The story has a slow buildup which I think is necessary since it looks at so many aspects of cannon in a new way. It's funny, but also rather insightful. Harry having lived with the Dursleys should not be naive. He's seen bad behavior and been treated badly. He shouldn't be expecting all sweetness and light. This gives an explanation for the cannon Harry before book 5 and a rather delightful exploration of Dean and Seamous. Worth a read. Not galloping action, but rather insightful, subtle humor and manipulation of cannon ideas.
Author's response
I do prefer to have short bursts of action which are coming in the chapter after next, probably, as I thought it unlikely Harry would jump from one adventure to the next. I feel I mmust warn you that Seamus and Dean won't be this prominant all through the book, other canon characters will be explored. Thanks for the lovely review :)
