This chapter's subject matter seems unfinished. It's somewhat like a cliffie, which are bad. :) Other than that, I understand that people are nominating your for the crossover thing with Buffy, but she's not really had much of an active role in the story so far. It's really a long story and so far hasn't shown much signs that it's getting anywhere near complete. In fact, I would say that you're somewhere close to a half-way mark, based on where the story is going. Keep up the good work and I look forward to what you do next.

Cliff hangers are only bad for the readers, authors love them as they get lots of angry reviews, they are also easy ways to end chapters if you can not think of a better one.
You are right she has not had much of an active role though her role will increase further into the story.
That would be becuase it is not anywhere near completion and is nearer the half way mark.
As for the Eragon explanation, if I had not I would have people shouting at me and this way I prove as best as you can like this that the idea was mine not a rip off of elsewhere.
