Chapter 14
Mates for Life

Kagome decided that she didn't want to listen to her inner self at the moment and willed it away. When all was quiet, Kagome walked into her room, deciding that she needed a cold shower after all that had happened at dinner, she walked into the bathroom suddenly remembering that she was in the feudal era and there were no showers she said aloud,

"What I wouldn't give for a shower! Maybe I can talk with Sesshomaru and have a waterfall or something like that put in here." She walked back into her room, sitting down on her bed, Kagome reached for the amethyst on her neck and summoned Mi San.



"You summoned me, Kagome?"

Kagome to stripped off her dinner gown and pulled on a pink robe. She sat down at her vanity table, grabbed her hair brush and began to run the brush through her hair.

{Kagome? Why are you not in my chambers?}

{Sesshy-kun? Well I kinda got distracted, I need to bathe before I go there and Mi San was supposed to tell you.}

[In Sesshomaru's chambers...]

Servants moved around Sesshomaru's room, preparing it for Kagome's visit. The room was huge. It had double glass pained doors that opened to a large balcony which was overlooking the sea. There was a large stone fireplace on the wall furthest from the balcony, a fire blazing inside it to give heat to the normally cool room. In front of the fire place stood a large furry bear demon throw rug, a bear that Sesshomaru had hunted and killed years ago because it was trying to overtake his castle (bad idea on the bear demons part, he obviously didn't know who he was dealing with, and the proof of that is what is lying in front or the fire place) across from the fire place against the wall stood a western style bed, no futon here. It was large and carved with intricate designs on the posts and headboard as well as the foot board. It had long silver silk curtains hanging from it. The bed spread was also silver, it had the most beautiful embroidered designs, it was a picture of a large and powerful dog demon soaring in the skies, looking down upon a village, almost as if it were protecting it.

Sesshomaru studied the servants handiwork and after giving it some thought, decided that it was acceptable and dismissed them.

Sesshomaru walked to a small round table it between two big fluffy western style chairs that stood near the fireplace. It had a platter of fruit and a decanter of black berry wine as well as two wine goblets made from gold. He poured the sweet wine into the goblets knowing that Kagome was just beyond his door, ready to knock, but before she could knock, Sesshomaru said,

"Enter."

Kagome briefly stood outside the door, took a deep breath and carefully slid it open. She entered Sesshomaru's room and slid the door closed.

"Hello Sesshy-kun, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting"

"No matter, you are here now, please sit down." Sesshomaru motioned Kagome to one of the chairs. The Miko walked over to the chair and sat down, her nerves causing Kagome to shake a little from nervousness.

"Are you alright?" asked Sesshomaru

"Oh, yeah, just nervous I guess, nerves you know?"

Sesshomaru grabbed a goblet of wine and handed it to Kagome,

"Drink, this will help calm the nerves."

"I know that I requested that you start your training tomorrow, but I have decided to postpone it for the time being."

"Why? I was looking forward to it." Kagome placed her now empty goblet of wine on the table and looked at Sesshomaru, ready to ask more questions, but was stopped.

"Kagome, please, you know I don't like being interrupted, let me finish then you may ask all the questions you want."

"Sorry!"

"I have decided that you and I are going to take a trip..." Sesshomaru saw the question in Kagome's eyes and proceeded to say, "A trip where, you ask? We will be traveling through InuYasha's Forest, then past the Old Miko's Village until we reach the well that connects your time with ours, we will then..." before Sesshomaru could finish Kagome was on her feet and squealing with excitement and jumped on Sesshomaru, kissing him all over his face and neck.
