I've learned how to walk in these boots so that they don't cut my feet. The trick is to push your foot as close to the front as possible. As long as you avoid the heel, you don't feel a thing. However, after a while you begin to feel the pain switch from your heel to your toes. When that happens, you keep your foot pulled back as close as possible. It doesn't take long for the wounds on your heels to reopen. With both bridges burned and no other method to stop or switch the pain, there's nothing else to do but keep walking. Or change shoes.
