Saff got a phone call, unknown number,
“Hello?”
“hey, Saff, it’s Stefan… Lisa didn’t like Butch that much, is there anyway we can swap him?” Saff looked at the time, quarter past eight,
“well sure, if she wants she can come round and choose one?”
“what, now?” Saff nodded then remembered he couldn’t see her,
“yeah, if she’s not busy” she heard him talking for thirty seconds.
“Okay, we’ll be there in about fifteen minutes, thanks Saff”
“don’t mention it” he hung up and she went back to the bedroom, looking into the box, the puppies were squeaking, “hey, stop it with the noise guys” she lifted two of them up and put them on the bed, and then the others. There was another high pitched yelp and she looked, one of the puppies Ash had been feeding was trying to walk, she watched it for a few minutes before there was a knock at the door, Jade would open it. Saff heard voices, Stefa and a girl then the front door closing.
“Just knock on the door before you go in” Jade said, Saff chuckled and opened the bedroom door,
“come in” she said. Stefan and, who Saff presumed was Lisa, walked in. Lisa looked almost exactly like Stefan, only her ringlets were in a messy bun, her eyes were a slightly lighter brown and her cheekbones were high, like Ash’s, she also wore glasses, small, square black rimmed glasses.
“Hi, i’m Lisa” she smiled, she seemed to have Stefan’s friendliness as well, Saff returned the smile,
“nice to meet you, i’m Saff, that was Jade, so you didn’t like Butch?” Stefan was still holding Butch, he was sat on the bed, stroking him whilst the other puppies rolled around clumsily and squeaked. Lisa shook her head,
“it’s not that i don’t like him, i just figured if he’s a big puppy then he’ll be an even bigger dog so” Saff nodded,
“yeah, he’s more of a boys dog” she sent Stefan a look and he chuckled, shaking his head,
“i told you, i can’t have him at this age” she shrugged,
“suit yourself, so, which puppy do you want?” she turned back to Lisa who was looking at the six puppies on the bed,
“oh they’re all so cute” she sat down and one of the dragged itself over to her. “Hello little one” Lisa picked her up, another one Ash had been feeding. “I like this one” she said, stroking underneath it’s jaw.
“What are you gonna name it?” Stefan asked, his concerntration was on Butch though, the girls looked at each other and smiled,
“Bella” Lisa said, Saff nodded,
“right, well, Bella is all yours. Of course she’ll need to be taken to the vets to get chipped, have injections and be tested etcetera but other than that, she looks like a healthy puppy” Lisa smiled,
“great, thank you so much Saff, Stefan’s lucky to have you as his girlfriend” Saff laughed,
“whoa, she’s not my girlfriend” Stefan said,
“we just go to the same college, nothing more” Saff added, Lisa shrugged,
“fair enough, well, me and Bella are gonna get going, Stefan d’you want a lift?” he shook his head,
“nah, i’ll walk” Lisa said goodbye and was gone. Saff sighed and sat down, picking up the puppy she’d fed first earlier, the girl. Number one. Her eyes drifted over to Stefan,
“are you sure you don’t want to keep him?” she asked, he shook his head,
“i couldn’t even if i wanted to” she rolled her shoulders,
“well if you’re sure” she started putting the puppies back, Stefan put Butch back and ran his hands through his hair,
“what’s the time?” Saff checked her phone,
“twenty past nine” he nodded and bit his lip,
“right, i have coursework to do, catch you tomorrow Saff, thanks for the puppy and stuff” she chuckled,
“yeah, no problem, night” he nodded,
“night” then he left. Saff sat on her bed, staring at the box for ten minutes straight before opening it back up and getting Butch and number one out. Lisa had took number six which left one, two, three, four, five and Butch.
