Talking with Davey

by Ariel_Tempest 5 Reviews

What does one do when one's an undead pirate sitting on the bottom of the ocean? Note: The first time I saw the movie, I missheard exactly what it was they'd strapped to Bootstrap's bootstraps.....

All the y's got annoying. IMHO, it's better to get speech patterns and accents across with word choice than with phonetic spelling, like when you called them "bities."

All in all, though, this thing is interesting. Can't say I haven't wondered what goes through a deathless man's mind when he's down in the icy black.

I always wondered the same thing. Poor guy, stuck down there with no company but a bunch of fish. Maybe someone will finally rescue him in the sequel?

Author\'s Response: Problem is, if he was still down there at the end of movie one, he's a gonner. However, if you stop and think about it, odds are actually better that they used rope instead of chain. If that's the case, he may very well have gotten out...and oh, the possibilities are endless. evil chuckle

Nicely done. As one reviewer already said, I wondered exactly the same thing when I first watched the movie. From what I hear, though, ol' Bootstrap is bound to make an appearance in the next movie, so maybe we'll find out what happened to him.

"The island may be hot, but Hell is wet."
I love that line, it captures the torture of it very well indeed.

Great job with this piece. Bootstrap's one of my favorites and you did well in rolling through his mental process in such a short time.
