Bio:Hello there, I am What contented men desire. Unfortunately FicWad doesn't like my full name, so you may call me WCMD.
If you're interested, my penname comes from an anonymous riddle I've taken a bit of a liking to. It goes like this:
What does man love more than life
Fear more than death or mortal strife
What the poor have, the rich require,
And what contented men desire,
What the miser spends, and the spend-thrift saves,
And all men carry to their graves?
If you can tell me the correct answer, you win a prize!
Moving on, I write mostly Harry Potter and Star Wars KotOR. I'm also exploring the Artemis Fowl fandom in my notes, so keep your eyes out for that.
I, like almost every other HP fans in the universe, am a shipper. My personal favourites are:
Harry/Hermione
Albus/Minerva
Neville/Luna
Remus/Tonks (though I do have a story that will wind up Remus/OFC)
Godric/Rowena (you know; the founders)
Mad-Eye/Marlene McKinnon
Allow me to explain that last one. Because Marlene is such an ambiguous character in canon, I have taken the liberty of making her in her late fifties/early sixties; a perfect match for my sixty-three year-old Alastor Moody.
I am not a fan of the main canon ships (Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione) because they make no sense. If you want to hear more, contact me and I'd be delighted to debate the point.
I also dislike yaoi (M/M slash) just because it makes me uncomfortable to read; I have nothing against homosexuals, I just don't like to read them.
Finally, I cannot stand Hermione with anyone other than Harry. While this applies to basically everyone, the very worst are Draco, Sirius, Snape, and Remus. They just don't do it for me.
As you might expect, I ship in my other fandoms as well. In KotOR I firmly support Revan/Bastila, despise Revan/Carth, and tolerate but don't read Revan/Canderous. I don't really ship for K2, so I'm pretty well open to anything in that department.
Artemis Fowl I have only one ship, and I follow it religiously: Artemis/Holly. I don't care what anybody says, These two were meant for each other. They play off of one another so well, and have fantastic chemistry. I just hope Eoin Colfer supports me in The Time Paradox (comes out tomorrow; can't wait!)
Well, I guess I've run out of things to say. I do hope you enjoy reading my stories.
Ta,
WCMD
