Chapter 2: Working the Metal

Chouji followed roughly two dozen of his fellow Chunin as they filled into a large room within the Torture and Interrogation Department. The room although spacious had the lighting turned down giving it a foreboding feeling, which remembering the man that had been the proctor for the first exam during his original time taking the Chunin Exams, he wasn’t too surprised by the mild theatrics. Chouji was in a sense surprised to find himself there, since when he had imagined his career path as a shinobi, he had never pictured himself applying to join the T and I division. But, in the wake of Sasuke’s attack on the Leaf’s Maximum Security Prison he had succumbed to Oboro’s suggestion to join. She had convinced him that it was the best place to be in order to formulate a means of revenge as the department was where all the information on The Uchiha would be gathered. The most recent carnage of Sasuke’s and his recently revealed Village Hidden in Darkness had caused, had only reinforced to Chouji that he had made the right decision. He felt a sense of gratitude for Oboro as it appeared that she had guided him in the right direction.

He felt his dick lurch due to his thoughts turning to some of the activities that he had experienced since first meeting the sexy violet haired woman. They weren’t exactly dating. But, in the months since their first encounter, the one-night stand had turned into a couple of times a week. She had really expanded his sexual experiences, such as inviting him over for a few threesomes, with the women having been high-class escorts that she had hired. He had been hesitant at first, due to the somewhat questionable legality of the encounter, but after watching her begin to lick the woman’s pussy he had been unable to deny himself the chance to join in due to escort’s siren like moans.

Yet, despite his contentment with his sex life, it wasn’t really translating into happiness with the rest of it. He was surprised that months after Iruka’s death, he was still as angry and bitter about it now as he was then. Even if it had proved to be the catalyst that introduced him to Oboro. But, ultimately what he felt was behind it was the village’s tepid response in the wake of the attack that had claimed him. It had been so weak in fact, that Sasuke had then followed it up with an attack on a member of the Alliance itself. Chouji didn’t particularly care if Rain was attacked, since he felt it was just as complicit in Asuma’s death. But, he just couldn’t fathom what the point of gathering allies was if they would cower in fear every time they were attacked.

Expressing that view at his family’s dinner table had actually ended up with a rather contentious fight with his father. Particularly, since his father was favoring Tsunade’s actions as it was learned in the aftermath of the Amegakure attack, primarily from the captured leader of the Salamander Resistance, that the Village Hidden in Darkness that Sasuke had founded was located in the Land of Crows. A country that was a part of the Three Blade Alliance. His father had countered his argument that the Alliance gave them an advantage by pointing out the Land of Honey and Land of Iron both had skilled Samurai armies, unlike the typical peacekeeping Samurai forces located in countries with Shinobi Villages. Not to mention the Samurai forces that had been commanded by the Land of Crows even before Sasuke had settled there. All in all, his father had pointed out that both forces were relatively evenly matched currently in terms of people and resources. Furthermore, there were other factors at play which he hadn’t even considered. Such as Iwa, which had become more and more isolated as a threat, but now found itself in a position where it could find potential allies in a conflict with Konoha. Especially, if the Leaf Village just attacked the Darkness Village, which his father had also pointed out that his desire to wage war on Sasuke’s village had not even factored in the distances and countries that needed to be traversed before any such attack could take place.

Chouji had tried to argue that the Land of Crows had already set themselves up as enemies to the Land of Fire by allowing the traitor to start a village in their territory. But, again his father had warned him to look at the bigger picture in that just because two villages hated each other, it didn’t mean the leaders of the respective countries did, and vice versa. In fact, it was for that reason that some believed the previous three Shinobi Wars had all experienced rather premature endings, and why a group such as the Rising Sun had even sprung into existence.

Chouji frowned as he had to admit that he didn’t possess enough knowledge to really refute his father’s arguments. He was aware that currently the Leaf Village was negotiating with the Land of Crows about Sasuke’s attack on Amegakure. But, word was already filtering down that nothing would come of it. Particularly since he had hired his village out to the Salamander Resistance, who had wanted to depose of Konan. Because of that, it was being treated as just another job taken by a shinobi village, a train of thought made all the more accepted by Konan’s pardoning of most of the group’s membership that had survived and not taken part in the bombing campaign aimed at Ame’s civilians. As his father had pointed out, if Konan wasn’t willing to pursue retaliation against those that were the supposed masterminds of the attack, then it wasn’t like they could pursue the instrument used to implement their plans.

His mother had quickly chimed in that it was because of their lack of retaliation that their enemies had no problem attacking them. Once his mother had begun to enter the conversation in support of him, Chouji had noticed that his father had begun to disengage from the discussion before excusing himself from the dinner table, and in the past he knew it was because she rarely let things go once she got worked up. He had felt his mom could be a bit of a nag, but now that he was agreeing with her more often than not. He felt it was because she almost had to, due to how the turn the other cheek philosophy of Konoha was ingrained in its responses to attacks. He also felt it was exactly that type of tepid response which in the end led to Konoha so often being targeted. After all, if his father felt as passionately about his position as his mother did then he should be willing to defend it rather than eating and running as he had. The fact that his father wouldn’t, only seemed to prompt his mother to begin attacking him in other avenues that she found him lacking. A list which seemed to be growing, and Chouji imagined also might include problems in the bedroom.

*****************************
Chouji abandoned that avenue of thought before he traveled too far down it, to instead focus on the changes that he had undergone since joining the T and I department. His father as was seemingly becoming the norm had disapproved of his decision, since he believed that he’d lose the gentleness that made him special. Still, while his father’s opinion had nearly had him willing to rush down to be the first to sign up when Ibiki had announced his recruitment drive several months back. Shikamaru voicing a similar opinion had given him pause. His friend had stated that one of the things which had first motivated him in getting to know the Akimichi had been how despite being the target of bullying, he hadn’t allowed it to affect how he treated others.

However, as often seemed to be the case recently, Oboro had been the one whose advice he had listened to. She had almost made it seem like both Shikamaru and his father had been putting him down. Particularly as she had delivered her response to their concerns in the aftermath of a vigorous fuck fest between them. He basked in the memory of her coated in his jizz as he recalled her saying, “It sounds to me like they prefer you to be the beta male in their lives. Only fit to take what life gives you.”

He had grown rather annoyed by her statement, since although he knew his father and him had their fair share of disagreements lately, he doubted his father wanted him to be the world’s whipping boy. He especially wouldn’t believe Shikamaru wanted such a thing for him. She proved quite capable of reading him as despite not actually giving voice to his complaint about her statement, she defended it by adding, “Don’t forget they’re the ones advocating for caution when dealing with Sasuke. An approach that will only let him accrue more power so that when it does come time to actually deal with him, they’ll seek to negotiate rather than upset whatever balance the world strikes at the time. Nobody fears a gentle giant; they only fear one they know is going to hit back when provoked. If you’re serious about wanting to hit back, you’re going to need to be in a position where you can get the information without it being disseminate by the weaklings running this village.”

Still, while he had ultimately decided that he wanted to be in a position where he could be sure that he would be somewhat informed of all the current information on Sasuke. For a time after joining, he had come to regret the decision. Mainly, as it was extremely boring for the most part as most of the new recruits such as him had been assigned to data mining. Which was basically looking through all the information the village gathered from outside sources in the hopes of finding a lead the higher ups could follow.

The group Chouji had been assigned to look into was an organization that Ibiki had taken to calling the Shadow Cabal. Needless to say, that after weeks of looking into it and finding nothing more than whispers or rumors, Chouji was convinced that it was a figment of the Head interrogator’s imagination. Many of the chunin that had started with him quickly began to drop out to return to other career paths, making the Akimichi feel that it might have been a test of some sort. When he had confronted Ibiki with the idea, the man had replied that he felt the Shadow Cabal was very real, and may even be directly related to Sasuke’s ability to raise the funds he would have needed to attack the Leaf’s Maximum Security Prison.

In hindsight, Chouji figured it should have been apparent that Ibiki was trying to reduce the number of candidates looking for just a quick bump in pay, from those with a genuine passion for the craft. After all, if a shinobi began to lose focus or grow disinterested while reading through all the reports being collected. Then chances were that they wouldn’t be any more eagle-eyed or composed if they moved up in the department to begin doing fieldwork. Remembering the scars that marred Ibiki’s skull, Chouji knew there was a high price for failure for those that failed at the higher positions within the Torture and Interrogation department. Therefore, he could understand why the department head would be testing them in such a way, and imagined that the reports he and the potential new recruits had been reading had already been screened by more experienced investigators, but with the hopes that perhaps fresh eyes would spot something.

He figured the current assembly was going to confirm his beliefs. After the last Chunin had entered the room, Ibiki stepped from out of the shadows to state, “If you haven’t figured it out by now, the work you’ve been doing these past few weeks has all been part of a test.” Ibiki’s gaze settled on a few shinobi, and his next statement made it clear that not everyone had as he added, “If you didn’t know that, then you’re probably still in the wrong place, but show a determination that I think I can work with.” The head interrogator placed his hands in the pocket of the trench coat he wore as he explained his reasons for testing them, “After the attack on the Konoha Prison, and my subsequent posting that we would be recruiting, I suddenly had more volunteers then I knew what to do with. The problem with that is for all of you, I believe it was a decision being embarked on from a place of emotion. Many of you approached my subordinates or even myself asking when we’d begin focusing on Sasuke Uchiha. For those that asked, we told you that I believed the Shadow Cabal was tied to him. But apparently, that wasn’t enough for some. For others, the fire burning inside them for revenge has been smothered behind the daily doldrum of studying intelligence reports which killed their dreams of being the key to his downfall. For those of you that feel that fire still burning, all I can say is, get the hell out!”

A few murmurs began to spread among the gathered recruits, and Ibiki let it continue as he apparently waited for someone to take him up on his request. When nobody did, he continued, “I know some of you here are lying to yourselves, and now you’re lying to me as well. But, I believe persistence deserves to be rewarded so I won’t force you out. The job will do that, because the test never ends ladies and gentlemen. This isn’t about you or your reasons for joining. It’s about gathering intelligence to protect this village from threats. Currently, one of those threats is Sasuke Uchiha and now that he has a village, we must accept that he is a political force and thus unless he does something stupid like declare war on us, then he may never face the justice some of you are no doubt desiring. Namely his head on a plate.”

“What kind of bullshit is that?” one of the Chunin’s shouted. “He just attacked the Alliance?”

“Yes,” Ibiki replied coldly since the Chunin obviously had missed the point of his lead in, “By stating that the Salamander Resistance was his clients, he had a legitimate reason for being there. He hired his village out to a group of insurgents that claimed Konan had no legitimate claim to either being the Daimyo or Village Leader to Ame. Considering how she came to power, there were plenty of people that wouldn’t have mind seeing her brought down. Sasuke being aware of this, simply tied his goals to theirs, but having accepted a contract his Village had a recognized reason for his attack. Hell, as the contract only called for her death, and not some long-lasting change like the Salamander Resistance taking power. His ploy to double cross them by blowing Ame off the map could just be written off as his willingness to see the contract through no matter the cost. This is the reality of being paid mercenaries, you can’t bitch about how the game is played just because someone played it better than you.”

Chouji felt some of the fire that had carried him through the past few weeks spark to life as he asked, “Then why can’t we retaliate for his attack on the Leaf Maximum Security Prison?”

He didn’t receive the same glare as the pervious Chunin did, but suspected it was because he had tried to keep his voice under control. But, also because it was an understandable follow up. “Simple, because the realities of the world will not allow it. Getting to the Land of Crows would only be possible if Iwa was neutralized as a threat. Not to mention, Kumo has been acting as if they are going to withdraw from the Alliance, especially after that stunt the Raikage pulled during the attack. I imagine the only thing keeping them in at the moment, is how much time has been invested in preparing for the upcoming Chunin Exams and the knowledge that they’ve pissed off both Konoha and Ame. Not to mention their only remaining jinchuriki has gone missing. But, who can say what will be the state of the Alliance afterwards, or if we’ll even have them as expected, as word coming down the line is that Lady Tsunade and Lady Konan are calling for a vote which will revoke Kumo’s membership.”

Considering that much as Ibiki had stated, most of the new recruits had joined as a means of getting some form of payback against Sasuke, many of them began pressing Ibiki on various means of taking the Uchiha out. The ideas ranged from crippling Crow’s Economy forcing the country to eventually abandon the Uchiha to save itself, to outright assassination. Ibiki shot down each suggestion pointing out the various counterarguments, such as with Sasuke once again being able to physically match Naruto, any assassination attempt would have to be accomplished without him being able to raise the slightest defense as otherwise it would be doomed to failure.

Which was true enough, but as Chouji listened to the various reasons being offered up and watched his fellow Chunin’s hopes for revenge wilt due to Ibiki’s arguments against them, he came to a different conclusion. The problem wasn’t that it would be hard, but that the Village’s leaders lacked the will to do what was necessary. Sure, an assassination attempt against Sasuke might be doomed to fail unless someone like Naruto undertook it. But, to Chouji that just meant you sent multiple assassins at once, and perhaps while equipped with weapons coated in the latest poisons. That way, if he even received so much as a nick chances were the task would be completed. However, it wasn’t because the chances of success were low that such a mission wouldn’t be agreed to. It was because the leaders of the village weren’t willing to pay the political capital regardless of its success or failure.

Chouji felt that mindset was actually rather similar to the one displayed by the Third Hokage, and was why Kumo thought it could get away with abducting Hinata. Which in truth, the Raikage had been right to believe. After all, Hiashi had caught the man’s representative red-handed taking his daughter, and while the bullshit sold to the village to excuse the village’s cowardice in sacrificing Neji’s father being because it preserved the peace. The real reason was the leaders at the time, or at least the Hyuuga and the Third Hokage, as Danzou and his ilk likely would have wanted to go to war, hadn’t wanted to pay the personal political cost one would require in terms of the misery and suffering that resulted. Instead, they forced it onto Neji so the rest of the village could live blissfully in peace and they could pat themselves on the back for preserving it. At least until the next sacrifice needed to be offered up. Thinking of it in those terms, kind of made Chouji disgusted with the Third Hokage, who easily forced a child’s father to kill himself, and made him an orphan for a system that treated him as a slave, and probably considered himself noble for doing so. In fact, the more he considered it, he almost considered the Hokage to be as sinister as someone like Orochimaru. But, in some ways Chouji felt the Third was perhaps almost worse as he likely would have come around visiting Neji, much like he had many of the other children at the Academy, and filled his head with the notion the Village was a part of his family, all the while knowing he had allowed Neji’s father to throw his future away in order to avoid having to stand up to the Raikage.

Chouji considered approaching Neji with some of his thoughts on how his father’s death had been handled, but considering that Tsunade had forced the Raikage to admit his role in the abduction, which had resulted in Neji’s father being proclaimed a village hero. He doubted that he would win the older Hyuuga over to his way of thinking in regards to how to deal with Sasuke. Still, he knew that if he was going to begin to affect the change he wanted, then he was going to need allies.

Yet, he put such thoughts on hold as Ibiki cut off the people still complaining that Sasuke was beyond reach at the moment, by saying, “Now, while Sasuke may not be facing an execution squad any time soon. That doesn’t mean we aren’t going to hurt him. I know these past few weeks might have you thinking otherwise, but the Shadow Cabal is real. We’re going to force them into the light as we believe they have supplied support to the likes of Sasuke and Orochimaru. Also, we believe that Sasuke may still have allies here in the village. Our job is to ferret them out to ensure that should we have an opportunity to slip a noose around Sasuke’s neck, he won’t see it coming until it’s nice and tight.”

Several of Ibiki’s subordinates entered the room and moved to stand behind him. Indicating them, the head interrogator said, “I’ll now be breaking you into cells that one of my lieutenants will be heading up. You’re now officially recognized as members of the Torture and Interrogation Department.” The gathered chunin were about to start celebrating among themselves, but stopped due to a biting glare from Ibiki as he said, “Don’t celebrate just yet. This just means it’s the first day where we’ll begin showing you how the real work gets done. I imagine by the end of the year most of you will have moved on.” He pulled the bandana that he wore off to display the scars it hid, and added, “As for those that remain, who knows if you’ll even recognize the person that stares back at you in the mirror every morning at the end of that time. Remember, there is no shame in quitting if you can’t hack it, only in remaining and forcing others to carry your weight out of a sense of pride.”

Chouji couldn’t deny that seeing the scars Ibiki wore again was still rather intimidating. But, he also felt a deep resolve that he was going to be one of those that made the cut. After all, when Sasuke did feel a noose around his neck, he wanted the Uchiha to see him holding the end of the rope just before he pulled it taunt. If he needed to change to make that vision a reality, then he was all the more eager to begin as then perhaps the village would begin respecting him much in the same way it had Naruto because of the threats he had dealt with.

*****************************
Oboro yawned in boredom as she performed her job as president and owner of the Oboro Forbearance Company. That wasn’t to say that she wasn’t interested in the task, but she just considered it rather mundane as for the most part the company ran itself. It hadn’t exactly been easy to get to that point as some of the unsavory tasks that her company performed had required her to properly vet her executives. Not that finding people willing to skirt the law was all that hard, but finding those that wouldn’t betray her was the hard part.

Still, the vast majority of her company’s profits were generated from legal means. Primarily as there were only a select few privileged clients that she offered her company’s special services too. Mostly because more than one shadow broker as she thought of herself had been brought down by being too trusting with their clientele, only for said clients to betray them when they got in trouble. For the most part, she didn’t really need to worry about most of her clients, but was beginning to regret offering her services to Goenitz. It wasn’t because she feared the man would betray her, but mainly as she was starting to feel that he was a client that wouldn’t really payoff for her in the long run.

It wasn’t really discussed in business, but a company like hers, both the legal and illegal sides of it, often took on clients that hadn’t reached their full potential. The idea being that as they grew, their power and influence would come to benefit her company as well in the form of exclusive contracts. Some of the biggest shadow organizations made use of her legal and illegal operations, but they had long been established before she came around meaning they didn’t really need to use her, and could crush her easily if she became a nuisance. For her, Goenitz was going to be the small client that she helped along as he grew. However, due to his impatience in regards to her preparing Chouji, she was finding herself questioning if he had the potential to wrest control of the Descendants of the Moon away from the High Priestess running it. Particularly since many of the rumors surrounding the woman in charge put her at being almost a century old, if not older, and if Goenitz was going to succeed he would need patience.

The man simply didn’t understand that what she was doing was in essence forging Chouji into a knife he could wield as he wished. Instead, he was looking for a simple spy, and while she had managed to convince him that such a blunt and unwieldy tool would easily be caught by Ibiki, he failed to understand that it took time to create someone who even Ibiki wouldn’t suspect. A weapon that he thought he had forged himself.

Oboro felt a smile appear as she found the entire process thrilling. What Goenitz failed to realize was that finding Chouji was only the first part, and in line with her idea that she was a blacksmith forging a weapon. Sasuke’s attack on the Leaf Prison had only exposed the ore that she would use to create her weapon and had lit the fire of her forge. A forge which Ibiki was also using as a rival blacksmith looking to hammer the same piece of ore into a useful tool. What made the whole thing challenging was that each of them were taking turns trying to hammer it into the shape they wanted, while also trying to adjust the heat of the metal they were forming. Ibiki over the past several weeks had been trying to cool the fire as he tried to shape Chouji and his fellow Chunin into useful agents. Yet, she was trying to keep the fire hotter as she found it easier to work the metal then. It was a delicate balance as a fire that raged too hot would burn the metal, making it too brittle to be useful. While one that was too cool wouldn’t let the blacksmith forge it into the shape they desired. The task was made all the more complicated by the fact that every time she felt Chouji was taking the shape that she desired, she’d let him go only to find a few days later that Ibiki had undone much of the work that she had performed.

But, it was that challenge that made it all the more fun for her. Goenitz was simply proving to be a customer that wouldn’t recognize the difference between a finely-honed weapon or a cheap knockoff. That made him a potential liability, especially as she feared that in failing in his ambition, it would in turn lead a powerful enemy to her doorstep. However, if she just betrayed him in some manner it would definitely reflect poorly on her in the eyes of her other shadow clients, and so she began plotting how best to rid herself of the potential liability. She smiled as she began to consider that perhaps what Chouji needed was a master that would best know how to utilize him, and what better hand then the one that crafted him.

*****************************

Chouji had found the past several weeks upon being fully inducted into the Torture and Interrogation Department rather dull. Mostly due to his job still consisting of shifting through reports received from Field Operatives, but it did give him some hope that perhaps he could eventually transfer into such a role. Yet, he supposed that he’d first need to prove himself as being observant enough to be trusted out in the field. Reading through one such report, he placed his mark next to a note that one of the other members of his cell had found to be of particular interest about a series of gruesome murders that had afflicted a small town in Bean Jam Country. This signified that he also found it rather interesting, and reading further he was surprised to find the other members of his cell which had marked the murders as important, hadn’t given such consideration to the last supposed attack that had left a man dead. He supposed the reason might have been that it was an account given by the man’s young daughter, in which she described what took place in terms that most investigators likely assumed was a flight of fantasy to help her process what had happened. In her tale, she had described having been awoken by a loud crashing noise and upon going to investigate had found something that didn’t appear to be entirely human despite having a humanoid form as she described it as being a man with golden eyes and hands that ended in claws. The creature which she had stated had been wearing her father’s clothes, had apparently been in the process of fighting what the young girl had described as silver eyed elves in armor using massive swords. Apparently, the elves had prevailed and taken the body of the creature upon noticing her presence.

While Chouji felt it was easy to write off the girl’s description of events as the man that sent the report in had broken into the magistrate’s office to read his thoughts on the matter. He had reported that the magistrate believed the murders had been the work of shinobi, with the gruesome nature of internal organs appearing to have been removed and in some cases even eaten out of the victim meant to throw the villagers into a panic about demons attacking to cover their crimes. The Leaf Shinobi that sent the report in had agreed, and believed the girl’s description of events were due to a genjutsu being placed on her. Yet, Chouji wasn’t so sure, so marked the girl’s breakdown of events as something of importance. He also left a recommendation to check neighboring countries to see if there had been a similar pattern of murders. As Chouji had the sneaking suspicion that as the murders had stopped after the girl’s father had died, he might have been the culprit. Writing his thoughts on the matter in a section of the report meant for the insights of those reviewing it, if there were other similar murders, then he suspected the girl’s father might have been replaced by the true culprit, and whoever the elves were in the girl’s recollection might have been sent to eliminate him. The elves might have indeed been shinobi of some sort, but he felt they might have been the solution discharged to stop the murders. Not the causes of it, especially as they took the time to remove the body of the girl’s father while the other victims had been left lying about after their organs had been removed, and supposedly ingested.

Finishing up, he placed it in a bin to his left which resided at the end of the large table he shared with the other members of his cell. The woman that sat at the end of the table, indicating her position as leader of the cell, smiled at him as she picked it up to begin reading the insights her group had about it contents. Chouji spent a moment studying her, and thought that she certainly looked more feminine then when he had first seen her as she failed the exam during his first Chunin Exams he had participated in. Particularly due to her wearing her brown hair longer which ended in a loose ponytail. Not to mention how she had traded in the loose green top that she had worn for a T and I department styled uniform with a skirt that hugged her curves.

He noticed Inaho frown as it appeared that she had reached the part of the report most everyone at the table had marked as important. Placing it down before her and addressing her team she said, “Everyone, listen up.” When she had everyone at the table’s attention, she stated, “I feel many of you fail to grasp what it is you are supposed to be doing with these reports. Raise your hand if you marked off the importance of the murders sent in by our agent located in Bean Jam Country.”

Chouji like most of those at the table raised their hands, and Inaho stated, “Good, now tell me why?” He wanted to smile as he realized that Inaho was exempting him from the example she was about to make, as she explained, “I see a lot of confused faces, telling me that you think it is just the gruesome nature of the murders that are interesting. Chouji, please share with them your insights.”

Chouji felt a bout of nervousness which stemmed from his academy days. But, he stood as fought it down before he explained, “I think the murders might have been some experiment or other bizarre happening that someone lost control of. If so, its possible another country might have experienced something similar and those elves the girl spoke of had been dispatched to take care of it. As the murders had stopped in the area, it’s likely the father was in some way involved.”

Inaho nodded and focusing on the rest of her team as she said, “It isn’t enough to say something is significant because it is weird or unique. You need to have an idea of why it is something worth following up on as now thanks to Chouji, we have an avenue that we can follow. It might not lead to anything, but at least Chouji put some thought into why these murders are something of interest for us.” Focusing on the Akimichi she said, “Head to the Archives and pull records from reports submitted in the past few months in Red Bean and surrounding countries that may have had similar unsolved murder cases in them.” She stood as she added, “I’ll go to the agent assignment department to suggest those assigned to surrounding countries look and see if there is a trail of similar murders that we can find. With any luck, Chouji may have given us a lead which might turn into something worth checking out further. All because he saw what most of you dismissed as the ramblings of a scared girl. We aren’t having you look through these files just to say that is strange or unusual, anyone can do that. You’re meant to provide insights into why it might be worth checking into these events.”

Chouji smiled proudly and realizing he hadn’t actually gone to the archives so asked, “Um, do you mind showing me the way, and how best to find the files you suggested I pull?”

Inaho smiled politely as she shook her head while standing and answered, “Not at all.”

Chouji’s smile brightened as she turned to walk away, and as he began to follow, he couldn’t help taking a moment to admire her butt as she smoothed out her tight skirt, and thought, “No, there is certainly no mistaking her as a woman in that getup.” He was glad that he wasn’t caught staring as she turned back to favor him with another soft smile, making him wonder if she suspected where his eyes had been. Still, while in the past Chouji quickly might have dismissed the idea, especially as it would indicate Inaho hadn’t exactly minded the idea of him checking her out. He felt his time with Oboro was certainly making him more confident as instead of dismissing the possibility, he let himself picture a scenario where she would be signing his praises in an entirely different manner.

However, he pushed the fantasy out of mind as he stepped out into the hall after the kunoichi since that was putting the cart before the horse, and first he needed to prove his theory was worth checking into further. If it did, then perhaps it would be a lead which might bring him closer to Ibiki’s supposed Shadow Cabal, and if so, a step closer to his ambition of a world where he had removed Sasuke’s head from his shoulders. But, allowing himself another glimpse down at his superior’s tight little package, he thought it didn’t have to be a journey entirely devoid of little enjoyable detours.

*****************************
Chouji was confused as he had arrived to the office that morning to find Inaho waiting for him. Before he could even say hello, she had shoved a file into his hands and told him to follow after her. She had then stated, “Make yourself familiar with that file as you’ll be handling the interrogation of the person.”

Doing as instructed, a feat made harder as Inaho was setting a rather brisk pace, forcing him to split his focus so as not to barrel into anyone. He found the subject he would be questioning was a woman named Yurika. His interest in the woman and anger intensified as he reached the part of the file where it stated that she was being interviewed for her suspected involvement in setting Iruka up. Before he could question why, Inaho came to a stop stating, “We’ll be observing in the next room over. Good luck.”

Feeling out of his element, he opened the door to find the woman in the room didn’t exactly match the photo found in her file. The primary difference being that her profile photo showed an attractive, but serious looking woman. While the one before him looked no less attractive, her face showed a vague disinterest in her current situation as if she would rather be somewhere else. Which was probably the case for most people who found themselves in her situation, but he imagined they would be showing signs they were aware of the gravity associated with being called into the T and I department. Yurika on the other hand, just looked as if she was upset because she was missing a date, which she was dressed for as she had on a thin gray dress that hugged her frame. Another thing that Chouji noticed, was that her face appeared thinner and more sunken than her profile picture, making him suspect that she likely had a drug habit of some sort.

Reading deeper into her file while he slowly moved to sit opposite from her, he began to feel some pangs of sympathy for her as he learned that she was one of Furofuki’s victims. However, it evaporated as she said, “Is this going to take long? It’s Ladies’ Night at The Shadow’s Lounge.” Chouji decided to ignore her in order to upset her, as it gave him more time to study what was leading the T and I department to suspect her of colluding with the Darkness Village. It didn’t take him long to determine that there wasn’t much evidence other than her translation of the letter the Warden had sent in reply to Iruka’s asking for a meeting had been handled by her. Which after examining the original untranslated document, showed that the date the Warden had told Iruka had been changed to the date of the attack.

“Hey,” she said as her patience began to fray, “I don’t know what you guys think I’ve done. But, it wasn’t me. So, can I go now?”

“No,” Chouji answered as he closed her file, “The reason you are here Ms. Yurika is because you are a person of interest in regards to our investigation into how the Darkness Village pulled off their attack on the Leaf Maximum-Security Prison.”

“What!’ Yurika said dismissively, “That’s insane. All I do is translate documents.”

Chouji pulled out two evidence bags from the file as he stated, “Which is precisely what has landed you here?” Placing them before her, he explained, “Inside these bags are the letter that was sent to Iruka Umino from Warden Dokuraku, and the translation of it which he received from your office.”

“So,” the kunoichi replied in a confused manner, which if she was faking, Chouji would say that she was doing a masterful job.

“So,” Chouji repeated for emphasis before laying out the case, “Having reexamined the letter sent from the prison, it is clear that your translation of it changed a single key detail.”

“Well don’t leave me in suspense,” Yurika replied snidely causing his anger to spike, “Because I have no idea as to what you are talking about.”

“Really, so you’re claiming it is just a coincidence that in your translation of said letter, the date that the Warden requested Iruka visit him on was changed to be the same day that the Darkness Village attacked the Prison,” Chouji said angrily. “Because from where I’m sitting that would be one hell of a coincidence.”

Yurika for the first time since he had entered the room seemed to get a clue as to the direness of her situation. As a result, a small sliver of concern appeared as she replied, “I’m not saying that at all. I genuinely have no idea about what letter you are talking about.”

Chouji didn’t soften his tone, as he felt remaining belligerent was giving him better results, while stating, “That’s hard to believe considering your name is shown as the one that signed off on the packet.” He pulled another evidence bag out of the case folder and which had contained the brown packet, that the original letter from the prison and that had held a copy of the translation that was made of it. The outside of the packet contained key information of what would be found inside and was signed by the one that had done the translation. Yurika frowned as she saw her signature on the packet, but Chouji didn’t let her ponder it long as he pressed his case, “Sure, you can try claiming that you have handled hundreds or maybe even thousands of translations since then so this one doesn’t stand out. However, as you even went so far as to make sure the copy which was sealed in the packet for record keeping showed the correct date, something tells me you were of the opinion that no one would ever go searching for the letter Iruka received. A reasonable assumption to make considering Iruka had business there all the time due to his working with the young prisoners there as a teacher. But, unfortunately for you, someone noticed in the crime scene photos taken of the prison that the Warden had penciled in on his personal calendar that he had expected Iruka’s visit the following month. That sent us scrambling to find the letter that Iruka received which you translated, and revealed your complicity in putting him there on the day of the attack.”

“It wasn’t me,” Yurika replied, “I never actually translated this letter.”

“Tell me another one,” Chouji said dismissively.

“I’m serious,” the kunoichi said as her voice took on an angry note, “Why would I agree to set up some loser teacher who probably got murdered by the very scum he was trying…”

Chouji snapped as he surged from his chair and grabbed the kunoichi by the throat as he easily picked her up to pin her against a wall while shouting, “The only loser involved here is you. I don’t know why you would agree to set him up, but if I had to guess it was to support a drug habit that you’ve developed while running from your own issues. But, we’ll find the connection and when we do., I’m going to enjoy watching them put you down.”

Yurika had trouble speaking due to his tight grip but managed to squeak out, “It….wasn’t me… someone else has been doing my work for me from time to time. I never said anything as it lets me cut out early. It was probably whoever did the other translations.”

“Chouji, put the suspect down and leave the room,” Ibiki’s voice stated as it came from a speaker located in the corner of the room.

Doing as ordered, he released his grip on her throat which caused her to fall to the ground. Due to her landing less then gracefully on her rear, he could see up her skirt and noticed that she wasn’t wearing any underwear making him guess that she had expected to end her night in a drunken one-night stand. “Pathetic,” he stated feeling nothing but disgust at what the woman had become. He then turned his back on her as he collected the file that he had brought into the room.

Stepping into the hall, he found Inaho leaving the adjoining room where she and Ibiki had been watching his interrogation. He was somewhat surprised that she didn’t appear all that bothered by his outburst as she gave him a quick understanding smile before entering the room he had just vacated. Moving to the door that she had appeared from, he spent a moment collecting himself as he suspected that he was going to be chewed out for his less than professional behavior. Yet, upon entering the room, he found Ibiki dispassionately watching on as Inaho comforted the woman, while subtlety prodding her for more details.

Chouji moved to stand behind the leader of the T and I Department as he watched on with his hands in his pockets as Inaho asked who Yurika believed would be doing her work for her. The kunoichi appeared somewhat reluctant to answer, which Chouji imagined was due to her viewing the person as a friend, but after a little nudging gave up the name of a woman named Shiho. Chouji felt his disgust for the kunoichi ratchet up a notch as it was apparent to him that regardless of whether or not she believed her friend had set her up or not, she was giving the woman’s name up to get herself in the clear.

Ibiki decided to address him at that point making the Akimichi suspect that the special jounin had been watching him in the glass as much as he was taking in the conversation that was happening on the other side. “I wouldn’t be so quick to judge her too harshly. More than one fool has allowed himself to head down a path of destruction believing it more noble to protect a friend then to save themselves. Most rarely accept that the friend whom they protected never viewed them as anything but a means to an end.”

“Do you feel that is the case here?” Chouji asked somewhat surprised Ibiki wasn’t reprimanding him for his less than professional behavior.

“No,” Ibiki said turning away from the glass, “Although I never suspected that it was Yurika either.” Spotting the confusion on his face, the Special Jounin explained, “When we arrived at the Cryptanalysis Department this morning, Yurika wasn’t there and arrived almost an hour late.”

With the new information, Chouji realized that the reason she appeared dressed up for a night on the town, despite the early hour, was likely due to her running late so had spent the night at someone else’s home. He also surmised that if Ibiki didn’t feel she was a suspect, it meant that he had likely already had her under surveillance and knew she wasn’t going to be at the office when he and his men arrived.

Giving voice to a theory that was forming he stated, “Your arrival at her office wasn’t just to bring her in. It was to monitor how the people she worked with reacted.”

“Yes,” Ibiki replied with a small hint of pleasure at his subordinate’s insight. “Having a squad of trained investigators lounging around is prone to make even the most confident of criminals a little nervous. But, Shiho suspected that the reason for our presence was someone noticed the discrepancies in Yurika’s paperwork. She admitted as much, and even provided a list of translations that she did.” Ibiki chuckled as he added, “She also imbedded a code into the translations that she did to make sure they could be traced back to her.”

Chouji frowned as he stated, “That seems rather convenient. Isn’t it possible she imbedded that code to clear herself of suspicion.”

“It is a possibility,” Ibiki admitted but his tone made it clear that he didn’t consider it a likely one. “But, Shiho knew she and the others in the department were playing a dangerous game while covering for Yurika’s behavior. The reason she created the code was she suspected someone else was also covering for Yurika by doing her work and so wanted a surefire means of differentiating the translations she did for her with someone else’s.”

Chouji’s frown deepened as he said bitterly, “They should all be fired from the department. Because of them…”

“Wanting to help a colleague and friend is only natural,” Ibiki stated cutting off his rant before it could begin. “Yurika was rather well loved in the Cryptanalysis Department, which is why the entire department remained silent about her less than professional behavior. Yet, I can’t deny that it appears that a snake among them took advantage of their kindness. However, even I would prefer to work in a village that seeks to help those around us, then just cut them loose. Even if it is my job to crack down on the vulnerabilities born of such kindness.”

“What will happen to the department,” Chouji asked after a moment.

“The entire department will be reprimanded accordingly. While Yurika will be transferred out of it, and depending on what her tox screen comes back with, she may be placed on suspension until she cleans up her act,” Ibiki replied before turning partially away to monitor what was going on in the other room. “However, Shiho may have inadvertently given us a means of at least seeing if any of the other translations that were filtered through Yurika were tampered with.”

“You intend to use Shiho’s list to determine if any of the ones she did for Yurika have been similarly modified,” Chouji stated and felt some pride as Ibiki gave him a pleased looking nod. After a moment of further pondering, he couldn’t really see the point so asked, “But what does that prove? It still brings us no closer to finding who made the changes.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure that is the case,” Ibiki replied and seeing that Inaho was wrapping up her questioning of Yurika gave the Chunin his full attention as he explained, “Let us assume for the moment that a few of Yurika’s translations have been altered, and that one of them falls on Shiho’s list. What does that tell us?”

“Perhaps that the traitor is aware of her recent behavior and so planned to take advantage,” Chouji answered after a few moments of silence.

“True, but that primarily makes the most sense if none of Yurika’s other translations have been altered or if only Yurika’s translations have been,” Ibiki said his gruff voice not betraying if he was pleased or disappointed by the answer. However, as he elaborated on the point, Chouji imagined it would be mostly disappointment. “Take the letter that we know was tampered with, since pretty much every communication that travels in or out of the village for official reasons is encrypted. The chances that Yurika would be assigned translations of value to the spy are small. Especially, since for Sasuke’s trap for Iruka to work, the traitor needed to be sure the letter was assigned to Yurika if he wanted her to be some kind of fall guy for if the tampering was ever discovered.”

Chouji’s eyes grew wide as he realized, “The only person that could insure that she received the necessary papers for decryption would be the Department Head Mitoku.”

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” Ibiki cautioned. “First, we have to prove the traitor is indeed located in the Cryptanalysis Department. There are other avenues that would have allowed for Iruka to receive the tampered with message. Such as the mailroom once it cleared the department, or even the postal worker that delivered the letter. Moreover, while Mitoku is a likely candidate if more than one decrypted message has been tampered with or many of them have been filtered through Yurika recently. We can’t rule out anyone in the department, since the traitor could just be there to feed the Darkness Village information, and was only asked to act directly this one time. Based on how the paperwork was handled within the department, it appears that it wouldn’t have been too difficult for our traitor to pull what files he was interested in without us being the wiser. At least before they were passed to Mitoku, and then sent to our archives.”

“Understood,” Chouji replied, before Ibiki returned his full attention to watch Inaho finish her interrogation. Rather surprised that his superior hadn’t reprimanded him for his behavior towards Yurika, he stated, “Sir, about my actions in there…”

“You acted exactly as I expected you would,” Ibiki stated as he turned back towards the Akimichi. “That isn’t to say I am pleased, but it is clear to everyone that Iruka is a hot button issue for you. It may surprise you, but in my opinion, you’re not acting that much different than Yurika in there.”

“Sir, with all due respect…”

“You’re nothing like her,” Ibiki replied with a gruff smirk before chuckling. “Oh, you’re certainly putting your pain to a more productive use than her. However, if Mitoku is the traitor, then he used her weakness to his own ends. Just as I used your anger to further my goal to get Yurika to open up to Inaho.”

“But, how could you even know she would bring up Iruka in a way to trigger me?” Chouji asked feeling rather used at what his commander was revealing.

“Simple,” Ibiki stated as he moved to stand before Chouji and with his height advantage seemed to loom over him. “Why are you here?” The T and I Department Head didn’t wait for an answer as he continued, “You’re here because you want revenge for Iruka’s murder, and you feel this is the best place to further that goal. That woman in there however, is caught up in her own pain, much as you are, and when two selfish people meet. it is inevitable that sparks will fly. One callous dismissal of the event that is currently your driving motivation, and that anger you keep bottled up springs to the surface.”

Chouji began to feel the shadow that Ibiki was casting on him was weighing him down, but it ended as the man turned to walk back towards the one-way mirror. After a moment, the Akimichi asked, “If you feel that way, then why haven’t you booted me out of the department?”

“Anger is a useful and powerful motivator,” Ibiki said without looking back. “The key is not to let that anger control you, or to allow others to harness it for their own ends. A part of my job is to make you aware of your own weaknesses, so that our enemies can’t exploit them.” Seeing that Chouji appeared to be taking his words to heart, he turned as he added, while tapping the glass behind him lightly with his knuckle, “Otherwise, you might find yourself on the other side of this glass for much the same reason Yurika currently is.”

*****************************

Oboro felt a frown threaten to appear, but kept it from doing so for the sake of her guest, as she heard the light above the elevator ding as it switched on, indicating someone had entered the code to ascend to her room. The reason for her reaction was due to the rather extreme feeling of nervousness that she felt. Which was brought about due to her belief that today would be a make it or break it moment in her project to fasten Chouji into the spy and weapon her client Goenitz desired. She would admit that in the process that she undertook to create such agents, this nervousness was always there since she felt it in essence determined if she had been wasting her time. Much as a blacksmith might have to make such a call after quenching his blade in oil only to realize it hadn’t properly hardened or had warped during the sudden cooling. Granted, there would be other parts in the process where she might come to realize that there were other defects in the blade that she was trying to fasten Chouji into. But, she felt the nervousness at this point was primarily because most of the work went into forging the blade.

The reason that she was feeling those nerves more acutely this time around, was because her blade had been quenched before she had been ready. She had to give Ibiki credit, as ever since he had exposed how Chouji’s anger made him easy to manipulate, the Akimichi had at times grown wary of her efforts to egg him down a particular path. Luckily, whenever he would give her a look where it appeared as if he was trying to determine if she had a hidden agenda, a quick pivot from her would usually end with him buried inside her and once finished all such concerns were a thing of the past. But, with it being apparent that she could no longer stoke the fire of his anger without coming under scrutiny from him as to why. She feared that she would have to resort to more traditional means of getting him to become a spy for Goenitz, which considering the number of times that she had admonished him for being so impatient, meant that she expected he would enjoy serving her a piece of humble pie should she deliver him an inferior product.

Which was why tonight was such a big deal for her, as either she would manage to stoke the fire of his anger once more to finish forging her would be spy, or she would bring him to heel using more traditional means. If she went the latter route, she knew it would only be a temporary stopgap in order to silence Goenitz long enough for her to start her forging process anew. Yet, she genuinely hoped it didn’t come to that, not just because it would mean she had failed. But, because she found Chouji actually was a fuck buddy worth keeping and felt that if she needed to resort to blackmail or some other means of coercion to get him to work with her, she’d break what made him such an enjoyable fuck.

Hearing then elevator settling into place, she put on a smile as she stood to greet Chouji, and found her nerves slowly fading away to be replaced with curiosity at how the Akimichi would react once he spotted who her guest was.

*****************************
Chouji stepped out of the elevator and smiled as he noticed Oboro approaching him. He was tentatively aware that they weren’t alone in the room, but figuring the woman was likely another escort the red-head had ordered, so didn’t bother focusing on her. Oboro moved in to give him a sensual kiss, but stopped as her guest upon noticing his arrival said, “What the fuck is he doing here?”

Directing his gaze on the woman, his eyes grew wide in surprise as he found Yurika staring at him angrily from a couch. His eyes then shifted from her face to several lines of different colored powders which were arrayed out in front of her on a coffee table. Chouji recognized the substance as Dust, and wasn’t too surprised considering how he had heard that Yurika’s toxicology report had come back indicating there had been several drugs in her system. Which when she had been confronted about it, she had opted to quit rather than to seek treatment. From, what he had heard it had been quite the blowup, with her even verbally attacking her friend Shiho, who had tried to encourage her to seek help.

Chouji frowned as he began to wonder if he had been setup, a feeling he suspected the Yurika was having as well. However, to him, Oboro appeared genuinely confused by their reactions at seeing each other as she asked, “Do you two know each other?”

Focusing his gaze on her, he couldn’t help feeling the nagging suspicion that she was just playing dumb. Although, he attributed the sensation to being the byproduct of doubting everything and everyone that Ibiki was trying to instill in him through stunts such as using his anger to get Yurika to open up to Inaho. Or, looking underneath the underneath as was more commonly taught. It was a lesson that Asuma hadn’t really tried to install in him, Shikamaru, and Ino. But, Chouji figured that it was primarily because his team’s dynamics relied so heavily on their working together that it wouldn’t exactly be wise to start introducing doubt among teammates. Which was why, while he had heard other shinobi throw the term about, he suspected that it wasn’t exactly meant to cause a shinobi to begin questioning the intentions of fellow Konoha-nin in the manner Ibiki used it.

However, as Ibiki had demonstrated, even fellow Konoha-nin had agendas of their own, and it was the duty of the Torture and Interrogation Department to ferret them out, particularly if they posed a danger to the village. Having tended to let Shikamaru do his thinking for him, Chouji wondered if the doubt he felt around Oboro was just his newly developed suspicion of others getting the better of him, or if it was just a byproduct of his own self-doubts, since he still had a hard time believing a woman of her beauty and standing would desire him.

In this particular case he was leaning to it being the former, since while he had shared with her how Ibiki had demonstrated to him how his anger could be used to lead him to act towards another’s unstated desires. He hadn’t really gone into any great detail, about the matter only stating that he had used someone that had turned out to be only tangentially related to Iruka’s death. As such, he felt it wouldn’t really have been enough to lead Oboro to believe Yurika had been involved. Although, he considered that it wasn’t entirely out of the realm of possibility since he had seen Ino’s mother make some amazing leaps in deductive reasoning that turned out to be true based solely on what gossip was floating around the village.

Still, considering from what he learned about how Yurika had been spending her evenings ever since being attacked by Furofuki, he couldn’t say he would be to surprised to learn she had turned to prostitution after leaving Konoha’s Cryptanalyst Department. Which seemed to be the case as Yurika snatched up the compact that held several vials of Dust in it as she said angrily, “I don’t know what game you assholes at the T.I. Department are playing at but I’m fucking out of here.”

Chouji was inclined to let her go, but Oboro stopped her as she tried to make for the elevator. Grabbing her roughly by the arm she said, “Like hell you are. I paid good money to be entertained tonight. Most of which has probably already disappeared up your nose. So, unless you have a wad of cash to repay me, you’re going to sit that tight little ass back on that loveseat while we determine which of us is going to have first crack at it.”

Yurika meekly did as she was told, while Oboro turned to face him with an almost pleased smile as she said, “There seems to be some history between you.” Her hand moved slowly down his chest, to eventually cradle his cock through his pants, which had become semi-rigid due to the red-head’s handling of the woman that he still harbored more than a few negative feelings towards her. He fought back a groan as she stated, “She must have been the one your boss used in his little lesson. This is quite the delicious little opportunity to get a little payback, or at least take out some frustrations you still harbor towards her.”

Although, he found the idea rather appealing he stated, “I’m not sure that would fly over well with my superiors.”

Oboro immediately removed the hand rubbing him through his pants as if his package had turned red hot. Although, her tone remained civil, she gave a clear sense of disappointment as she said, “Then you should probably leave if that is your concern. I’ll call the next time I want to meet up.”

She stepped away from him to proceed around the couch and desk one first saw of the living room area when stepping off the elevator in order to join Yurika on the loveseat. Chouji’s eyes shifted to the brown-haired woman who appeared somewhat relieved that it seemed he was bowing out. He was about to turn away suspecting that he would probably never receive that call from Oboro. However, before he did, Yurika decided at that moment to take another hit of her Dust as she pulled out one of the vials from her compact which she snorted a blue powder from. She shivered in enjoyment before sitting back on the loveseat and raised a leg to display her uncovered snatch to the approaching Oboro.

To him, the pose that she took was rather similar to the one that she had fallen into when he had dropped her to the floor of the interrogation room a few weeks earlier. That coupled with Yurika’s willingness to get high in his presence, caused his anger to explode forth at her still apparent disregard for how her pathetic behavior had led to good people dying.

Letting his returned anger dictate his actions, he followed after Oboro and reached her just as she was about to lean forward to sample the pussy that she had paid for. Snaking a hand around the woman’s waist, he pulled her back towards him roughly. The reddish-violet haired woman sent him a pleased look over her shoulder, before receiving the possessive kiss that he gave her. Pulling his mouth from hers, he gave Yurika a self-satisfied look as he said, “Why don’t you show her the cock that she’ll be enjoying this evening.”

Oboro rubbed her ass against his crotch causing it bulge as she shimmed over to the side enough to expose his fly. Then reaching back, she pulled it down and caught his meaty cock as it fell free of his pants. Chouji groaned as she gave it a few strokes, and more than his cock swelled as Yurika gave it a hungering look.

Chouji felt some of his anger begin bleed off as his conscious reminded him of the trauma the woman had suffered only a few months earlier. Particularly, as unlike with Oboro, who seemed capable of keeping him emotionally primed for the rough and tumble sex that they had basked in for the past several weeks, Yurika came off as unresponsive, as if waiting to see how he would take her. It made him wonder if the reason Yurika spent her nights out partying and sleeping around was to find someone that could scratch the itch that Furofuki had left her with but hadn’t succeeded yet because she wasn’t sure as to what those encounters were lacking. As such, he began to feel a little uncomfortable as he stood exposed before her, since he recognized that unlike the many men that she had entertained up till now, he possessed some insight into what had broken her, and so felt he would be taking advantage of her in a way her other partners hadn’t.

Again, feeling on the verge of backing out, he was stopped as Oboro suddenly let his cock go to step on the couch Yurika was sitting on the edge of. His cock lurched as Oboro stepped behind the brown-haired woman and hiked up her dress to expose her dripping pussy to him. She then slid down behind Yuika before cupping her chin so that Yurika opened her mouth while she said, “What’s the matter? Getting cold feet again? You’re not exactly showing me that manly side that makes me believe you’ve got what it takes to avenge your old teacher.”

Chouji’s gaze narrowed darkly, as he had noticed Yurika’s body stiffened slightly at Oboro’s words. But, the violet haired woman paid him no mind as she pushed her middle finger into the disgraced Kunoichi’s mouth, and began prodding her tongue. Yurkia responded to the stimulation as she began using her tongue to push it about like a small cock. “Stop thinking so much,” Oboro continued as her other hand moved to grope the former Leaf kunoichi’s tit through her dress, prompting her to moan, “This slut is wet and willing, so take out your frustrations on her. I’m willing to bet you’ll both get something out of it.”

Watching Yurika give into Oboro’s actions, particularly as the kunoichi turned her face to kiss the violet-haired business woman, caused much of Chouji’s negative feelings for her to return. Particularly seeing her not even bother to try to comport herself as a proper kunoichi after being reminded of why he would bare a grudge against her. Figuring that as she wasn’t going to correct Oboro that she was there for him to use, there was no reason to hold back. He reached forward and grabbed her roughly by the hair as he said, “Hey Slut, I believe you were told that you would be servicing me first.”

He then jammed his cock into her mouth until he slammed into the back of her throat. Oboro smiled at him as he began fucking the brown-haired kunoichi’s mouth and while she continued to fondle her breast with one hand, slipped her other between the kunoichi’s legs to begin teasing her pussy. Yurika was torn between gagging and moaning as the head of Chouji’s cock smashed into the back of her throat like a ram battering down a door. A door which eventually gave way allowing him to plunge it into her throat. Chouji stopped as he gripped her head in both of his hands, and groaned in deep satisfaction as his cock fully disappeared into her mouth. He stared down at her as he left himself fully buried in her throat, and admitted he enjoyed the way she stared up at him, particularly as her eyes grew watery and took on a pleading look as the need to breathe became overpowering. The hands that she had gripped his hips with as he fucked her mouth tightened as if to push him away, but she never did. Her reasons for not doing so became apparent as Oboro said with a smirk, “The slut is definitely getting off on this. She’s staining my cushions.”

Chouji returned the smirk as he let go of her head, allowing the woman to pull back as she began gasping for breath. He felt his lust spike wildly as he watched her panting with the make-up around her eyes running due to the tears, and still technically connected to his cock due to her spit and mucus stretching between them. Before she could fully capture her breath, he again grabbed her by the hair and forced his cock down her throat holding it there a few moments, before pulling back and repeating the process. While Chouji fucked her mouth, Oboro ripped off the straps of Yurika’s dress causing her tits to spill out as her dress fell away from them. He enjoyed the sight of them jiggling, and even lost himself in the moment not noticing as Oboro slipped out from behind her, at least until he felt his balls contract. Burying his dick deep down her throat, he groaned as he fired his seed almost directly into Yurika’s belly. To his surprise, she began to shake and her eyes rolled up into the back of her head, making him realize that she was cumming as well.

Letting go of her hair, the kunoichi fell back into the couch with a blissed-out look causing him to also notice that Oboro was now sitting in a nearby chair, while lightly rubbing her snatch. Taking note of his satisfied smile, she asked a little smugly, “Did you enjoy yourself?”

Chuckling at how the woman seemed to be able to read him so well, he said, “Yeah, maybe a little more than I should.”

He expected Oboro to be somewhat upset with him, due to it seeming like he was back slipping now that he had his fun. But, instead she seemed amused as she mollified him by saying, “That whore just came from you fucking her mouth like you owned it. If anything, she’s the one that enjoyed it a little more than she should have.”

Chouji laughed as he couldn’t deny that, but before he could continue to banter, his eyes went wide in surprise as Yurika gripped his hand and pleadingly said, “We’re not done, right? I… I need to feel you inside me. Use me more!”

She then sat back in the couch again as she began to rub her pussy while staring up at him longingly. Chouji was torn between lust, and disgust at the kunoichi’s behavior due to just how far she had fallen. Allowing both feelings free reign, he pulled off the rest of his clothes, before pulling her from the couch by her hair as he took her place and said, “Fine, if you want to be nothing but my personal fucktoy, then show me what makes you worthy of the position.”

Yurika didn’t even bother removing the dress now bunched up around her midsection as she quickly and almost reverently took ahold of Chouji’s cock with one hand and facing away from him slid down his pole. Once he was fully buried within her, she took ahold of her own tits, which she kneaded and teased, as she began bouncing her hips in his lap. Chouji groaned as she fucked herself on his dick, and couldn’t help feeling like a stud as she worked herself into a near frenzy in order to get him to cum. Although, enjoying himself, he wanted to calm her down lest he burst too soon, and so reached up to grab her throat and pulled her back against his chest. Squeezing just hard enough to make it hard for her to breath, his action seemed to have the opposite effect as she began squirming wildly in his lap. As such, he used his other hand to hold her hips still and began to set the pace as he began slamming into her rough, but at a more moderate tempo.

Yurika calmed down slightly, which was further helped along as he slid the hand gripping her waist over to begin rubbing her clit. The disgraced kunoichi groaned as she arched her back, and began to move her hips around to keep her clit in contact with his fingers. Although enjoying himself, Chouji soon began to feel that he was the one working for the reward, so letting go of her throat ordered, “Turn around.”

The kunoichi immediate complied as she maneuvered herself in his lap so that she was facing him, all without letting him slip free of her tight passage. Not receiving any further orders, she got the hint and quickly began riding his cock, and cooed appreciatively as his hands gripped her tits and began squeezing them. Chouji sat back, and although enjoying the way the woman was working her hips on his cock, for a moment due to the sight of her getting lost in her own pleasure, oblivious to the destruction her pursuit of it had brought about, felt the disgust that he held her in win out. As such, he pictured her rolling her head around on her shoulders moaning appreciate, and just as she screamed her release, saw himself taking hold of her hips and as he exploded inside her, used his family’s Expansion jutsu to enlarge his cock so that she was literally impaled on it.

He quickly shook the disturbing image from his mind, and found Yurika leaning forward as if to kiss him. However, he quickly surged forward, and stood from the couch. He carried her a few steps before dropping to his knees on an expensive looking rug. Admonishing the woman, he said, “Did you just seriously try to kiss me? A fucking slut like you isn’t worth such a show of affection. You’re just a cunt looking to get fucked after all, right?”

He then grabbed both Yurika’s ankles and pushed them forward until her toes touched the ground above her head, and he was arched over her. He then began pounding her pussy for all he was worth causing her to scream out in delight as she felt the first vestiges of true pleasure that had been missing from her existence the past several months. “Oh gods,” she moaned happily, “I’m almost there… almost…”

“Who cares,” Chouji said rudely as he continued to pound her snatch feeling on the verge of release as well, “This is for my enjoyment. You’re just the lucky whore that I’m using as my cum dumpster.”

He felt Yurika tighten up around him as if his words had held enough impact to make him climax, which pushed him over the edge as well. He considered pulling out to deny her the warmth of his seed, but found her pussy was just too good to deprive himself of it. Letting go of her ankles, she immediately wrapped her legs around him, and locked her feet behind him as she urged his rod deeper inside her spasming cunt. Reaching the entrance of her womb, he let himself go, exploding inside and couldn’t deny the kunoichi had a fine cunt as it milked him for all the seed he was worth. Her legs unlocked from around him as she went limp as her climax caused her to black out, and he felt a surge of satisfaction at the almost catatonic look that she wore.

He stood up and arched his back feeling the tinge of pleasure from a job well done, before another need arouse within him. He looked in the direction that he would need to go to satisfy it, but then was struck with a more perverse means of reliving himself and so gripping his flaccid cock took aim to begin pissing on Yurika’s face and chest. He groaned in relief, and noticed that the debased kunoichi began shaking again, and some of his cum began almost shooting from her well fucked snatch, making him realize that she was climaxing again. He shook his head in surprise and amusement as he wore a smirk of satisfaction as his debasing of her, which turned a little sheepish as he remembered Oboro’s presence once she began clapping.

“Quite the show you put on,” she stated with a lustful smile as he turned to face her, “although I don’t think the hotel’s management is going to be pleased about replacing the rug. I believe if purchased new, it is around Fifty-thousand ryo.”

Chouji’s eyes bulged out a little and he tried to apologize as he said, “Um, if its about the money then I can…”

Oboro laughed and once the Akimichi was close enough, leaned forward to suck on his cock. She felt it begin to harden, but before it did completely let him slip free of her lips before stating, “Why don’t you go start a bath so we can freshen up? I’ll be in to join you in a minute. My legs are still wobbly from how hard I came from watching you.”

Chouji moved to lean down to take her in his arms to carry her, but she placed a finger against his lips as she said, “I appreciate the romantic gesture. But, why don’t you put that feeling into getting the bath just right for me. Perhaps then I’ll let you carry me to it.”

***********************************

The Akimichi nodded, and then moved off to do as she asked. Oboro did feel a genuine smile as she watched him walk off to fulfil the task that she had asked of him. Her smile grew wider though as she looked away to see the state that he had left Yurika in. Extremely pleased with how well the night had gone, she reached into the gap between the chair and its pillowed seat to produce a wicked looking knife. Having originally stashed it to have easy access to it, since she had felt fairly confident that she would at the very least be able to get Chouji to fuck Yurika. At which point, she had imagined if he hadn’t really enjoyed the act or felt anything from it, he would probably quickly leave. At which point she would have killed the woman, and used the fact that she was covered in his DNA to blackmail him into working for her client. It would have been less than ideal, and a far cry from the type of agent that she had promised. But, she felt it would have given her more time with Goenitz to scout out, and deliver someone more up to her standards.

Still, although she was pleased to see that she had effectively reheated the fire in Chouji to shape him into the type of weapon that she had promised Goenitz. She knew that he wasn’t quite ready yet, as in keeping with her idea that fastening a truly god agent or spy was similar to creating a knife, she new the next part of the process was the most crucial, the Quench. The Quench was the part of the process where a knife-maker once satisfied with the shape brought the heat up to temperature before plunging it into oil to harden it. It was perhaps the most nerve-wracking as it was during this portion a person’s steel either hardened or would crack under the strain. Ibiki had tried to quench Chouji into a knife to be wielded by the Torture and Interrogation department, and although tonight made her feel that she had successfully undone it, and while she wasn’t entirely sure how she would go about initiating quenching him herself was she had shaped him into the agent she desired. She knew it would be hard on him, and would either leave him ready for grinding him into a final shape, before sharpening his edge. Or, would break him completely leaving her to start all over with nothing to show her client for the months of time she had asked him to wait. To her surprise, she found that she wasn’t entirely concerned with disappointing Goenitz, so much as didn’t wish to see him crack for more personal reasons.

Rather surprised by that, she stood as she heard the sound of water running suddenly stop. Moving to join Chouji in the bathroom, she placed the knife in the drawer of the table one saw upon first exiting the penthouse’s elevator. Sending another look to the still catatonic Yurika, she was glad that she didn’t have to kill her as she felt the woman could be useful in the future. Not only in helping Chouji develop his more sadistic personality, but one never knew when a skilled translator would come in handy. Particularly one that would likely do anything that she asked in order to keep close enough to be used by the Akimichi as she didn’t doubt the man was who the broken woman had been searching for. Feeling the tension that she had felt at the start of the evening bleed out of her, she almost felt like skipping to the bathroom. But, kept herself in check although she did hasten her step a little as the wetness running down the inside of her thighs reminded her that she had needs of her own that required filling.

Next chapter: Hardening the Steel

Author’s note: Hello everyone. Let me start off by thanking everyone that reads and reviews my stories. Well, I don’t have much to say here, although I will probably be posting a Sage’s Corner in the coming weeks. Although the majority of the reviews for chapter 92 were positive, a few of them people were upset about Naruto’s performance in the battle. I was grateful for them even if I don’t agree with their points, so wanted to take the time to explain my reasoning in a more general and overall manner.

I’m also working on the next chapter of Eroninja. I don’t have an expected date for it to drop as it will depend on my weekend schedule. Afterwards, the plan is for the next Limelight Chapter focusing on Mabui, which will also serve as a lead in to the Chunin Exam arc, before then switching to a few chapters of the Pride and the Promise. During that period I will also probably beginning reuploading to Fanfiction.net although it will be a slow process due to me proofreading my old word documents. I’ll probably also correct them on FicWad so you may get quite a few false notifications over that period. After I’m finished reuploading, the first place to receive those updates will be FicWad. I feel it is only fitting to do so, considering it has been such a welcoming site. FF.net will then see the updates a month or two later. I plan to do this in case they ever go through another purge, and I end up losing my precious, precious reviews again.

Anyway, thank you all for reading, and I hope this chapter was enjoyable enough. So until next time. Take Care! Sincerely, The Lemon Sage.
