Harry Potter and The Invincible Technomage

Well, I'm currently on a campaign to get Harry sorted into hufflepuff, so things could be better, but at least he's away from Ron, who I've always considered quite useless. Parma should be a much better friend.

I used to like the ravenclaw sort, but a fix convinced me that it has to be the most boring house ever. Honestly, an obligatory three hour study session each day? shudder

I still think that puff loyalty would be the best for Harry, but I suppose that at least your Harry won't be as useless as in canon, and shouldn't need it.

Author's response

- Part of what I want Harry Stark to do is unite the houses. Ron will be a friend, but not a bud, if you get my meaning.

- Smart isn't boring, smart is smart. A lot of people comment on the mandatory study time. When I was in high school, 5-6 hours of homework per night was not unusual... Of course I'm so old that I remember when you could only claim to be in a band if you played an instrument, and taking Trig your sophomore year wasn't unusual...

- As I see the houses, the idea that a single personality aspect defines any one house is nonsense.

- The Gryffs are brave. And loyal. And Smart. And pretty damned sneaky.

- The Puffs are loyal, and smart. And brave, and fairly sneaky in that no one notices aspect 2 and 3.

- The Claws are Smart. And loyal, and Brave, and sneaky enough to put things over on Luna (at least)

- The Slytherins are Sneaky. And Smart and brave and Loyal.

- Even in canon, each house has members that display all the aspects of the other houses
