Chapter 1
"Reflections of a Broken Heart"
Now...
She sat next to the well that connects her world to the Feudal Era. Too many things have happened, too many things have been seen, too many broken hearts and so much sorrow.
It didn't just suddenly happen; it built up and then exploded. It was her fault that she didn't say anything sooner. It was her fault for promising to stay with him forever, even when she knew that he didn't even lover her, not the way she loved him anyway...
Then...
It was when she first saw InuYasha kissing Kikyo, Kagome was pinned to a tree and InuYasha couldn't see or hear her, Kikyo had planned on killing her reincarnation and taking the dog demon to hell with her, to suffer for eternity. Kagome tried calling out his name to get his attention, but he couldn't hear her, or he just didn't care, she wasn't sure.
When it was all over, he tried to pretend that nothing happened, that he wasn't kissing on Kikyo and holding her in his embrace. But of course it did happen Kagome saw it with her own eyes, she wasn't blind you know? So she walked away from him yelling the sit command to subdue him and then she went back to her era to get away from them and away from the heart ache. But she loved him so much, she wanted to be with him, and that was the biggest mistake of her life, she sees that now, but it was too late.
Now...
Kagome said her last goodbyes yesterday, of course the monk and the demon slayer had no idea that it was going to be the last time they ever saw her alive. InuYasha was nowhere to be seen (probably off with that bitch Kikyo) and Shippou was off visiting the remaining heir of the Thunder Brothers family...
She looked around one last time and walked into InuYasha's forest and found the hot spring that her and Sango always bathed in. She carefully emptied her bag and laid out her bathing supplies and a dagger. She then took her time removing her clothing and neatly folded each item and put them down. Kagome slowly entered the hot spring trying to let her body adjust to the temperature of the hot water. She leaned against a flat rock and began to relax while thinking of things from the past.
Then...
It was night time and everyone was tired from the long walk and the battle with a demon that had a shard of the jewel embedded in his forehead. Miroku and Sango were across the campsite on the opposite side of Kagome and were already asleep. Shippou was cuddled up in his usual spot, Kagome's sleeping bag and mumbling something about pockey stealing dog eared demons. InuYasha was settled in a tree just above Kagome and appeared to be asleep as well. Realizing she was the only one awake and probably would be for some time, the Miko thought it would be a good idea to go bathe in the hot spring near by, to help her relax enough to fall asleep. She closed her eyes taking in the sounds of the night, yes it was very peaceful and so quiet, the only thing she could hear were the crickets chirping and the wind rustling through the trees and plants. Kagome started to think back to the time when she first met InuYasha, the day she found him pinned to the tree. He looked so peaceful and adorable in his magical sleep. Who knew that he was a grouchy demon who never gave up no matter what happened. The young lady continued thinking about her and InuYasha's past, when she felt something tweaking in her senses, it wasn't anything scary or dangerous, just something familiar, she slowly opened her eyes to see what it was when she looked up, that's when she saw them, Kikyo's soul stealers.
Kagome wondered what the clay pot was doing around the area and decided to go investigate. She grabbed her towel and dried herself off, then quickly put on her clothes. The Miko slowly made her way towards the soul stealers using her Miko senses to track them down. Kagome finally reached the clearing that they were gathering in, little did she know that what she saw was something that would crush her heart so badly and the sight would be forever burned into her memories, which would therefore bring her to a very bad situation in the near future....

InuYasha: I can't believe you just did that, Baka! Man people are going to be so mad at you!

Enchanted Faery: Um....Kagome...could you do something about his irate hanyou it's driving me nuts!
Kagome:InuuuuuuYaaaasha....SIT BOY!!!!!
(EF hears InuYasha slam into the floor, and laughs evilly!)
