Harry Potter and The Invincible Technomage

I do so love seeing a good Dumble-sledging; this story has two of them (first from Agatha Harkness, the second from Tony himself). Harry's making up with Snape has a convert (Severus and Wanda Maximoff discussing magic like civilized folks); Filius Flitwick (remember, in this story, both Harry and Hermione are Ravenclaws) and, of all people, Pomona Sprout (apparently there are advantages in having the Oldest Living Hufflepuff in your corner) are also in that camp. Between Harry/Hermione/Padma's more overt dealings, and the behind-the-scenes work of the Grangers, Patils, Longbottoms (remember, Neville is a Friend of Harry) and other potentials (Susan Bones is already prepping to owl her Aunt Amelia regarding Agatha's unjust banishment), Riddle and Dumbledore are screwed in ways that neither has realized yet. (Speaking of Riddle losses, he's already lost at least four potential future recruits, all from Slytherin: Crabbe, Goyle, Parkinson, and, surprisingly, Draco Malfoy! Between Draco and Severus, the losses from Slytherin alone will only get larger.)

Franklin as in Franklin Richards, the eldest son of Reed and Susan Richards?

Though Jarvis is present (as is Happy Hogan and his ex, Pepper), I'm surprised not to have a whiff of James Rhodey Rhodes (at this point, he was not only still friends with Tony and employed by SI, he also served as Iron Man when Tony had public appearances he could not skip). Will Rhodey show up at some point? (It's pretty darn certain that some of the advances in the Techsuit would lead to later advances in both Stark's own Iron Man suit and the later Stark/Rhodes battlesuit, AKA the War Machine suit.) Tony has always been about making a difference with his inventions and designs (in a positive way); it's never been just about the money with him (though he has nothing against making money). Who shows up from the DC Universe? Wanda Maximoff is pure Marvel (AKA the Scarlet Witch; she's also the wife of synthezoid and fellow Avenger Vision); Agatha Harkness is also a Marvel character (and a friend of both Wanda and Tony; in fact, she introduced the two to each other, largely at the behest of Stephen Strange). Strange himself came to magic even later in his life than Harry or Hermione; he wasn't trained in sorcery until well after reaching adulthood (he was already a well-known surgeon). However, I would love to have Stephen meet the Grangers (or better yet, Hermione). So far, the only characters from the DC universe to make a major appearance is the law firm Tony consulted to adopt Harry (however, Tony is apparently knowledgeable about the Dark Detective and some of his activities).

Author's response

- I almost has Severus ask Wanda to autograph her book to him... I didn't because it came out all creepy.

- Draco hasn't changed his mind about anything, though Harry has gotten through to a few Slytherins with the talked about but yet unseen study group. In this story Harry and Draco will not be enemies, nor will they be friends. They will continue to debate the pure blood issues, Draco will just come better armed in the future. Snape isn't Harry's buddy either. He was just shamed into acting like an adult (an probably a little frightened of what the kid might do, having seen the troll residue and large chunk of missing castle.

- Yep, Franklin Richards, he of the absolute worst code name from his time with the Power Pack "Tattletale"

- Rhodey got a mention at the train station in chapter one. He'll make appearances (mostly in flashbacks) in future chapters.

- No one is showing up from DC, the Bruce/Ollie mention was just a little joke to amuse my inner comics geek.

- Hermione (and Padma and Parvarti and Neville, and Susan, and Hannah and others) will all be meeting Marvel characters...

- So will Dumbles, Umbitch and Fudge, but they won't enjoy it nearly as much.
