Hmm, so the cogs are networked? Does that mean that if one wasn't wiped, it could control/operate through the others and extend its influenc?
That was an interesting chapter as live goes one and Harry & Hermione help Arthur and Molly recover from their devastation.
The final scene, where the cog takes over someone else should be interesting if he/it comes to Harry's place and attacks Hermione. Somehow I suspect Harry's got some extra, "non-standard", protections that may surprise this parasite.
Author's response
Kind of a hive mentality with built in redundancy - of course the networking simile can also be exploited to fight them - or is that too cliche?
As far as Arthur and Molly, I wanted them healed.
The best way to recover from a deep personal loss is to focus on what you have, family, career, whatever moves you, whatever you're passionate about.
I think it's safe to say that when Harry figures out who the bad guys are there will be some interesting consequences.
