Actually, I've been wondering how horcruxes work. It wouldn't be something like freezing the aging of the physical body, I wouldn't think; I can't see how an external soul fragment would do that. Rather, I imagine the body would just wither and die, but the resident soul wouldn't pass on, but hang around, and so could be resurrected in another physical shell?
Wonder if they could make another body for Hermione and move her soul over? Since they have the technique down for that in your story.

I would think you'd keep the same 'shell' but over time, as the cells replaced themselves, the missing soul fragments would cause mutations to creep in (at least that's what happens in my fics). The changes are small for 1-3 Horcruxes, but greater after, ending with the pseudo-snakeman look
