Poor Patrick. I hope Beata comes to her senses. I also feel terrible for her, because that's such a hard thing to go through.
You wrote Patrick's internal struggle very well. I like that he didn't just give in to her, but he did have to fight to stay in control. His whole thought process was excellent.
