Chapter 08: An Unexpected Discovery

===July 21, 8:03 PM, Namikaze Mansion, Jiggles Room===

"Hai, you are going to bed now Hoteri-chan." Kushina was going through the shelves of scrolls looking for a new one to study when she spotted a small bag like what they'd wear on a mission, it was jammed in the end of the bottom corner shelf and had at least a year's worth of dust on it. Smirking and shaking her head in amusement she recognized it as being Naruto's, but it was an older one. "He really needs to learn to put his things away..." She said, then stopped and sniffed it, it had a subtle odor she recognized. It was Kyuubi's chakra, but what was unusual was that Naruto had used at least 8 tails worth of chakra when he was last wearing it, he hadn't used that much power while she'd been there, then her eyes got big as saucers when she smelled dried blood, Naruto's!

She opened it and found what looked like a scroll half jammed into a corner fold, reaching inside it'd be easy to miss. She took it out and dropped the bag. It wasn't a regular scroll, but a rolled up piece of paper. Then she noticed it had a seal on it keeping it rolled up, but she'd never seen a seal like it. She activated her Kitsune vision and checked it, in case it was booby trapped... and gasped in shock. She didn't know how it was possible, but it had an almost imperceptible chakra signature. It, or something sealed in it was alive! Kushina immediately sent a telepathic alert and a moment later Naruto, Kouseki, Hinata, Tsunade, Sakura and Tayuya appeared in the room. A moment later Shinkou appeared in full Battle Armor, her Clan's katana strapped to her back.

"Is something wrong Kushina-sama?" Shinkou asked seriously, her right hand on the handle on the katana ready to draw it.

"I found this is that bag, it's yours Naruto-kun and was shoved into the bottom shelf, you haven't touched it..." Kushina said.

"Since I fought Pain two years ago." Naruto interrupted. "I stuck the bag in there, I guess I forgot about it, but I thought I took everything out." Naruto said slightly confused, then his eyes got big. "It can't be, I killed everyone that was part of the Akatsuki. Did you check it with your Kitsune vision mom?" Naruto asked, and when she nodded he gritted his teeth. "Did it have a chakra signature?" He saw her nod again, almost nervously this time, she was getting worried about what he was about to say. He could tell everyone else was too.

"It has a seal on it that keeps it rolled up, I've never seen one like it. Have you Naruto-kun?" Kushina asked.

"Hai, I've seen it once before. The Akatsuki used it, but I sealed all their scrolls in the Vault below the Hokage Compound. Give it to me, I can break this seal. Tsunade, Shinkou, stay close, the rest of you back away, I don't want any of you hurt."

"But I can..."

"No Hinata, not this time, and that's final." Naruto said in a rare, deadly serious voice.

Hinata, with the others, quickly moved back, he wasn't going to back down this time, even for Hinata. They all knew if Naruto shut Hinata down this was serious.

Naruto nodded to Shinkou, then Tsunade, who cracked her knuckles and neck, took off her green jacket and tossed it aside.

They got nervous now, Tsunade only did that for a serious spar or a major battle.

Naruto put it on the floor, flashed through a series of hand signs at blinding speed and his red chakra flared up just as his touched the seal. "RELEASE!"

There was a loud pop and the paper quickly unrolled, then began unfolding in ways that didn't seem possible. A few moments later it took on a very human shape then turned into a 5' 7" woman in a long dark coat with a high collar all the way around like the Aburame wear. She had green eyes, light blue hair that went down her back under the coat, and a paper flower in her hair on the right side. She quickly looked around, and for just an instant looked scared, but it was quickly suppressed.

"Where am I, who are you and wear is Pain-kun?" She asked seriously, then locked eyes with Naruto and gasped in shock. "Naruto Uzumaki... no, you can't be alive... you, you just can't be!" She said and started having an emotional breakdown.

"I am. You're in the Library of my home in Konoha. "I'm sorry Konan, but Pain is dead. I'm sorry..." Naruto said, and before anyone could even react he grabbed her neck with his right hand, her whole body locked up for an instant then she went limp. "Full family meeting in thirty minutes, livingroom. Hinata-chan, get one of the new chakra suppressors, hand and foot manacles, I want her secure but not locked in any cell, at least until I know the whole story. Dismissed." Naruto said then vanished in a yellow flash.

"Hold her and keep her unconscious Tsunade, Sakura, I'll be right back." Hinata said then vanished.
