I let the police men in and they both stood and waited for me to shut the front door. "Urm, what's going on?" The police men took their hats off. "ma'am, does Andrew Carter live here?" I swallowed. "Yes." "We have reasons to believe your husband has stolen a BMW Z3 colored red." "He's not my husband." I said, rather hurt at what they had told me. I knew it. My eyes started to water and I walked to the sofa motioning them to sit down.
"Do you have any idea where he is?" "No, he doesn't tell me anything." They nodded. "Have you seen the car before?" I nodded my head. "He said it was just something he picked up." They wrote everything I said into a small note book. I told them that I don't know his friends, I don't know where he goes or hangs out. Then while talking, I realized something, I know nothing about my own boyfriend.
"Sorry Miss, what's your name?" "Luka, Luka Mathews." He nodded his head and wrote it down. They had finally finished with all their questions and I walked them to the door. After shutting the door, I threw my back against it breathing heavily, have I gotten Andrew into anymore trouble? Would they suspect I helped him? I really didn't want to get involved at all.
I paced the floor for a bit, thinking, do I tell Andrew? Would he already know? Is this why he came and went? I started to panic, the only person I could talk to was right down stairs, but right now I didn't feel like I could talk to him about this. The door opened distracting me from my thinking. "Andrew?" I said turning round to the door. He shut the door quickly and walked over to me. "They're after me." He said. I nodded my head.
He didn't know what to do, and he actually seemed scared, I watched as he paced up and down the hall. "They were here not long ago." I managed to squeeze out. He stopped in his tracks and looked at me. "What did you tell them?" "There wasn't much I could tell them Andrew, you don't tell me anything anyway." "You liar!" He shouted. "You told them didn't you." "No I never, they knew about the car and who you were." "Yeah, whatever, they knew something and you just filled in the little gaps." "No I-" "Well what should I expect from a screw-up like you?" "Don't!"
He started to throw things around the room, pushing shelves over, smashing plates. Anything he got his hands on, he broke. I sat on the floor on my knees crying loudly to try and drown out the noises Andrew was making. The smashing stopped and footsteps made their way towards me. He grabbed my hair and made me stand up. "What did you tell them!?" He shouted in my face. I could hardly talk, my sobs were out of control. "Don't hurt me." Was all I could say.
I guess he likes to hear me plea, after that, it went in slow motion. I could feel the pain, I seemed to just rise from my body and watched him hurt me in anyway he could. Then I was dragged back in and everything went black. I could still hear him shouting, the door opened and more voices could be hear. I wanted to know what was going on, who was there? But I was too weak to even open and eye-lid.
||One day later||
I heard the beep of the monitors next to me, something caught in my throat causing me to throw my body forward and cough. Someone jumped up from the chair on the other side of me and started to pat my back. As soon as I was relaxed, I looked around finding myself in a hospital bed. "Are you alright?" I looked to the side of me, Gerard stood worry in his eyes. I nodded my head then threw myself at him.
I held him to me, and he squeezed with equal force. Someone walked through the doors causing us to let go of each other. "Ah, you're awake Miss Mathews, you're awake." The nurse smiled warmly as she walked over. She had a clip-board with her and wrote down numbers that came up on the machine's screen "Oh that's really good, you're recovering quickly." She turned to me. "You'll be out of this place in no time." I sighed a relieved sigh and sat back.
The nurse left and me and Gerard sat in silence, it wasn't uncomfortable at all, well, not for me anyway. "I could hear everything." Gerard confessed. "What?" Every time he hurt you, I heard it. That's why this time I phoned the police." My confused look turned into a smile. "I'm glad you did." I said looking at my hands. "But why didn't you tell me about it when I first asked?" "I-I was scared that's all, I've never spoken about my private life with anyone, I never really had any friends." Gerard decided to leave it at that when he noticed tears flowing down my cheeks, he stood up and sat on the edge of the bed, pulling me into a tight embrace as I let out all my emotions.
He held me until I was close to snoozing, but the doors swung open again, Gerard looked behind him I just kept my head on his chest. "Hey Frank." Gerard say pretty quietly, "Is she alright?" "I'm fine." I said sitting up from Gerard. "Oh, hey." I smiled at him and pointed at the chair in front of us. Frank walked round the bed and sat on the chair.

We were in a deep conversation for at least two hours, laughing, joking, every now and again we'd have a serious talk, but you can't be serious when you have Gerard and Frank in the same room. "Oh, there was this time when we had this staple gun, we pinned my younger brother down and stapled a picture of him and his ex to his left butt cheek." Gerard laughed. "Yeah, I had to be the one who took it out, it wasn't bleeding much but it was like 'Hey, there's a little alien coming out of there!" We burst out laughing, see what I mean, this is what it was like, as soon as I would say something serious they would turn it into a joke, I guess I need to lighten up a bit.
They were talking and I went off in a day dream, I only caught the last minute of what they were saying. "Yeah, I was there, I saw him but he didn't see me, I was hiding." I looked at the proud look of Frank's face after he said that and laughed. The nurse came back in. "We have analyzed your data and I'm happy to announce, you're free to go." I gave a large smile.
Gerard stood in the corner of the room with his back to us while the nurse took the needle out of my arm. "Gerard, it's not that bad, at least it isn't in your arm." "They're pointy, sharp and painful, that's bad." He moaned back. The nurse pulled the curtains while I got dressed, as soon as I came out Gerard looked at me and sighed, me and Frank just laughed, it seriously looked like he had seen a ghost.

Gerard was kind enough to give me a lift home, him and Frank sat in the front while I offered to sit in the back. I liked to be in the back, I can avoid conversations most of the time and just stare out the window, which I love doing.
We arrived home, Gerard and Frank walked me to my appartment. I let them both in for a while. "We'll help you tidy up if you want." Gerard offered, I quickly shook my head. "No, that's fine really." "Listen, you've just got out of hospital so, you sit down, and don't move." Frank grabbed my shoulders and gently pushed me onto the sofa.
Gerard and Frank got to work, I couldn't do anything but watch, they don't know where most of the stuff goes! About finve minutes later, Gerard had gotten all the glass and anything sharp swept up and Frank approached me with a cup of coffee. "I really want to tidy up." I pleaded, Frank shook his head and put the coffee on the coffee table. "You just relax, we're fine." He smiled and took some bags of rubbish downstairs.
By the time they were finished they crashed onto the couch and smiled at me. "What?" I asked trying to keep a straight face but failing misserably. "You can stay at mine tonight if you want." Gerard asked, I shook my head and drank some of my coffee. "I'll be fine."

A few hours later Gerard and Frank had left and I walked into the bedroom. It was so different, none of Andrew's stuff graced the floor, there were no half naked women on the wardrobe. It was just...well, bare. I stripped off my clothes and put on shorts and a small top, jumped into bed and wrapped my comforter around me to keep me warm.
The room started to heat up, I could feel my body thrashing about. I shot up in bed, eyes blood shot and drenched in cold sweat, Andrew was still able to hurt me in my dreams. My eyes started to cry and I got out the bed putting on my robe. I ran out of my appartment and went downstairs, I knocked on Gerard's door. No answer. I looked at my watch 2:43. It was rather late. I knocked again and a rough looking Gerard answered the door. "What's up?" He asked wiping sleep from his eyes. "Can I sleep on your couch?" I asked, he looked kind of worried for me and nodded his head.
I sat on his sofa and Gerard came in. "Listen, you have my bed and I'll sleep on the sofa." He said setting himself on the couch with a blanket. "No, it's your appartment." "Listen, just go and sleep in my bed, I'll be fine honest." I sighed, there was no chance I'd win this arguement. I laid in his bed, it smelt like him. I smiled as I burried my face into the pillow.
*Someone's arm snaked it's self around my waste, my eyes opened and someone started to breath on my ear. I rolled onto my other side to come face to face with Gerard. "What are you doing?" He just smiled and stroked my face, "Gerard, stop it." As I pushed his hand away I noticed my skin was as white as death it's self. "You're cold." Gerard wispered. "Are you ill?" I loloked at him, still unable to believe he was doing this. "Appaerently."
I laid there, just staring into his eyes, they were so.....brown? He smiled again for no good reason and kissed my fore head. "I love you." He pulled me into him and I lent my head on his chest. Was this heppening? It's been a while since someone had said those three words to me.*
I woke the next morning with the smell of eggs and sausages filling the air, there was something still in my arms, I opened my eyes thinking I would find Gerard laid in my arms, but to my surprise, it was a pillow. Okay, that's not much of a surprise, but I really did think last night happened.
"Do you have any idea where he is?" "No, he doesn't tell me anything." They nodded. "Have you seen the car before?" I nodded my head. "He said it was just something he picked up."
