I woke up feeling alone in the bed. I opened my eyes and glanced around the room, Brendon wasn't in the bed anymore, but I heard the shower going in the bathroom. I reached into my purse for my phone and checked the time. 8:58 AM. Thank god it wasn't too late, I really had a ton of work today.

Last night was like a freaking dream, a fairy tale almost of love at first sight. Brendon is supposed to leave today, so what does that mean for me? Is this just a one time fling or something more to him? I really don't know him that well and that does make me a little nervous.

I climbed out of bed and put my dress from last night back on and looked at my face in my compact. Surprisingly I didn't look hideous. My hair still had some of the wave in it from last night and my makeup wasn't smeared at all.

"Morning beautiful," Brendon walked out of the bathroom in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, his hair still damp from the shower. He had the most beautiful smile on his face. He sat next to me on the bed and kissed me tenderly. I couldn't help but let out a satisfied sigh into the kiss, which made him smile as we kissed.

"You got up pretty early." I stated after he pulled away and began putting on socks.

"Yea, Pete called me and asked me to meet him for breakfast since he won't be able to see me later today."

"Did you tell him I was with you?" I wasn't ready for Pete to know because he would be pestering and teasing me for weeks.

"No, I didn't think it was any of his business. He'll find out sooner or later. Probably when he asks where this goofy grin came from," Brendon teased and kissed me again. I couldn't help but smile a goofy grin myself.

After Brendon was ready and I had gathered my things, we made our way down through the lobby and out onto the street. I wasn't really sure what was going to happen from here.

"So you leave tonight? Am I going to see you before you get on your plane?" I nervously asked him.

"Of course, I want to take you to dinner. It'll be a little early, like 5 though. Is that okay?" He pulled out his phone.

"Yes, I should be done by then."

"Here, put your number in my phone so I can call you." I took his phone and typed my number in it and pressed save. When I handed it back to him, he called my phone. "Now you have my number. I'll call you later," he kissed my cheek, smiled and walked off down the sidewalk. I on the other hand wandered in the opposite direction with that goofy stupid grin on my face.

Brendon called me like he had promised and we met at a semi-nice restaurant. He had a single orchid sitting at my spot on the table when I walked up.

"Thanks," I smiled as I smelt the flower.

"You're welcome." He smiled back at me. The waitress came up and we ordered our dinner. We made small talk throughout most of the dinner, laughing the whole time at each other's stupid comments. I have never laughed so much on a date, let alone felt so comfortable.

The waitress came with the check and Brendon handed her his credit card.

"Pete said you'd probably try to pay. He says you never let him buy you dinner."

"Well thank you and I don't. I guess I'm just stubborn like that." I laughed and so did Brendon.

"Well you should get used to someone treating you because as long as you're with me I will be a gentleman and pick up the bill."

As long as I am with him? We're together? That sentence gave me butterflies in my stomach and I just smiled that damn goofy grin again. What has this man done to me.

"So, we're together?" I asked non chalantly as I took a sip of my iced tea.

"Well, only if you want to be. I don't know what it is, but I feel drawn to you Kristin. It was like we were meant to meet last night, ya know?" He said and took my hand from across the table.

"Yea, I felt it too," I blushed a little by his statement.

"I mean, I know I'm leaving in a few hours, but I'm not ready to end anything. I want to keep seeing you."

"I feel the same way," I gave his hand a gentle squeeze and he smiled until his phone rang.

"Shit, it's Ryan to remind me to get back to the hotel so I won't miss our plane." He frowned slightly as he hit ignore on his phone. "I've got to get going."

"Okay," I said and grabbed my purse. The waitress came back with his card and he signed the slip. Brendon and I walked out into the cool evening air and he pulled me close to him once we were away from the door to the restaurant.

"I'll call you after I get home tonight." He said softly and kissed me tenderly. "Goodnight Kristin." He said and brushed the hair off my shoulder.

"Goodnight Brendon." He hugged me and we parted ways.

I feel extremely uncertain of what will happen between us, because long distance relationships never work, but I wasn't scared of it. Somehow I knew that things would work out.
