As a male I can tell you quite categorically, that I would be totally enraged if anyone started writing homoerotic fics about me and one of my work colleagues. Seriously, I would feel violated and would feel nothing but hate and disgust towards anyone that would do that.
People here are writing about real people - not made up characters like Naruto or Harry Potter, or even the Winchester boys from Supernatural, but real people
These Frerard fics have no basis in reality, and are nothing short of character assassination!
So many people think they can write whatever they want under the guise of 'it's only fanfiction', but in the 'real world' if people wrote those sorts of things it would be classed as defamation.
I wonder if people would be so quick to write or defend frerard fics if they all had the person's real name and knew that Frank and Gerard were reading them?
Because I think that should be the test that all Frerard writers and fans should use: Would you be happy to mail a copy of this story to MCR with your contact details on it for their opinion? If not, then maybe you shouldn't post it where you can hide behind your anonymity while telling yourselves that there's no harm done.
As for being disrespectful - that's a bit hypocritical isn't it? You have to give respect to others before you can expect others to respect you.
