i walked into mr winger's classroom and ,like always,everyone looked up at me."ah this must be maxine,the new student." mr winger said "okay miss. danaster you can sit next to mr rosalado." the teacher said pointing to the seat. all of a sudden a hand flew up in the air." yes mr. toro?" mr winger asked." did you say her last name is danaster,?" he asked. i turned around and looked at the boy. he had and afro thing going on and he had a plain pair of jeans and
t-shirt on." yes that is her name, maxine would you like to come up here and tell the class where your from?"the teacher said. "alright."i said i walked up and took a deep breathe."imoriginallyfromhereimovedwhenmydaddiedand icantseemtoremembermyoldfreindsthoughimissthemdeeply.ilovetodraw.iplayguitarandimnotverytalented."i paused and took a breather."any questions,good didnt think so." i said heading to my seat." wait i have one." the boy looked at me. "what?" i said. "do you remmeber me?"he asked.
i took a very hard look at him.
then i got it.
my jaw dropped. i thought for sure he wouldnt have survived eighth grade,. i smiled.
"ray, do your work." i said simply before opening my math book and jotting down notes.
soon that period ended and i was starting to learn how to handle the whole meeting my old friends thing. so i waited outside the classroom for ray. he walked out and spotted me. " i cant belive you're actually back." he said hugging me.' i cant belive you survived 8 th grade." i said laughing at my joke and hugging him back." the guys are gonna be soo happy to see you especially, frank." he said." yeah we kinda have a problem with that--" i was interupted by a voice that i should have known but didnt remember."hey ray--" he stopped short i looked over. it was mikey. my enemy since well first grade."mikey." i said aknowledging his presence. "maxine." he said doing the same.
