-Laughs- That was great the way he handled his aunt and uncle and I love that surprise he left to protect his room from Dudley. The scenes on the Express were good in that he was exposed to people he'd likely never have met otherwise. The sorting was nicely done, I liked the changes you riffed besides his going to Ravenclaw. The Ravenclaw dorm room sounds a bit classier than the canon Gryff dorm room. I'll be looking forward to seeing how this worldline evolves.A Different View of Things, Year One

BTW, what's the pairing? your character list in description (of story) says "Andromeda Tonks, Harry". Just curious.Author's response
There is no set pairing yet, I think there might be a few throughout his time at Hogwarts. Also the thing with Andromeda Tonks, the stupid thing wouldn't let me unclick her name for some reason when I clicked on accident.A Different View of Things, Year One

I love the different start and Harry being a beast-speaker but why didn't he bring his cat friend who just seemed to drop out of the story? BTW, exactly how old was Harry when he got out of the closet and into a room? How long has he been practicing his magic and had Tom's memories? I like the change of house for the cannon characters and putting in OC's. I also thought with a school that size that there could easily have been at least 300 kids per level, they just need more teachers. Also if their were really so few they would bred themselves out of existence without a reasonable size population.A Different View of Things, Year One

good story so far! now that the stage has been set, so to speak, i think how the usual cast of characters (dumbles, snape, etc.) and your own characters act will be the real test of how engaging the fic will be. i like the slight cannon and character twists so far and am looking forward to seeing where you take it. read ya later!A Different View of Things, Year One

Nice, although the teaser about little mis blue-eyes had my mind going into "Saw XIII"-mode. I kinda had an image of Harry pricking her finger, sucking a few drops of blood, and Shadowing to the Bastard/s before going Waking Demonic Nightmare all over the place.
