too, kind of like a competition.” Kin said as she gestured at the screen.

The screen then blink before the face of the headmaster appeared. He was an old looking light-skinned man of below-average stature with grey spiked hair, he has had a small goatee and three line running vertically under outer corners of each eye that reached his cheeks.

“Attention students! Reports of an A-Class monster has been reported in sector 7C in the city. Squads from our own safety committee have already been sent out to maintain a perimeter around the monster but are caught up in getting the people to safety that they cannot deal the monster themselves, so we have decided to sent one of you instead.” Sarutobi said as the students began whispering to each other.

“One student going up against an A-class, that’s unheard of.” Kin said in shock as Naruto and Gaara narrowed their eyes. There was something off about this.

“The student we have decided to send is one Naruto Uzumaki, and he is allowed to bring one student with him to help. He is to report to me immediately for instructions on what to do. That is all.” The screen went blank as the crowd quickly went into a frenzy about who the student was.

“You’ve got to be kidding me, I’m fighting a monster in front of everyone on my first day?” Naruto said a little taken back from being put on the spot.

“You’re so lucky~ No student has ever gone after a A-Class by themselves, even as a team.” Kin said with a pout as Naruto chuckled a little.

“He did say that i can bring someone along with me. Want to come?” Naruto asked as Kin had stars in her eyes.

“Really!”

“Hai.” Naruto answered before turning to Gaara. “I hope you don’t mind Gaara. I know we haven’t fought together in a long time.”

“It’s fine, I’m in a team with Kankuro and Temari anyways. I’m sure they will be surprised to hear that you’re attending this school though.” Gaara said as Naruto nodded and turned to walk away.

“Well, wish me luck on my first mission. Let’s go Kin.” Naruto said as the two of them began to walk away.

“Things will be interesting with Naruto around now.” Gaara said as he went to find his sister and brother.
