Armin was walking down the streets of his town. Humming a tune he had made up to pass the time. His family did not have very much money, so he had no shoes, and the lower part of his pant legs were ripped. He was on his way to the market to get some bread and supplies. Here was his least favorite place to be. This alleyway was where people could corner him, and he couldn't escape. He quivered, and tears were forming in the corners of his eyes as he walked. He made it to the end of the alleyway and was relieved he wasn't being beat up by then. Armin made his way to the market, that is, until someone grabbed his shirt collar, and pulled him into the alleyway. "Thought you were safe this time, didn't you? Huh? TALK TO ME!" A bully said as he took the front of Armin's collar and slammed him into the wall. "S-stop! L-let me g-go!" Armin tried to release himself from the grasp of the bully. Eren and Mikasa appeared out from behind a couple boxes, Eren looking smug, and Mikasa had her Stoic facial expression as always. "Hello again! Long time, no see, eh? What's he got this time?" Eren said as he made his hands into a fist. "I-I have nothing! J-just leave me alo-" Armin tried to lie, but was silenced by a fist to his stomach by Eren. Armin wheezed, and fought to hold back tears as he wheezed for breath. "Don't lie! Empty your pockets, you little BASTARD!" Eren ordered, but Armin didn't budge. The bullies hand moves from his shirt collar to his throat, still holding Armin up against the wall. His feet almost dangling off the ground. He still resisted the bullies urges for the money. He let go of Armin's throat, and Mikasa walked up to him. Armin dropped to the ground, and covered his head with his arms and hands. Mikasa gave him a hard kick, and he curled up into a ball, whimpering. "Now, she's gonna kick harder if you don't give us your money!" The bully yelled at Armin. Armin refused to give up what little he had. Mikasa held him up by his shirt collar, and socked him in the face. His nose was bleeding, but he still refuses to give up his money. Mikasa isn't through with him yet, she kicks him in the stomach, and holds him off the ground by the throat. She slammed him down onto the hard tone road. Armin's money spilled out of his pocket, and the three bullies snatched it up. They weren't through with him yet. Eren choked him again, but this time, a military policeman showed up, and Eren gave one last punch, and dropped him. "What do you think you are doing?! The policeman ordered. "Sir! He was planning to steal from the market! We stopped him though!" Eren lied. "When I grow up, I'll be just like you!" He said with sparkles in his eyes. The other two nodded in agreement. "O-officer.. They-They're lying.. Please help m-me..," Armin stuttered as he lies on the ground. Saying nothing, the unnamed bully stamps on Armins fingers. He whimpers in pain, still fighting back tears. "Now, children, we can't just assume someone is stealing. And you should NEVER resort to violence. Understood? If you do this, you'll grow up to be just like me!" He said, pointing to himself. "And as for the "thief" I'll be taking care of him. You three run along now!" He ordered. "Yes sir!" The said as they ran off. The officer went over to Armin. "Now, son, were we really trying to steal? You better have some excuse," the man said. "N-no sir. They stole from me. I was going to buy some bread, but they beat me up and stole my money. P-Please help me," Armin cried. "Wow. You can tell some stories, can't you. Stealing is wrong. You should know that. You're a smart boy, aren't you?" The policeman asked. "Yes sir, but I wasn't lying! I swear! Why don't you believe me?" Armin pleaded and begged with his eyes. The man stopped and looked at me straight in the eyes. "You know what my momma always told me? Never trust the poor folk. They tell tall tails. I will never believe your stories," the man said, taunting Armin with a bag of money strapped to his belt. "Now don't lie to adults, ESPECIALLY important adults like me! Or you are doing to get in deep trouble!" The man scolded Armin. When he said the word deep, he took his boot and dig it into Armin's leg. He walked off without saying another word. Armin crawled behind some boxes, and wept quietly. This was his life, and he couldn't escape from it,
