this is great... just the type of harry i like, a hardened old soul, who learn to take the leap for the first time... its works well i think, for a man to know so much (due to the war) but still be innocent in the concepts of love and life.
i think you did really well, the characters were great, and the emotion and depth was good too... i hope you decide to make it into a full length novel, but i doubt it...
anyway congrats
Author's response
Erm. You do realize that Harry doesn't love her?
In vi it says He sews together lies with his own hands and willfully doesn't notice the large, messy stitches when he holds them up to his mind's eye. And then the end line: And this is the moment in which Harry breaks his promise from so long ago: (to not say "love" without meaning it) "I love you, Rowena." He ignores the messy, gaping stitches with the ease of long practice and smiles brightly at his wife.
Hm. I suppose I should make it clearer, then.
