Quite the interesting scenario and I'm certain that the death of Cornelius Fudge is in advancement of someone's plans (can't say if it's Tom, Albus, or someone else). It will definitely be interesting when REmus and Hagrid meet Xander (and I agree, sending Severus Snape would not be a good move, he looks way too close to their normal "targets").
