Author\'s Response: Nooj is a Warrior and while there are certainly atheists in foxholes, many soldiers maintain some favoured superstitions as a matter of course, never thinking about the internal conflict. Nooj is particularly sensitive to any situations dealing with treachery and he, having advocated the use of the pistols, feels they are connected with the soiling of his honour. And Ixion for purely aesthetic reasons. I had decided to have one aeon be the Warrior totem of sorts - rather like Mithras for the Roman Legionnaire - and I like the look of the creature Ixion and the way the name looks on the page.
