I should have known that he was hiding something. I should have known that we were too good to be true. I should have resisted his lips on mine, his moans and whimpers, and everything else about him that drove me to the brink of ecstasy each time we saw each other. But I couldn’t. He was my drug, my own personal concoction of poison. And I, like an addict, just couldn’t stay away. I couldn’t listen to reason when others said he was too good to be true. Too seductive. Too perfect in ways most people could never imagine. Oh, but I could. I could imagine every last detail, down to the small scars on his lips from when I bit them too hard, the color of the marks on his neck when I made him mine every night. And learning who he really was just made those nights that much sweeter, hotter, more… passionate. I didn’t care what he could do to me; I had him, and I was never letting go. Or at least that’s what I thought. I thought I didn’t care; I thought that what could happen to me—happen to us—wouldn’t be so bad as long as we had each other. But I was wrong. I was very… very… wrong.
