I found it an interesting perspective on a vampiric encounter but you left a lot of loose ends. Perhaps this was your intention but I prefer to know the whole story, it might have been interesting to go more into detail about the vampire or fallow the woman after she is changed and see how she handles her unlife, does she keep a motherly eye on her children? Does she try to turn them into vampires? I'm just throwing out ideas, it was a nice story.
