Chapter Twelve
White Knight becomes Black Knight, watch out for the fun. Character Deaths! Oh, and there is plot involved (smut doesn't do half as much fun without one, people!).

Riley Finn closed his eyes and tried to keep his calm
as he counted to ten. In his holding cell the insane
man who had been Buffy's old friend was still screaming
about him being a murderer. As far as he figured, Buffy
had her crap about demons and hell and evil from that
man. Totally unreal, of course. After all, this was the
20th century and not the medieval ages!
"Magic," he snorted.
Whatever! There was a point to the man's words, he was
speaking about a phone call with an incrimination from
Hostile Seventeen. And someone obviously had placed the
fake evidence against him in his car.
Riley considered it was Harris - the man was something
else than the usual Hostile. They did not get to grow
fur and muscles and these terrible claws. He was looking
like something out of a horror movie. Not just looking,
he belonged in there.
Just the look of the thing gave Riley nightmares. He
remembered how Harris had torn apart his man. And he as
well remembered how Buffy had gone crazy as she saw the
ring. She very nearly killed him.
Aside from capturing an insane old brit and nearly
dying, the whole setup at the restaurant was a complete
waste of time and ressources. Harris may have shown up
but he wasn't captured and now the Initiative had a real
enemy. Harris. He was probably behind Hostile Seventeen
and that was how the Hostiles had managed to defeat the
soldiers who watched the Chase woman.
Most of them got away, albeit hurt. And many more were
in line to get hurt. Riley knew Buffy had killed some of
his men, finally revealing her true colours. He was
totally scared and ordered the headquarters secured.
For some inexplainable reason the Hostiles were unable
to enter any building uninveted, so the base was pretty
save even if they managed to infect some of the people
they captured.
Still, the newly infected Hostiles would tell the others
about the Initiative. Where it was, what it was and who
belonged to the organization.
That was damn near a worst case szenario.
Riley oredered all access codes changed frequently and
implemented additional security measures, then he set
all the squads out there to work in pairs.
That saved their asses as the following days got by -
and things started to slide from bad to worse. The damn
Hostiles had set up a number of traps and ambushes that
were getting increasingly successfull.
Riley could see the figures and saw that their ranks
were getting depleted. Even worse, the Hostiles began
to grow in numbers as well as in experience and there
were some of them using modern firearms. There were a
lot of raids on businesses at night and at the base of
the national guard as well. Harris influence.
Riley wondered how Buffy Summers could be that much of a
perverted skank that she was cooperating with the vile
creatures he knew as Hostiles. What could get her to go
crazy about the loss of one former lover, one she called
a mistake herself?
Something had happened and he did not really understand
the significance, Mr. Giles' stories did not give to
much information as well.
"Damn it," he muttered. Unless he could gain an insight
into what the enemy was planning there was no way the
Initative could keep up to fight the Hostiles. He had
to strike a decisive victory and he had to do so fast.
Before the situation went totally out of control.
*
Buffy yawned as she lazily looked around the Bronze. The
last days of unrestrained bloodshed and vampire fury had
taken their toll on the city. Despite her new attitude
towards violence and chaos (the more, the merrier!) she
was taken aback by the results.
Thanks to whatever quirk of fate that Riley Finn & Co
were total idiots. Just good that they didn't control
the city officials of Sunnydale.
But not even the city council of Sunnydale, used to much
and, thanks to the old mayor, pretty apt at avoiding to
notice shit when they stepped in it, could ignore the
damage the last days had caused. Dozens of dead poeple
lying around on the streets, vandalized graveyards and
all sorts of gang-related incidents. In other words it
was war out there, the vampires against the Initiative,
and that took it's toll on the civilians.
Not that Buffy cared shit about the mortals, now. And
wasn't she happy to be finally rid of all that torment.
But she had to care about their army, Xander certainly
did and walking around the Bronze she saw the reason.
The club wasn't literally dead but rather empty.
Half the bands didn't show up, the regulars were missing
and so on. People were not talking about enforcing some
curfew but it was only a matter of time and then the
numerous vampires out there would have serious troubles
with feeding.
At least most of their minions were the normal stupid
types of minion who didn't live to see their first
year - slayerfodder in other words. The name made her
grin.
Buffy remembered old times and how happy she'd been
in the Bronze. Her she had had her first dance with
Faith, here she'd been with Angel...so many memories.
And right now she enjoyed to see Cordelia dance with
some unwitting human who was obviously thinking about
scoring on the brunette. Cordy wasn't exactly so happy
that she was bait to lure him outside - where there
were hungry vampires.
She wasn't broken yet, far from it. She'd need years
of training. As did most of these vampires who were
serving her. But Buffy intended to brake Cordelia
until she was eager to play bait, to deliver her human
lovers to her mistress as food. For now Cordelia was
cooperating because she hated the Initiative goons
worse than everyone else, so she ran around and led
the vampires into all sorts of places.
Damn usefull, that. Didn't do damage to the intent
when she was screwed regularly senseless and got all
the clothes and luxuries they could grab for her, and
to invoke any sort of petty revenge Cordelia could come
up with. Whoever of the residents she had had some old
score to settle, they were about to end up as food.
Beyond some core their big clan of fiendish children
of the night was just another wild mob, who had no
real chance to take on the Initiative. They needed
a decisive victory and soon, really soon.
Good that they were about to work on that.
In some ways.
Xander had decided to try at the same time for several
different approaches against the Initiative, enough to
keep Riley Finn busy and bleeding their ranks. They
were to fight against that many loosers and to walk
into this many traps around, spend their nights to
try to control the cemetries and clean out the sewers.
It was bloody madness and it was war and she loved it,
or she could love it once she finally got an army to
really do war with. It was all distraction while the
real teams were working with him and Cordy to clean out
whole streets in one night only and then dump all the
bodies somewhere else. Among them some who got turned
to make the Initiative was forced to waste time and
ressources on them all.
While in reality these assaults were everything but
the real deal - that one was made during the last day
and it was about one of their senior members.
Faith and Buffy had had a prophecy dream lately, and
from that they guessed that Spike was going to betray
them. After all he wanted them to suffer for they were
accomplices to how or even the reason his Dru had died.
Poor blondie was in line for a major bad surprise, as
were so many others.
Xander had no qualms to relinquish control of Sunnydale
to whoever else wanted it, he fully intended to move
his base into richer stomping ground - namely LA. Anya
was already there and started to prepare for their
arrival with the help of a newly turned ex-watcher.
Dumbass of the day, named Wesly Wyndham-Prayce, had
come back into town to look what was going on for the
Council and been fooled by Buffy, right here in the
Bronze. Her first real badass deed. She'd clubbed him
and gotten him down tho the lair so Faith had ghouled
him. Wesley wasn't so bad as long as he got his daily
supply of Faith-blood and was about to do research for
them. Helped that he got majorly off on screwing Anya.
Well, from the old idiot fool he'd grown quite a bit
as soon as they had explained his situation and options
to him. He was willing to go along, better than to die.
Always one to be scared into submission, Wesley. And
what hadn't he been drooling when meeting Cordelia again
and was offered a real chance to shoot it up her kilt
this time. Their breakup wasn't to pretty for him, it
seemed. Cordy certainly wasn't so hot on renewing her
affair with him - didn't help it when her newfound
nymphomania overrode every shred of reason. She was
quite the little slut, now.
Buffy licked her lips and told Cordelia to finish her
dance, tell the damn fool to wait in the alley and then
get her something else to eat - Buffy fully intended to
let Cordelia watch the act of feeding.
She changed her plans the moment Riley came into the
Bronze and she immidiately figured the Bronze was
surrounded already. Soldier boy at his most forseeable
behavior again, didn't mean it was easily bested. She
sent Cordelia away to get the hell outa here and then
contacted another minion of hers, dancing with some
more in the background, by using telepathy. Quite the
feat to be able to do that! One of the many advantages
of adding a demon to her Slayer spirit. The minion
slipped out to the back to alert her minions in the
alley and Cordy would soon get to a phone and then she
could tell Xander it was all go for the final act.
Buffy allowed herself the luxury of an icy cold smile.
Time to give Riley some lection towards who was boss.
She hid a cold grin as she suddenly knew, no longer was
just guessing. She knew now that Spike had sold them out
and Riley was thinking about the big battle Xander was
supposed to plan outside of the UC for the next night.
Would be a real killer when all those gathered demons
and denizens of the night went up to find themselves
facing the assembled army of the Initiative - with just
half of their clan in the midst of it. And Spike was
the chosen leader for the big battle.
Would be a slaughter and a major defeat, but then the
rest of their troops would roll in on a different way
than Spike knew about...and they'd finish to mop up
the weakened adversaries for good.
Sort of a pincer attack, and the best was - everyone
was going to blame Spike for the betrayal and the huge
losses their forces were about to suffer.
But even that was just another diversion. For the real
key to their victory was an unwitting ghoul Faith had
created yesterday, Graham. She'd take over his body
and open up the holding cells in the Initiative HQ and
then their main base would be under attack from within.
She'd open up the entrance for a reserve squad of some
elites Xander managed to gather for the mission, nearly
half of their reserves. The rest would be busy to raise
mayhem in the town, load their possessions up and move
their lair over to LA.
Buffy agreed with the plan.
The only point that disturbed her now was that she was
not allowed to kill Riley Finn - she knew Riley would
have asked Spike about HER at first. Probably Spike had
already spilled the secret, so Riley wouldn't be so
shellshocked. That really annoyed her. She wanted to
see his disgust and she wanted him to suffer all the
self-hatred when he learnt she had rather chosen to be
a vampire than to be with him.
Oh well, she then simply figured, you simply can't have
everything, Summers. Not that this stopped anyone from
trying.
The very real possibilty that Riley got to capture her
and brought her in, that she would get one of these
thrice-cursed bloody damned neutering chips, wasn't
doing wonders for her good mood either. Still, she now
knew how to break that curse now! Would hurt like hell
but she was already enjoying the pain.
And then, someone should be there in the Initiative
base and kick all the monsters in line...shouldn't
someone be there? Like, well, her?
Buffy pretended to be pleasantly surprised as Riley
spied her and then she neared him again. "Hello Riley,"
she purred. She could see her new dark makeup and the
tight fitting leather dress made him hot. Well, it was
a major plus for her if she no longer had to breathe.
And she liked to show off her inner slut. "Long time
no see. You kill any OTHER friends of mine lately?
Like, what, whoever is left!"
Despite his preparation Riley still was hurt by that
furious verbal attack but quickly he regained his
balance. Calmly he stated he had killed none of her
friends, a blatant lie. He'd bagged Angel or hadn't he?
And she was SO taken by Xander's pairing to her.
Killing all her friends and making her hate the man whom
she thought she'd loved, make her most trusted ally go
crazy - a man who was just about her father! Oh, it was
all so neat and impressive. Why couldn't that stupid
peasant asshole see the elegance of the ritual honoring
Cander had given her with this?
Her always beloved Black Knight!
Buffy discovered two, three agents in disguse who were
awfully coincidentally moving into a circular attack
position, all awfully hard and so obviously trying not
to be suspicious. There were probably one or two others
she missed, maybe even more. The Iniative was not in the
mood to fuck up again. Bad. Okay, her kids in the alley
should get to kick some ass before they died. And, good,
Cordelia was already slipping away full of fear and her
burning hate was so sweet.
Buffy blinked and sneered at Riley's assurance. "You
know, Riley, you really should have stayed on your farm
in Iowa and continued to fuck your cows in the back end.
Bet you liked to feel how you slammed your sorry dick
into their shit, didn't you?" she smiled. "I don't care
that much for my friends and if you want to gut that
crazy old man, well, do so."
"Buffy!" Riley gulped, eyes nearly popping out. "You
always..."
"Liked him? Mhm, well, I liked to give him head. He did
know how to bring a woman pleasure, you know? Not that
he was that good, I mean he's the same sort of gay shit
you are. Assfucking little pervert, but he had at least
some style to him!" Buffy grinned, fondly remembering
her making out with Anya. After whipping her bloody and
dricing some nails into her back and rubbing her off
for about two hours or three, the now-again-demon girl
had become a close friend. She even discovered what a
great humor she had hidden in all these stories of hers
from her time as a vengeance demon. "Xander was really
good. The likes you will not achive in a thousand years
but that's no shame."
"Buffy, please," Riley pleaded. He looked like someone
had been put some barbed wire through his digestive
track and now started to pull on one and then the other
end and continue it until he was only a bloody mess.
Maybe she'd do something like this to him, someone. A
good idea shouldn't come to waste. "You're no whore."
"No, but you are!" Buffy replied icyly. "I just do
enjoy my sex. Well, Angel was good as well...but after
him Xander was the best. Made me scream all the nights
and I had to run to him and get it by him after being
with you, sometimes. Just needed a REAL men to do me."
She laughed and shrugged. "I mean, he was a smart guy.
Took him a day to figure out the crap with me and this
protection thing. Got to bang me half a year before I
ever touched Angel - you know that poor vampire thought
I was still a virgin? Boy, what a naive man. But, better
a naive one than a dense slimebag like you."
"And why did you come to me, then?"
"Oh, I thought he was dead and I really WANTED to feel
dirty and suffer. Thanks for the assist," Buffy nodded
curtly to him, bowing. "Hope you got it finally off on
your own when you smashed my mom's head. I mean, you
wouldn't shame her any further with admitting you didn't
even get it up on coward murdering?"
He reddened and nearly lost it there, his knuckles were
white from the repression. His nails dug into his own
flesh deeply so hard did he clench his fits. Nice to
see how far she could get at beefstick. "Harris was the
one who did all this," he hissed. "Don't you SEE? Buffy,
he manipulated me!"
And it was the sweetest thing he ever did for me, Buffy
thought as she stared at him disbelieving. She only
wished she could have seen her dumbass of a mother get
killed by Anya. Hearing her tell the story while Buffy
got fucked in the ass by the last minion she'd turned
before was a major turnon. Maybe she'd even use some
spell to resurrect Joyce, later. So she could kill her
herself again. All those years wasted with playing nice
when she could have come on to Faith so long ago! But
mom always was disgusted at any female-to-female sex.
Worst mistake of them all.
That and that she hadn't started screwing Xander the
day she led eyes on him, geek or not. Well, she wasn't
born omniscient. Or that wise, for the record.
Buffy laughed. "Nice try, beefstick. Really nice try."
"Buffy," Riley croaked, pale. Shivering. "I don't lie!
Xander has done it all...he wanted to get you to...do
whatever with him..."
"Why not speak it out aloud?" Buffy said. "He did me
again, after he made you guys failed to kidnap me!"
The blonde shook her head with disdain and pride. "He
offered to give me eternity."
"You must have seen how he killed that man who came
after him."
"Oh Riley, you're so dense," Buffy gloated. "I killed
these man. Like I will kill you for what you dared to
do with my Angel."
"You loathe them, you hate them even more than me!"
Riley shook his head. "You would never do that, to you
it would mean to losse your soul."
"Poor fool, you should have listened," Buffy moaned
as she apporached him and showed her gameface. She
revelled at his cold shock, he was frozen. "I just had
to choose eternal night. Comeon, you're the lousiest
lay this planet has ever seen and you killed my friends,
tried to blame it on the man who always loved me?"
She laughed bitterly. "YOU were the one who made me, ah,
overcome my inhibitions...I should be gratefull. I will
rip out your guts right now, Riley."
"Buffy...," soldier boy screamed in utter torment. His
eyes were about to pop out of his head and she had him
in her hands, prepared to drive her clwas into his belly
and follow through with her threat.
Damn him, these Initiative agents were so SLOW! What
was it, he'd taken the third class reserves with him?
If so, the others must have been out cold already.
Buffy felt a great weight taken from her shoulders as
they stunned her and made her go down, cursing Riley for
not playing fair. She would get to kill him slowly!
in the back of the room her minions changed and began to
fight, soon there was the nicest massacre going. A few
dead bodies and dustclouds later the Initaitve had lost
another three agents - and had one wounded on her hands.
Riley Finn was shackling her and was weeping, actually
weeping. Promising her they'd find a cure.
So much like him to come apart over this.
Buffy began to think of ways to make him die in the
most agonizing way.
