?Blocked
A/N- Story takes place in the summer after Half Blood Prince and before the wedding of Bill and Fleur. Voldemort sends a Death Squad to deal with a trio of red headed individuals.
Death is in the Dark
It was after hours and all was quiet in Diagon Alley; that is of course, if anyone could possibly consider the vividly boisterous display of flashing lights, neon tubes and strobe lights that decorate and over-illuminate the facade of“Weasley's Wizard Wheezes” joke shop, to be 'quiet'.
Inside, Fred and George Weasley, the twin owners of the successful establishment, finished their end-of-day routine, straightening and restocking the shelves, recording the daily purchases for later marketing purposes, balancing the till and preparing the morning deposit for Gringotts.
Outside, a slow breeze began to blow, carrying a few drops of rain and a fetid smell into Diagon Alley from neighboring Knockturn Alley. Dirt and debris scattered across the otherwise well kept paving stones in the alley, gathering in the shadowy corners. Upwards, in the darkness atop the roofs of the shops and stores across from the joke shop, several figures enshrouded in black robes and capes, some with hideous masks of bone or metal, walked silently forward, out of the shadows, to better view the empty street below. One masked character, presumably the leader, withdrew a long, dark wand from within the voluminous left sleeve of their robe. A whispered incantation and a wave of the wand, cast a spell that let the caster detect the presence of charms, and in the case of Gringotts Wizarding Bank, a rather strongly reinforced shield, that protected certain businesses up and down the alley. The building that had their attention, the joke shop, appeared to have only a series of lightweight charms protecting it, though with all the flashing lights, he could not be sure.
“Signal the others, young Crabbe.” commanded the leader figure.
One of the dark robed figures raised his wand into the air, sending a miserly shower of green sparks into the air, out over the alley. The dull light revealed the face of Vincent Crabbe, ex-student at Hogwarts, and follower of Draco Malfoy. Known generally as a gorilla-like lackey who had an overactive appetite, the face beneath the cloak was somewhat emaciated, with deep shadows beneath his eyes. Eyes, that, should one be able to see them, appeared quite blank.
Down on the pavement below, three groups of Death Eaters suddenly appeared as they apparated. Overall, seven robed figures approached the front of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.
“Fred! All the Sneakoscopes are going off!”
“Defense plan PHOENIX, George!”
The two brothers quickly activated several Muggle switches, which either turned on, or off, several strategically placed devices inside, and outside, of the shop.
Fred ran over to the stairway doorway, which led to both the rooms over the shop where they lived, and to the basement, which had just been turned into a guest room, where Charlie Weasley, older brother to the twins, was staying in preparation of the wedding between Bill and Fleur. He shouted downwards, “Charlie?”
The finished basement, furnished as a large sized bedroom featuring a queen sized bed, with a small kitchenette and bathroom with shower off to one side, was warm and cozy. It was softly lit at the moment, and fragrant with the distinct scent of human pheromones and various bodily fluids.
Upon the bed, Charlie Weasley, his chest and face flush, both glistening with sweat and the wet aftermath of his girlfriend's explosive orgasm, reclined back on the bed, his head up against a collection of pillows. His right arm was entwined with the long legs to his right. Slowly, one of them pulled forward, over his chest, letting the svelt lower calf to rub against his bristly chin and cheek. Charlie smiled and nibbled on the salty flesh, while his hand began to make lazy, teasing circles on the flesh of her left buttock.
The Japanese girl beside him, Mayumi Zark, a co-worker from Romania, who was now his constant and intimate companion for the last several months, lay on her stomach, with her head near his groin, her own face smeared with Charlie's ejaculate. Her long black braid coiled about her shoulders and back, where it partially covering the artfully rendered tattoo of a Hokkaidan White Hellion dragon. The rest of the braid snaked along her arm to her left hand. Mayumi absently flicked the end of the braid over her lover's deep red, orally abused, semi-swollen cock. Slowly as she recovered her breath, her tongue made a wide swipe around the perimeter of her lips, savoring as much of his cum as she could. She smiled suddenly, her eyes fluttering, as she felt his fingers massaging her backside, teasingly tempting the highly sensitive erogenous zones between the cheeks.
“Charlie?” shouted Fred.
“Y-yes, Fred?”
“We have Death Eaters!”
“Bloody hell and damn!” he said, as both he and May scrambled up off the bed and moved to their clothes. “I'll be right there, Fred!”
May helped him with his clothes first, making sure he had his wand available. As he pushed his bare feet into his dragon-hide boots, May grabbed a fistful of the hair on the back of his head, tilting it, and kissed him hard.
“I'll be right behind you!” she said, as she broke the lip lock.
Meanwhile, George was inside a small closet, where several Foe-glasses were installed, as well as a Muggle made periscope. He gazed into the optics, spotting the Death Eaters on the roof across the way in the periscope, then the seven in the alley out front.
“We've got a dozen, Fred!” he shouted out.
“I hear ya', bro',” was the reply.
Charlie came running up the stairs, two at a time. Behind him a moment later, the lighter sounding steps of Mayumi racing to the top of the steps could be heard.
“Where are they, guys?” asked Charlie as he reached the doorway and stepped into the shop. Over Charlie's shoulder, from the shadows of the stairwell, appeared the face of Mayumi. She placed her right arm around Charlie's mid-section from behind as she listened to what was going on.
“We've got seven out front and about five on the rooftops across the way,” said George as he walked out of the closet.
“Want me to take care of the upstairs, guys?” asked Mayumi.
“Yes, please, May. If you see the Dark Mark, you know what to do?” asked Fred.
“Sure do! Eat it and beat it!” Mayumi's eyes glowed with impending excitement. She had only been in the U.K. for five days, staying with Charlie and the twins at the shop. She had taken to the quirky and mischievous pair right away, having heard many stories about them beforehand.
Charlie turned, kissing her on the cheek. “You be careful, Luv'. Remember, the Ministry first, then the Leaky Cauldron.”
Mayumi kissed Charlie back, and waved to the twins. Quickly, she darted up the stairs, her extremely long black braid flying about behind her. No one noticed the dried white flecks of semen on the end of her hair.
“Okay, places everyone.”
Fred bent down behind one end of the counter top. He reached through from behind and lowered a heavy partition, which gave him clear shot at anyone coming through the front door.
Charlie took position on the other side of the shop, with a clear shot at the front windows.
George went back into the optics room.
“Morsmordre!”
From atop the building across the street, the leader of the Death Eater squad cast the Dark Mark into the sky above Diagon Alley. As the skull formed, the seven Death Eaters below made their move.
Seven wands cast seven different spells at the front door of the shop. Sparks of red, beams of blue and garish green all shot forward. Each spell cast with hatred, fear, and evil intent.
All seven spells were caught by an unseen shield, which absorbed the Magical energies and threw it back upon the casters. Three of the Dark Wizards were prepared and stepped out of the way of their rebounding curses. Four were not prepared. One, screaming in shocked disbelief and immense pain, had the center of his chest become a sizzling mass of burning flesh, as the magical energy burned through and out the back of his body. Two of the four had their spells cross at the point where the shield caught them. The resulting feedback of magical energy raced back to the points of origin, imploding the wands from within. The ensuing explosions sucked the life energies from both Death-eaters, leaving them as smoking grey husks of dessicated flesh. The fourth one, using a spell from an ancient text that she had retrieved for the Dark Lord from China, simply fell frozen to the ground, shattering into a billion motes of matter.
“Fools!Everyone, attack! The Dark Lord wants the Weasleys dead!”
All of the remaining Death Eaters apparated down to the alley below. A barrage of spells slammed into the shield across the front. It handled many of the spells for several minutes, then began to falter. Two more Death Eaters had fallen, though they were still alive.
Suddenly, overhead, a loud blast announced the detonation of a large firework which had been launched from atop the shop. With a launch trail of golden sparks, a bright red rocket climbed into the sky, until it peaked well above the Dark Mark. With another loud burst, the rocket exploded and began to reform. A large, golden red Phoenix was now high in the sky above Diagon Alley. It began to fly, circling the Dark Mark, causing the green magic to fold in upon itself until it was a ball of green smoke. The Phoenix firework opened its mouth and swallowed the remainder of the Mark. It let out a piercing cry, before swooping down upon the Death Eaters below, dissipating over their heads.
At the same time, a rain of small flash bang crackers started bursting all about the confused and bewildered Dark Wizards.
“Awesome!Way to go, May!” George cried out, as he watched the success of his and Fred's hard work and creativity through the periscope optics.
“Go May!” Charlie said to himself, as he hoped his girlfriend was now on her way to get help.
A sudden buffeting on the outside of the glass front of the store warned the three Weasleys that their shield was now down.
“Ready guys?” asked Charlie, his finger on a hidden switch.
“Ready here,” said George, as he abandoned the optics room.
“Ready.” replied Fred.
“Okay, then duck!”
The glass windows on the front of the shop exploded outwards, showering everyone outside with shards of heavy glass and dagger-like pieces of neon tube glass.
Most of the Death Eaters were now on their hands and knees, with temporary blindness and/or deafness, all with lacerations to some extent from flying glass. Only three were standing and able to continue, though one had an eight inch shard sticking from her right bicep, blood flowing freely and dripping from her useless hand.
“We have to go back!” said one tall Death Eater to the leader.
“You fool! We succeed or we die! The Dark Lord will tolerate no other outcome!” he yelled, grabbing the other with his free hand.“Now, get in there and attack!”
All three fell to a barrage of Auror cast 'Stupefy'spells from behind. May had summoned the cavalry.
Sometime later, after all the cleanup, Fred, George, and Charlie were sitting around a large table inside the Leaky Cauldron enjoying a late night round of Mead with Arthur Weasley, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Alastor Moody, Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin. A few minor functionaries of the Ministry were flitting about, doing the required paperwork, and such.
“The plan went well. I want to congratulate your sons for their efforts, Arthur,” Kingsley said. “Unfortunately, while the intelligence we received from within Voldemort's organization turned out to be true, our inside agent is out there on the cold pavement, dead.”
“Who was it, Kingsley?” asked Arthur.
“Pucey. Adrian Pucey,” answered Mad Eye, before he belched loudly. “Not his real name, o' course. He's been working for the Ministry for more than six years, first inside Slytherin House, then within Voldemort's organization.”
“He actually graduated from Beauxbatons eight years ago,” continued Tonks.
“Merlin!” was all Arthur could say at first. Then, "Dumbledore knew?"
"He set it up, Arthur," replied Kingsley. "After all, he had to make sure Pucey was 'sorted' properly."
"But he was never happy about it, let me tell you!" added Mad Eye."If it wasn' for Potter coming t'school, he never would have done it."
Both Fred and George, who always thought they had a pretty good take on things, were stunned to silence at this revelation.
Charlie stood up, and lifting his glass, offered, “To Adrian Pucey!”
The whole table stood and lifted their glasses, repeating, “To Adrian Pucey!”
They all drank deeply and sat back down again.
Softly the door from Diagon Alley opened and closed. Walking softly into the common room, Mayumi, wearing her white leather riding outfit, and a small smile upon her face, made eye contact with Charlie, and said,“Is this a good time?”
Charlie pushed back from the table and hopped up, smiling, as he moved to wrap his girlfriend in a hug which lifted her off of her feet. May laughed as she always did when Charlie hugged her like this. As he set her back down upon her feet, Charlie wrapped his arm around her waist and moved with her over to where his Dad was sitting.
“For everyone who hasn't met her yet, and to you Dad, especially, may I present my fiancée, Mayumi Zark?”
Mayumi's eyes crinkled as she smiled an even larger grin.
Arthur, temporarily stunned, quickly regained his faculties and stood up himself, wrapping May up in his own embrace. Stepping back, he smiled, and said, “Welcome to the Weasley clan, Mayumi!”
Fred and George let out whoops. Charlie hadn't told them of his proposal. They both surrounded their new sister-in-law-to-be, offering their congratulations.
The rest of the crowd were quick to voice their congratulations.
“Everyone, May and I would like to keep this a secret to anyone else. It would seem to be unfair to Bill and his fiancée, Fleur, if we were to suddenly jump on the same stage, so to speak. So please, mum's the word!”
“Mum? Oh. Merlin's beard, your Mother is going to be so angry with me! I told her I would be home hours ago!” Arthur was quickly looking about for his briefcase and coat, when all of a sudden, from the large fireplace, a green flame erupted.
A Scarlet letter, folded and sealed, shot forth out of the fire, and seemingly, fluttered it's way towards Arthur.
The Aurors and Arthur's sons all backed away, laughing and chuckling, knowing they did not want to be caught in the blast radius of one of Molly's Howlers. May, taking her cue from everyone else, stepped back and hid behind Charlie, not knowing what a 'Howler' was.
As the Howler touched Arthur's open hand, it transformed into a large pair of scarlet, origami lips, along with three smaller pairs. Confused, Arthur opened his mouth, only to have all four sets of lips go off simultaneously, saying in quadraphonic sound, “Arthur WEASLEY! You promised you would be home HOURS AGO to help plan for this wedding!!! Not ONE note have you sent! Not one floo message! It has been one of the most special days in this family's history, and YOU'RE NOT HERE!”Then, all four lips blew raspberries at Arthur. Three of the sets of lips self-destructed, spreading bits of confetti all over. The fourth, and smallest one, flew higher, turned around as if to speak to someone else, and with gushing emotion, cried out, “Harry's home!”
Deep in the morgue at St. Mungo's, several bodies lay on the cold, metal tables. Adrian Pucey was being prepared to be returned back to his real family in France, who had already been contacted by the Minister of Magic himself. A second body, determined to have been under the influence of the Imperio Curse for quite sometime, was not wanted by his family. Vincent Crabbe would be cremated, his ashes interred in an unmarked tomb.
