Good pre-start. Really gets us into Harry's feelings for the start of the story. Good use of letters to convey his isolation yet gives us everyone else's feelings too.
For some reason I found Hermione's line "Have you done much of your homework" really touching I don't know why. It just seemed so natural yet caring in a different way.

Yay thank you so much for the review. I'm glad to know someone's enjoying the story. I have developed a habit of squealing if I see there is a new review.
I spent a lot of time trying to show how Harry was feeling, I was a little concerned I was going over the top or ooc, but knowing you found it OK is well good.
I thought it was a very typical Hermione line, I imagined her writing the letter to Harry whilst sitting staring at her 5 roll long piece of homework.
