Hm. The idea isn't really bad, but I don't think you explained the reason they used a spell to split him well enough.
It doesn't seem to have any point, since while Robin ended up safer, wizard Harry was in just as much danger as before. Unless Robin was supposed to end up like some sorta Horcrux, I can't figure out the point of splitting him.
