I am a 20 something amateur writer from North Carolina. My love of writing comes from my mother who would read to me every night from as early on as I can remember. I was a sickly child and was homeschooled because of it. My mother realized my love of creative writing and tailored my lessons to help me achieve my dream of obtaining a degree in English Literature. Sadly she passed away when I was a teenager but I stayed on the path she set out for me and received my degree in English Literature when I was twenty. I also hold a degree in Early Childhood Education. I decided to start sharing my own stories in 2005 when the Twilight books first came out. No, I’m NOT a fan. In fact I hate the books but their publication encouraged me to start putting my own work out there. I thought I had a better message to send to young girls. Twilight encourages girls to be dependent on men to the point of committing suicide. I like to encourage girls to be independent and stand on their own two feet. No, I’m not a man hater. In fact I’m pretty fond of my husband who since the day we met has been my biggest fan and strongest supporter. I usually write young adult novels. It’s my comfort zone but once I am finished with my Legion of Light trilogy I plan to spread my wings and branch out into other areas of fiction writing. I have one fanfiction story that will be posted but I try to stay with original fiction.
