Thanks, but please tell me where you're getting this information from -- in mythology, Hippomenes/Melanion prayed to Aphrodite for help with the race, and she gave him three golden apples, which he dropped during the race so that Atalanta would have to pick them up. Obviously, he won, or she would have sliced his head off.
