'Remember when we first met Frankie?' I asked when I finished painting on the wall of mine and Frankies room. We've been stuck in this mental institute for too long. We were both a lot older now. Frankies 17 and I'm 21. We have tried breaking out for so long. To be honest, I'm allowed to leave this mental institute because apparently I'm 'normal' now. Frankie....not so much..he still cuts. That's the only reason we are both still stuck in this hell hole.
'Of course I remember GeeGee.' Frankie said with a smile. I really wanted to marry this cutie. I saw him take out his knife. Last time I tried to stop him cutting we got in a huge fight. I grab the knife from him.
'Gee. Can I have my knife back?'
'No. I want us to go home. I've been waiting to do something for quite a while..'
'But...' He said near tears.
'I have a plan.'
I got my suitcase and started packing. Frankie did the same and had a confused tearful look on his face. I pulled out a sharpie and wrote something on his arm then wrapped what I wrote in bandaging.
'Don't look at that until we get home'
'Home? We don't have a house Gerard..'
'We do actually. You'll see'
I grabbed some make up and covered up any evidence of fresh cuts.
We finishes packing a few hours later and we snuck out of the building and I started running to an alley to hide. Frankie followed shortly behind.
I leaned against a wall and took out an envelope with 'To Gerard. DO NOT OPEN UNTIL APRIL 10'
'Who's that from?' Frankie asked
'Someone I know' I replied. I didn't want to tell him about my brother.
I opened the envelope and pulled out a little hand drawn map. I began walking straight ahead and Frankie held my hand and followed. We were finally free.
