I loved it. The "share the wealth" bit with the other guys in his dorm was inspired and should do wonders to improve things there. His polite and formal rejections are handled with class and his asking Daphne out was a beautiful move; esp. since he could've been rather more agressive about matters.
The letter from the twins was as hilarious as one could expect. If nothing else, I can see Harry providing them with several "interesting" developments at a later date.
I thought that "story" he told Dumbles, esp. following so close to "canon" was a very nice touch indeed and covered how you'd realistically expect matters to go; the bet with Neville was just icing on the cake for rubbing it in to Dumbles.
Finally, I'll re-iterate that this reader would very much like to see the backstory on just what plot the Weasley's and Dumbledore were up to.
Author's response
- Well, I would share the pictures if I were ever to fall into some strange Bizarro-world where women would send me nekkid pictures (the Internet excepted of course)
- I think that Harry couldn't have been more aggressive and remained Harry. his asking her out was tantamount to the biggest emotional risk he has ever taken.
- the twin's letter might just be a feint, a false white flag to lull Harry into a false sense of security you know...
- Messing with Dumbles is fun.
- But what happened with the Weasley's isn't important to the story... heh heh heh. All will be revealed.
